I love it that you get right down to business and don’t chatter endlessly about non-related subject. Great information. Thank you.
Thanks for the great explanations. I've taken classes where the instructor simply get "x" to stabilize your bag but didn't explain why or when you use one or the other. This really helped me to understand the differences.
You have addressed a few of the most frustrating subjects in sewing -- Interfacing and stabilizers. Thank you for for sharing your tips and tricks. I feel so much more confident in choosing now.
I'm wanting to stick my toe in making some bags and the interfaceing/stabilizer had me confused until now..this was the best explanation I've watched short but very descriptive with examples without being confusing..keeping this one in my like video list to refer to..thank you! For helping educate a newbie
What a fantastic video very informative article. Do you teach? if not you should you, this country needs great teachers like you.
Excellent teaching style, very informative tutorial with excellent examples. So helpful for us newbies. Learned a lot. Thank you much❣️

Thank you so much! I am a fashion student wanting to sell bags for a fundraiser and this was sooo helpful!!
Really informative video. Thanks. I made a bag once and used that foam and like you say the fabric went all wrinkly. It put me off trying again.
Such a wonderful and informative video! Thank You soooo much. You should put a link to your website as well. ❤️.
The best video on interfacing and stabilizers. Great samples and beautiful bags. Thank you!

This is an extremely very informative video! I have watched several videos on interfacing and stablizers and yours to me is most understandable explained! Thank you!
Glad it was helpful! Thank you for the feedback!
Awesome tips!!
Thanks! Great tip on zigzagging the foam edges. I will have to try that when I use it. Looking forward to trying your woven interfacing.
Glad it was helpful! Thank you
Very helpful.
I'm new to bag making. Great video. Thank you
You’re welcome 😊
Thanks so helpful
From Egypt 🇪🇬
Thank you so much for this informative video, I learned so much! Curious to what temperature you set your heat press to for adhering your interface to your vinyl. I have one but have been afraid to use it, but after watching you recommend, I’m excited to try it
Really helpful, thank you :)
WOW, the cosmetics bag you made is gorgeous, I love the snakeskin pattern. Thank you for all the great advice on different interfacings, is the foam suitable for sewing quilting pattern onto? thanks
Thank you very informative! Can you use Decovil Light on the vinyl that has the softer fuzzy backing?
I use the same Singer heat press and I get great results using the wool setting to set all interfacing, cotton and vinyl. Cotton setting was just too hot. The press evenly distributes heat so sticks better. Great video!
Thank you so much Kate! I will switch over to wool from now on. Appreciate the tip.
Very informative. Thank you for a great explanation with examples. I want to make a diaper bag with quilting cotton. What stabilizer would you recommend considering it needs to be washable?
Great info! thank you!!!
You are so welcome!
Thank you so much for useful info
My pleasure
Very informative! Thanx!
Glad you had the opportunity to see this, I thought it would be helpful for you. :)
Thank you for great video. Did you say you used a woven stabilizer under the fusible foam. Im trying to learn these materials before embarking on making simple bags.
Thank you for this wonderful, informational video. What would you suggest for working with a stretchy velvet material?
Are you using the stretchy velvet for bag making? I've never used a stretchy fabric so I wouldn't feel comfortable recommending as I don't know how that would interact with an interfacing/stabilizer. I know they may have stretchy interfacings for stretchy fabric however, they don't provide the structure needed for bag making. I personally haven't used these so I wouldn't know what to recommend. Sorry, I can't be of more help with your question. I don't want to tell you the incorrect information.
What is the sewing machine needle size to sew with when using medium to heavy interfacing or stabilizer? Your video is very informative and helpful. Thank you.
Would I be able to use Profuse Stiff from Wawak in the zip n grip only if I am using cotton fabric for both lining and main. Do you think it would be firm enough.
Hi. Thank you for making this. Cab you please share how thick your fusible foam is? Thank you
1/4"
fusible foam is also very thick and that makes your bags bulky!
20CAD a meter tho ouch. even more expensive than most of my fabrics. any cheaper alternatives to that?
maybe I can use a cheaper interfacing for most of the bag and slide in plastic inserts into the areas that take force?
I’m new too . To bad there isn’t a pdf explaining the fabric and interfacing
What temp setting do you use on your heat press for both cotten or vinyls? Approximately weight. Thank you for your great video love all of yours.
I use the cotton setting for all fabric. I'm sure I shouldn't but that's what I do, lol. Now sure what you mean by weight. For my cotton fabrics I keep the press closed until it beeps. For the vinyl I close it for 3 second only so I don't melt it. Thank you for your kind words.
@@SewYoursthere’s no number? My heat press goes off degrees not cotton or what type of fabrics. Thank you
No numbers on my press. Just buttons that lists different types fabrics.@@karenpaul4594
😊❤️
woven fusible interfacing how apply on faux leather
What’s the temperature that you set your heat press to? I didn’t get that part. Thank you
Mine doesn't have temp settings in degrees, just settings like cotton, rayon, etc. I use the cotton setting.
I can’t find decovi light (pelon525). Do you have suggestions of what I can use as a substitute.
No I don't, sorry. If you're on Facebook you could ask the Sew Yours Facebook Group or any other bag making group and they would be happy to give you suggestions. I've only worked with the stabilizers and interfacings I mentioned in the video.
Would you say canvas can be used instead of coton (canvas without interfacing)?
Yes, if you are working with cotton canvas or canvas you could skip woven interfacing since those fabrics have some more weight to them.
What would be the heaviest interlacing?
Decovil Heavy
do you have vidios with your patterns
Yes, all my sewing patterns include a video tutorial which can be found here on my CZcams channel.
Can you use decovile with cotton?
Yes, first use a woven interfacing. Then add Decovil Light.
Thanks✌️🙂💯. I've always had ideas since highschool and recently started learning how to take an idea, from (just) a drawing to physical reality. 🤍🏁✨
