    Thanks for the great explanations. I've taken classes where the instructor simply get "x" to stabilize your bag but didn't explain why or when you use one or the other. This really helped me to understand the differences.

    I use the same Singer heat press and I get great results using the wool setting to set all interfacing, cotton and vinyl. Cotton setting was just too hot. The press evenly distributes heat so sticks better. Great video!

    Thank you for this wonderful, informational video. What would you suggest for working with a stretchy velvet material?

    • @SewYours
      @SewYours  Před 9 měsíci

      Are you using the stretchy velvet for bag making? I've never used a stretchy fabric so I wouldn't feel comfortable recommending as I don't know how that would interact with an interfacing/stabilizer. I know they may have stretchy interfacings for stretchy fabric however, they don't provide the structure needed for bag making. I personally haven't used these so I wouldn't know what to recommend. Sorry, I can't be of more help with your question. I don't want to tell you the incorrect information.

    Hi. Thank you for making this. Cab you please share how thick your fusible foam is? Thank you

  • @ameliabuns4058
    @ameliabuns4058 Před 10 měsíci

    fusible foam is also very thick and that makes your bags bulky!
    20CAD a meter tho ouch. even more expensive than most of my fabrics. any cheaper alternatives to that?
    maybe I can use a cheaper interfacing for most of the bag and slide in plastic inserts into the areas that take force?

    What temp setting do you use on your heat press for both cotten or vinyls? Approximately weight. Thank you for your great video love all of yours.

    • @SewYours
      @SewYours  Před rokem +1

      I use the cotton setting for all fabric. I'm sure I shouldn't but that's what I do, lol. Now sure what you mean by weight. For my cotton fabrics I keep the press closed until it beeps. For the vinyl I close it for 3 second only so I don't melt it. Thank you for your kind words.

    Would you say canvas can be used instead of coton (canvas without interfacing)?

    • @SewYours
      @SewYours  Před rokem

      Yes, if you are working with cotton canvas or canvas you could skip woven interfacing since those fabrics have some more weight to them.
