In this video, I show you the benefits of having a side exit exhaust versus a traditional longer exhaust. 1995 Ford F150 Bronco #fordf150 #obsford #diy
Another benefit to side exit is not having those exhaust gasses burning on your legs or blowing in your face when you're messing around the rear of your truck while it's running.
I want to actually do this on both sides. So my plan is to remove the front gas tank just use the rear one. That will give me the space to add the cat, a thrush muffler exhaust and a pipe out the driver side.
why do you want your truck to be loud? Cops hear you when you punch it. The a$$hole you’re cutting off will hear it. Your EX-Girlfriend will definitely hear it when your checking up on her. Loud exhausts do save lives, but they sure do ruin any stealth capability you had.
@lavathrower2324 I added a super 44 and im kinda disappointed since on my truck is sounds barely louder than stock. Maybe its because of the two catalytic converters.
Have you ever considered a high flow cat? Or a cam? The sum-k3600 has the mpst lift you can run with the stock heads and internals, plus it offers better fuel economy and throttle response
I have looked into high flow cats. When I was looking, I lived in a state with emissions testing. I’m told high flows probably would pass the tailpipe sniff test. I also never saw a side by side comparison of the performance difference. It might be worth looking into now. As for a cam, I like the idea of them but didn’t want to go through a tuning process.
I HAD a dump exhaust right after the cab. But they lied to me and said it had to be aide exit or rear exit. I miss my dump. It made it louder because of the reverberation
Ah! That’s right. In Pennsylvania, the law was it had to exit away from the body past the last passenger compartment. For trucks a dude exit does the trick, for anything else, it has to go out the back.
And it comes out of the first cat as 3 inch pipe. so I cut it off there and run 3 inch all the way, and I used a 45° bend with a chrome tip to have it come out the same spot as yours. Just for a little better flow.
If you straight pipe it aside from leaving the first cat, it costed like $60 on jegs but I had a couple flow masters laying around so I used them also .
I got true dual side exits on both my 93 lightning and my 95 extended cab short bed 4x4
That’s cool!🤙

Very good point!

Love your tips! I'm rebuilding a 76 f100 I got 351 Windsor I'm throwing in it! So you keep giving hope to go back and finish the build haha 😅
Thanks man!🤙 Love those late 70s Ford trucks.
Glad to hear it!
I cut mine out and straight piped it to the rear axle
Got ride of catalytic converter and muffler
Nice!
Already did it years ago on my 1993
But if it falls because it rusts, it's going into your rear axle, but i like side pipes. Had them on my 1987 ford f150
Try adding a super 44 series flow master you won't be disappointed
I have a magna flow muffler on there now and it’s not as loud as a 40 series but it has a good note to it.

@@iamgriff My magnaflow is pretty quiet so I can hear myself think.

Abt to do that to my 93 for the exact same reasons: rust, cost, looks cool.
Lots of pros for going this route!👌

The other benefit is you can smell the exhaust coming into the cab
Not if your cab is well sealed.
That’s not how that works unless your maybe backing up
What gauge of steel did you use for your rear fender replacement panels, and how did you bend it into shape?
Those are the actual fender patch panels I cut to that shape. I bought the patch panels from raybuck.com.
I still have my stock exhaust. Its already a side exit lol
Hahahaha! A rusted side exit?
Just put a hog ass side exit on my 93 5.0 last night. Did a single cat delete. Sounds like a pace car
Nice!!🤙🤙
Only issue is you get dome in the cab
True for louder mufflers. I don’t have any drone that I can notice.
How is the noise? I am considering this for simplicity, but dont want too much drone considering ill be running louder flowmasters.
I don’t mind the noise at all. I have a fairly quite Magnaflow muffler on my truck right now. No drone that I can tell.
Just sell thst dang thing
I’ve got too much blood, sweat, and tears in it.

May not be legal in some states tho.
Yeah most states require a cat but about half have inspections for them.
@@TheMinuteMasters yeah not in Oklahoma.
