The sister duo First Aid Kit is from Sweden...but you'd never know it listening to their new album "The Lion's Roar." What they make is a kind of Americana, with acoustic guitars, autoharp, lots of layered, sisterly harmonies -- and shout outs to Emmylou, June, Gram and Johnny (no last names needed). They join us live in studio.

I am American of Filipino descent. I grew up listening to ABBA. Then Roxette. This is a very nice piece of music. I love Swedish music. Their women are the prettiest in Europe.
I love Johannas voice in this song in particular. I always consider Klara to be the lead with her prominent voice but Johanna get's so lovely deep in this song. Very beautiful. The does it even more so in that Live video from the streets of Paris. Gives me the chills. They should do this more often ;D

I am not sure how to say this, but the thought/question just came to me so I'm just saying it. I am fortunate to be Swedish which has given me the privilage to see them live a couple of times. For me their style can not be compared to any present bands that I know of. But, to the point... It's a straight forward question really: Their sound, their style... don't you Americans just love this?
I'm not American , but I am English and have had the privelage of seeing them live in Manchester. We have a music festival in my home town of Ramsbottom (check out the artists who have already performed here before passing judgement if you will) and I would love nothing more than seeing them headline next year's festival.
They are Swedish but you would never know it.

Their Father is a former member of the Swedish Rock Band, Lolita Pop. Grew up in a musical family with their own recording studio. They went to English school in Enskede, Sweden. They both speak fluent English and they've been doing music from a very young age. Really Great, arent' they?
Thats because the best music have been from Sweden since Motown collapsed...i'm not surprised at all that this kind of music quality is from just Sweden. I would probably be more surprised if this was made in USA.
snippidippi If it was from the US they probaly didnt dare to be this political. Well idk what u see in this song but I think it's highly political. Which makes it even better to me. This would be supirising for the US today indeed. I saw some comment compare them to Bob Dylan and yeah that's pretty close.

Do a little search here, they do do some Townes covers.
"Our Mother the Mountain" would be a perfect Townes cover for them. That or "Rake."

Ctuchik It's called a capo. It shortens the playability of the strings, resulting in a higher pitch.
