Was there in the audience as a teenager having taken the bus from Toronto, now listening 20 years later!
woooooow - THAT is cool!!!
For All You Are brought a tears to my eyes. That’s hittin’ em where it hurts!
A great document (and concert!) of three giants of modern jazz. As a drummer myself I especially enjoy hearing Jack DeJohnette in this setting outside the Standards Trio with Keith Jarrett and Gary Peacock. That same year I leant my Sonor drumset to Jack when he visited Gothenburg together with saxophonist/keyboardist John Surman. Great performance!
As the free spirit Jack is he really keep the flame. Dynamics along with the pulse and freedom. PULSE. FREEDOM. Not many if any drummer that keep that balance 🙏🏻
Yessss Raymond, exactly... Jack here is brilliant...I mean all three are, but Jack is killin' here... and the interplay - woow!
Awww man, it's after midnight and now you drop this on me. I'll never get to sleep tonight.
Haha txx David... yeah killin' set
Each member of this trio is a master. Jack DeJohnette is always enhancing and anchoring, but never intruding, with an abundance of rhythmic nuance. Dave Holland makes his bass sing for us its own compelling story, woven between the other instruments. Herbie Hancock is, here as always, the consummate pianist and composer. The unique harmonies and voicings he brings to everything he plays have amazed me throughout his long career. This is a sublime performance, and brilliantly preserved. Three old friends clearly are enjoying every moment of this. Thanks so much for sharing!
Yesssss
Isn't this simply stunning. WOW!! Never saw Herbie, or Dave, but back in 1987, I went to the Montreal Jazz Fest and witnessed Jack drumming with Keith Jarrett and their phenomenal standards trio along with bassist Gary Peacock. So thank you for this post. It is really exceptional. Much appreciation from Tim, in Southwestern Ontario.
This version is longer than the one I found about 10 years ago, so this is a real gift. Thank you posting!
Oh man, I just died and went to heaven.
So beautiful to hear this line up as a trio. Thanks!
Yeah... incredible stuff...
Great classic
Wow! Thanks for this, never heard of this recording in Europe ❤
Very Sterling ( excellent 👌) concert HERE!!
Yessss
Wow! This was just an awesome. Thank you.
bruh is this lineup even real? i just started and i cannot wait to experience this magic
Awesome! Thank you so much.
you can sense, that they know each other very well since 30 years or so, by the level of intimacy - the interaction develops into immediate support
Yesssss... agree...
Miles is laughing. This is so funny; it is truly a substitute for verbal language; music for the gods; I heard the solitude of Neruda and transformative sounds of the landscapes of Gabriel Garcia. Their treasures were unearthed every evening they took the stage with Miles and Wayne.Legacy!!!
saw these guys with Pat Metheny early 90's Parallel Realities stuff mostly; the sort of gig you never forget...
Wooow yeah... killin' band!!!
I saw one of those 16 concerts of that Parallel Realities tour at the Costa Mesa Performing Arts Center in California. Aside from loving that album, the show was heavy depth as you could expect and imagine from these Jazz giants. About an hour through, I had to go out to the back walkway and take a few minutes, it was so intense.
@@cocktailhotel beautiful...
thank you for inspiring my next youtube search that sounds fireeeee
Mi sbaglio, o non si trova il CD di questo concerto? Tu hai il vinile?
