@@johnpickford4222I don’t know for sure why that decision was made. But the Nilsson-Bjoerling-Tebaldi recording was made in 1959 and Leontyne had not yet sung Liu. She did so for the first time that fall in Chicago. And Moffo did not sing Liu at the Met until 1961.
@@matOpera i frequent a lot of operatic content on youtube as being an operatic tenor myself and consider you to be right up there with some of the best! shame that Di Stefano 1955 Forza aria got copyright striked, would love to hear it!
@@AlainArvelo Thank you! I would highly recommend di Stefano’s 1955 live rendition of “La vita è inferno” from La Scala, which is on CZcams already. I think it’s his best rendition, even more inspired than the (excellent) studio version. I’ve never heard anyone sing the aria with more abandon. I wish you all the best with your operatic career!

I don’t know what Leontyne Price’s “only Liu” could mean. She sang the role in San Francisco, in Chicago, and in New York, as well as in Vienna.
I believe this is her only recording in the role.
