I mean really, the only similarities are that there is a crazy dad that finds two lovers creeping in the hayloft.. which is kind of implied by the songs story. In fact in the earlier version your friend made, daddy didn't even have a gun (gagagagaga)....

I mean this is quite a cliche scene that you can see in many american movies so it makes sense people would imagine this when hearing "my daddy's got a gun".
clip is just what song is singing about. lovers, dad, hay and gun; it wasnt the hardest challenge

Actually, When I first listened (Before hearing the music video), I literally thought they were having passionate sex when it said "Lovers with their legs tied up in knots", and poor bf (assuming the other person is the male in this situation) had to pull his pants up and hide his "Shame" as he runs from daddy and his gun.

It’s so amazing to me to see a music video for Hayloft after all these years, and it’s exactly like what I picture hearing the song. Tiktok does great things for artists that deserve appreciation, as much as some people might say otherwise.
