  • I have created a food station on my farm for wild moose. I feel privilege to be allowed to be so close to these big majestetic wild animals. I have named them all and every year i wait for the same moose to return. Not everyone comes back. some are shot during the moose hunt and others die in car accidents.

    Maybe you feed them just enough to get thru the tough “ hump” times but you don’t over due it so that they don’t lose their natural winter survival habits..
    You must have some deer that visit as well🤞🏼

      I totally agree with you. This winter it was important to me to save the orphaned calves, and it was also a very hard winter this year. Cold and very much snow. So it was a bit special. I am feeding the deer as well:))))

    Lovely video. I would have thought that moose were protected in Sweden? Cheers from Australia.

      Hello James:) Moose are not protected in Sweden. We have moose hunting every year from october. And also a lot of car accidents with moose. Calves that loose their mothers and mothers that loose their babies. A moose can actually be 30 years old but not here. It seems like they only live 2-3 years. That's very sad....

      @@TheVikingQueensFarm-cw9ii thank you so much, disappointing that they are not protected. I know what you mean by road accidents with them, we have thousands of kangaroo accidents every week on country roads, mostly at night. Lots of babies in pouches don’t make it.
      Best wishes to you.

    Do any other animals come to visit? I suppose bears are hibernating. Anyone else come by?

      Yes the deer, i am feeding them too. We have no bears in the area i live. Now and then it happends that wolfs are in the area, but i haven't heard anything about that now lately.

    You need to do a more consistent and adequate job of providing the food. Poor animals are starving and hopeful, to end up with nothing.

    • @TheVikingQueensFarm-cw9ii
      @TheVikingQueensFarm-cw9ii  Před 2 měsíci +4

      We had to let them get used to the food slowly but surely. It is power feed. Now we rund out to the bar as soon as they arrive and that can be a new moose every hour. We feed them both day and night. We who live here have different shifts. So don't worry, they get enough food:)))

    Not sure it is a good idea to feed wild life , they will eventually lose their fear of human and this will cause problems later.

    • @mrclean62
      @mrclean62 Před 2 měsíci +1

      I'd have to agree with you 100% some people think they are doing the animals a favor by providing food for them when GOD has taken care of ALL things since the beginning of creation.

      @@mrclean62Hmn. Running through the world with closed yes hasn‘t proven ever. Humans are taking away habitats continuously, poisining land and water, hunting animals until extinction. If that‘s what you call „taking care of“, well, good on you then.
      I‘d surely question the measure here, since I don‘t know anything about the area, not much about Moose either. But God taking care of it ? Jeezuz.

    Desensitizing wild animals to the human element is not in their best interest'I know you think you're doing a good thing but this really isn't a good idea 😔

      These moose do not live long, they are killed at the next moose hunt or most of them in car accidents. Therefore i think they should have a good life for the short time they live. I only have young moose here. They don't get old anymore. They could have lived 25 years if the people had paid attention to them. But we have made roads in their forests and people drive very fast here. So i don't feel guilty. Humanity doesn't care about them. Last week i lost two of my wild moose in car accidents.

    Count on humans to fight about anything/something. If you live or have lived around these animals for a certain period of time, you will be familiar with what they do or don’t need in the way of help, and what to be careful of. If you have no experience with them, then what do you know?
