To clarify the psychotic lyrics. The singer, Claudio, filters his own life and emotions thru his sci-fi story lyrics. During this time in the early 2000s, his girlfriend had just broken up with him. So a young Claudio wrote the third album as one of the hardest breakup albums ever conceived, it also just happens to be one of the best guitar albums as well, I highly recommend a full album listen, the Coheed fanbase loves that stuff. He did reconnect with this girlfriend, they have been married for many years now and are parents. The later albums represent this and hit very hard if you are a parent yourself.
The band is from Nyack, NY. Claudio is the master of what is called the dipthong. It's the way he stretches words to make them fit what he wants.

Coheed! 😍😍😍🥰🥰🥰 Claudio is such an amazing guitarist and vocalist. I've been a fan for years. Played this song on Rock Band all the time.

welcome to ‘The Fence’ my man 🤘🏻🔥🍻 take the dive, such a diverse & eclectic discography that’s goin 20+ years strong. Claudio has made a graphic novel that goes along with the albums. going to see them for my 10th time in August, their live shows are incredible. check out ‘Comatose’ or ‘A Disappearing Act’ for more pop-y vibes, & ‘The Dark Sentencer’ & ‘The Gutter’ for more of the progressive side 🫡 and check out the studio versions, they are much better quality

The Coheed albums are each a story in a series that also got a graphic novel to tell the story. It was Emo Star Wars...lol

He does seem to have...anger issues, yeah. :)
This was also my intro to them. Never heard of them and they've been around for almost 30 years. Wow. Good stuff.

Been my favorite band for over 20 years. Seen them live like 8 times, best concerts I've ever been to. They're mostly a progressive-rock band but they came up in the emo/post-hardcore scene, there's a lot of crossover. They've toured with emo bands, pop-punk bands, post-hardcore bands, metal bands, all sorts of stuff. Really well respected.
Generally on an album you're gonna get a split between more proggy intricate songs and more poppy songs. Also all the albums (minus Color Before The Sun) are a sci-fi story the lead singer has created, which you don't really need to follow anyway to vibe with their stuff.
Oh and I guess I'll throw in a non-Coheed recommendation, listen to Four Winds by Bright Eyes, it one of my favorite songs of all time. czcams.com/video/FQw6kEv80X0/video.html

They're from New York USA. They are one of my favorite bands. Their live shows are so epic. This was part of a "Neverender" full album play through. They had female vocalists there to help with some of the higher pitched parts live at the time. He plays and sings and it is super difficult to do at the same time at that kind of level. They have concept albums, so a lot is based in real life but are part of an overarching sci-fi comic series that goes along with the music

Ok, my first comment is that the first few licks on the guitar were absolutely nostalgic for me as they reminded me of the theme song for the old GameBoy version of Tetris... XD
The guitarist was incredible! The voices were insane! Those lyrics were...psychotic! LOL
Thank you Mel for this absolute VIBE!
Thank you DJ for a fabulous reaction...

Been a huge fan of these guys for like 20 years. Haven't finished the video, but fun fact: if you're familiar with what a concept album is, Coheed and Cambria (think it's pronounced CAIM-bree-UH) are an entire concept band. All of their songs tell part of a story that the singer Claudio Sanchez wrote and turned into a series of graphic novels. The story is really complex, so don't worry if the lyrics don't make a lot of sense on their own. There are a lot of self-references that are lost if you don't know the lore (I don't know it all, myself). Also, if the songs sounds slightly familiar, it's heavily influenced by Led Zeppelin's "Kashmir." Also, I think the second guitar neck is a 12-string instead of a 6. Gives a different dynamic. EDIT: They're American. From New York state.
