- Harley Reid is the #1 prospect in the 2023 AFL draft. The Echuca native put on a SHOW for the Bendigo Pioneers in 2022, earning himself a call up to the Vic Country squad, and All Australian honours as a bottom-aged talent.

It's halftime of the eagles and North Melbourne game so I came to watch these highlights to make myself feel better. A midfield of Ginbey and Reid is going to be exciting!
You've got Hawthorn to contend with unfortunately, but yeah Ginbey(who I wanted at the Bombers) with Reid would be scary good

@@daturbo4life711 McKenzie, Ward and McDonald still have to prove themselves. Day and Worpeedo have to develop into A graders from B graders. Potential is there but currently it's just potential...

@@daturbo4life711 Newcombe is a leader of that midfield he's really starting to establish himself as a gun of the competition! I predicted Day to have a career best year (given he didn't play that well for the last year or so) and he's doing exactly that - will be an elite wingman who can push through the middle. If there's anyone in the competition I can say is Joel Selwood-esque - it has to be Josh Ward. The guy won't average 30 like Nick Daicos but he'll get 24 a night and still have an influence. Will be the next captain after Sicily if things go to plan. Connor MacDonald has shown promising signs, but I think he's more of a two way runner with great endurance so probably will fit in the other wing spot. Cam Mackenzie I'm not sure about yet, I reckon he'll have to grow into his body a bit more to be ready for AFL level, but that booming kick would definitely complement the rest of the guys in the middle. Worpel was so good in his first 2 years but I don't know man if he'll be at the club long-term. May end up getting traded to Geelong. He's alright but not sure if he's good enough for the long run. Harley Reid thrown into this mix would be phenomenal tho 🤩 I'm not sure if he'll get him but if we do who knows what happens next hahahaha

Looks like an absolute gun but I imagine a lot of AFL players watching this can't wait to completely cream this guy when he tries his under-17s style fend off. Might work on 70-80kg 16-17 year olds but there's levels....

Playing with kids in U/18 is not playing with men professionally in AFL. Seen it all heard it all before then they get in AFL and just another player.

@@juliannewman5789 I should have been clearer to the OP; name 5 players that pushes Harley Reid out of top 5 in next years draft. I agree Moir is also another that's firming as favorite, but obviously a lot can happen from now and 2023 draft, but as it stands Reid is a beast.
