@@msya2831 You cannot compare VW to Mercedes or BMW bro as their price point are different level.
For instance, VW Golf highest spec is RM169k where else a Mercedez A250 is RM253k.
VW handling should be best compared to Renault or even perhaps Toyota and Honda too.
Volkswagen is definitely having a comeback.

Uncle you revealed your age! Great to have such good coordination at such age. Unlike other comments here I thought the VW MD was terrified during the drive judging by the size of his eyes as his face was behind the mask. The more white you can see above someone’s iris the more terrified he is.
Just watched your Passat drive up and I thought you would have enjoyed the Arteon more without the MD on board.

What can I said from a former Champs.
What an awesome machine.. imagine how it's like if it had come with even the same powertrain as the Tiguan Allspace R-Line.. 220hp and 4Motion..
Hmm.. the previous Arteon (launched elsewhere like Singapore ) have actually 280bhp horsepower instead of the current 190bhp and 350NM of Torque instead of 320NM now. :X
After watching the RS6 video, the Arteon looks slow. Nice driving as always YS.

Great video! You are my favourite car review channel cause I love to drive up Genting too! But possibly to be more critical for future car reviews? Things like noise insulation poor, ride too firm, too much body roll, what competitors are better in what aspects etc.. perhaps even build quality and even reliability based on your experience cause right now every car you drive seems equally good no matter the brand or power. E.g perhaps this Arteon vs the Mazda 6 2.5?

A handsome and sporty Arteon deserve a better engine like the Golf "R". Enuff said.
this reminds of the drive i had last late evening in my skoda octavia 3 1.8 TSI 180HP, also made on MQB platform, similar engine, similar power to weight ratio with this car. Mine is manual and also Skoda lends more to confort rather than stability in corners, but damn, it was a fun "aggresive-ish" drive, pumped me with some adrenaline i can tell you that. I love the engine character, very free revving, very responsive, very smooth power delivery and liniar (mine is limited to 250Nm unfortunately, but still good enough). Maybe one day i'll upgrade to an arteon, since it fits the same category as my Octavia, but one class higher.
Wow, I love the fact that you can buy a manual. Over here, manuals are very rare, and almost non- existent in some brands.

@@YSKhongDrivingyes, in Europe manuals are still available. Frankly, this engine kinda needs an automatic because i can't really do the shifts as fast as the dsg, but it's more involving.

Hello uncle, I just want to ask you something. How does it feels when doing the shifting manually? Does the dct responded the way you wanted or a bit tad slower in each drive mode?
It responds quickly enough.

The car is built as an executive sedan, and behaves like that in so far as NVH is concerned.

Brilliant video uncle :) Brilliant review however the only thing that disappoints me is that :
1. VW brought the Arteon quite “late” into Malaysia (while in Canada n Singapore we have it for almost 2 years)
2. VW’s decision to launch the Arteon as a CKD vehicle (my personal preference cuz if I were to buy a continental car I would rather have a CBU version)
3. VW Malaysia detuned the Arteon to 190 PS , with no 4Motion All Wheel Drive System and sunroof option...(To me it’s just horrendous...a VW is suppose to be fun and utterly brilliant to drive)
Despite all these complaints from a VW Arteon R-Line owner living in Canada...I still envy the Malaysian version for having the Golf R steering wheel as a standard equipment. Cheerios everyone :)
I think the decision to make it a CKD did impact the launch timing, and also the Covid 19 issuue contributed. to it. some people may prefer a CBU, but the majority of people will appreciate the CKD programme as it brings the price down to a decent level. We are already paying high prices for cars here in Malaysia. Thanks for your input anyway, Cheers.
We would also rather have Conti cars as CBU given the choice but a VW Arteon 280PS 4Motion alrdy cost USD58k. I am sure most Canadians and Yankees will jump. Brsides, Malaysia is a tyropical country. Sunroof is a waste of space and option.

Depends on your lines. I can make it screech everytime, for effect. Fastest is when it just starts to screech.

If this car can equipped 4 motion with slightly higher output, should be perfect.
Every car with 4Motion and additional power will be nice, hahaha.
Overall handling, driving dynamic etc between Arteon R-Line and Honda Accord 1.5 Turbo which one is a better buy? No wireless charger, USB port at the back is quite a let down.
Basically it is a choice of a 1.5 litre turbo or a 2.0 turbo tuned conservatively, amd a choice of a cvt versus a 7 speed dct. Both cars are similar in size, one Japanese one German, both good. Take your pick. Wireless charger is not a deal breaker, I should think.

Cabin is very quiet. Stable when goes through the stride. I think should be better than Camry.
More then enough i can see uncle YS more enjoyable to drive compare too 800 bhp audi... Uncle able to floor it....and enjoy the drive....the audi is monster uncle not even floor 1/4 the pedal

It fares very well, and power is very good, compared to the others.
Seems like driving up better than the Volvo S60.
Uncle is the new 1.4 tiguan have smooth driving? And responsive engine? Is it ideal for 7 seater?
