      Why does a lut not belong in a tutorial video????

    • @gamger5583
      @gamger5583 Pƙed 2 lety +2

      @@kyrahirsch4367 because a tutorial is all about giving you the knowledge to get from Point A to Point B. Because a LUT effectively skips a whole bunch of steps, unless the tutorial provides a link to the LUT or is "how to apply a LUT," then it really fails to be a tutorial.
      Same goes for Plug-ins, in my book. If someone has a plug-in in their video, they had better explicitly state so in their title.

    Very comprehensive tutorial that deserves a lot of respect and really teaches people to rescue a botched shot.
    Because what one needs to realize is that the joker look is not "faked" like this here, it has been filmed.
    So the most important thing you need to learn to do as a color graded is to be part of pre-production and tie yourself to a DOP to get the right look from the get-go.
    The shot used here lacks the depth, the multi shade light , the clarity and the other masterwork a good DOP provides to make the colorists life easier.
    But yeah, the techniques used to come close are very well explained...well done :)

  • @thecyclingcatmusictravel6297

    Hey Waqas, so I prophesied earlier this year that you would have 40k subscribers on this channel by the end of the year. Oh well, I came up a bit short. Might have to extend that by another couple of months, seeing you again a few thousand everytime you drop a video tutorial ;)

For example,i create a specific colour for skin tone,is there any way to apply this skin colour automatically to all other scenes contain faces with skins? Please make a tutorial on how to apply grading/correction to many shots and gain time on editing fast

    Great tutorial! I ran into a problem with the layer nodes though. When I add the key for the skin tones and then go to the BG node, either nothing changes when I change the gamma or everything changes and it just completely bypasses my skin tone selection. Any help? Did I not make the layer nodes correctly?
    Thanks in advance.

      I have the same issue!

    • @ZeNoNThErMaL
      @ZeNoNThErMaL Pƙed 4 lety

      Rasmus Frostell I think I got it to work. So after you do the first two nodes and then create the third. You create the layer nodes. Then you have to turn off all the layer nodes except the first one. Do the look on there and then turn on the second layer node. It’ll revert your image back to normal but don’t worry. You then select the skin tones or whatever you want to stay neutral on the second layer node and that’ll fix the problem. Basically the newer layer node will overwrite the older layer node. So you select whatever you want to “cut out” of the look on the newer layer nodes. Does that make sense?
