=@@sharonryan437 .. I'm just a beginner too. I think the numbers 2+2+2+2=8 It's the number of single stiches you start out with, then for every dot you add 2 more. Don't forget she is just making a 'short sample' not an entire blanket. This you add as many as you need to make the size blanket you want. I hope I didn't confuse you more.

Thanks for this. As a new beginner (I haven’t done this for years) one thing I found is not to hold the yarn too tightly. My first attempt was out of shape and when I redid it, it was much better. 😊
