You have a great channel and you are very knowledgeable. I think if you stick with this, your channel will grow substantially. Keep at it, brother.
As a Vikings fan I think he did lose some of the explosive he once had. At the same time I do thing play calling in the run game was not very creative and forced Dalvin to run inside more which is not best suited for his skill set.
Dalvin Cook and Derrick Henry have 3 combined seasons with 5+ ypc in 13 years. Chubb is going for his SIXTH in SIX years this season.
Ppl said the same thing about jamal charles when the discussion was AP vs Lynch. Anyone hear the name jamal charles since he stopped playing? No one still talking about ypc? Didnt think so.
Chubbs a beast but ypc can br a tricky stat when it comes to talking about RB effectiveness. That being said I would prefer Chubb over Cook in 2023.
Chubb also has phenomenal run blocking. Not to say Chubb isn’t elite, just saying.
@@treyvon8108 not sure what ur first or last line is referring to i think theres a mix up there but pass blocking is crazy underrated for Rbs in the modern era.
What does Chubb have to do with the question the man proposed?
Pass protection*
He's the best in the business at a loss of one.
He’s good when it comes to clutch “home run”, runs late in games. Besides from that he led the entire NFL with zero/negative yardage runs. He’s not someone you should continue with to establish the run game, but he’s someone that can provide a clutch jolt to a struggling team.
That’s in part too Vikes having weak spots on the line and he played with a injury most of the yr. This yr Dalvin would not hit gaps with the same intensity as past yrs, he was fidgety and hesitant. Even with all that and with what you said amongst RBs that get starter type Carrie’s his YPC was still towards the top. He is easily still a top RB
As a Vikings fan, Dalvin Cook’s issue is that you can’t trust him in short yardage, he has no power, he is not a power back. If it’s 3rd or 4th and 1 he almost never gets the yard, and on the goal line he rarely get that yard easily, and the Vikes usually have to run multiple plays on the goal line and get creative because of it.
He is athletic and a niche player, that needs to be complemented by a physical o line and power back RB2 to be used in short yardage situations. He is just too injury prone and is not confident running directly into contact, and can always be tackled by his shoes and by arm tackles.
He is however athletic af and great in open space and when he gets to 2nd level of defense.
Awesome breakdown! He is solid in blitz pickup and 3rd down as a short yardage receiver though?
True....Cook is still a good RB. However Mattison is almost as good as Cook and for MUCH less money. That is why the Vikings GM will trade or cut him in the next week or 2. Keep an eye on DeWayne Mcbride this year as the Vikings dark horse RB.
Sure, maybe Mattison is 70-80% of Cook, the problem is that the choice was to pass on Mattison because Cook was under contract. You don't save Cook's contract because you sign Mattison. The Vikes have to pay or write off a big chunk of Cook's salary either way. So keeping Mattison and cutting Cook costs nearly as much as keeping Cook and Mattison. The trade market for Cook or any RB is almost non-existent so that's really just wishful thinking.
@@robe2504 Perhaps my source is incorrect. But I read the Vikings will save 9 million by cutting Cook. or save 12 million if they can trade him. True the trade compensation would be a 6-7th round pick. But getting that $$ off the books is the key. 3 million dead cap hit if they out right cut him.
@@rainmaker6335 According to OTC cutting him is $5m dead cap this year, and $9m savings, but I'm pretty sure the post June 1st just means the $3m dead cap hit for 2024 is also locked in.
A trade is much better because the dead cap hit is only $3m with 12m saving, but I think the future liability carries over too, to the new team. But the trade market is extremely weak and RBs like Kareem Hunt and Zeke are FAs with no contract hangovers or draft capital needed.
I think a trade is very wishful thinking by some Vikes fans that have never looked at other teams rosters, salary cap situation or team situation. There just aren't any logical buyers, which we've seen with Ekeler and Henry also getting no bites.
Sure Kwesi can get some cap relief, but that's also not much use unless they're going to spend it on someone better. Kwesi already has some spare cap space that he has not used.
I honestly don't see much changing, unless they need that extra few million to pull off a major deal like Hopkins or similar. Otherwise they could wait for an injury and an in season trade, or just keep Cook for the season, and trade or release him next season when his dead cap hit is only $3m, and there might be a better market.
I don't see the point of just getting rid of him, when he is still the best RB on the roster by a mile. I think Nwangwu is the guy in trouble. A Spielman pick who has shown nothing as a RB.
Yeah he is obviously still good enough!
How about a video on how consistent Nick Chubb is?? 5+ypc every year. Literally nobody has ever done it.
Cook could potentially solve one of the Chargers' biggest problem on offense.
He's still good sometimes his oline let him down but he was less efficient at times too. This year will be telling.
The Vikings were very erratic last season with their game planning and play calling. I can still recall several games where everyone watching is just scratching their heads wondering what they were seeing.
@@crazyworld54321 Sounds like most Browns fans when Stefanski pulls his WTF plays every game.
Yes he's still a top RB.
How many big 1st downs did he get last years👍
With the struggles of Ingram , and the interior at times last season, many tines u had a guy in the pocket before the handoff
Would like to see his numbers less Ingram misses( do think he will still be a good Guard)
Also pass focus hurt Cook's numbers
Yes short career for RBs
Yes they have a stable full of good RBs behind him
Yes cap space can be used to bump up Danielle Hunter
He's still a great RB arguably top 5
On inside zone, Dalvin does not look at the cutback (a mandatory thing in zone). Dalvin is misused on inside zone. He tends to pick his way thru, and not explode into the zone area.
The other issue he has is he shuffles .....his feet get tripped up a lot as he does not pick up his feet well.
Love the player and quite frankly he plays with an O-line that is one of the WORST run blocking lines I have ever seen. He has some inherent issues tho.
actually the Vikings O line grades well in the run game but poor in passing situations .
He’s good but he’s not $12 million dollars good. The Vikings have a plethora of RBs so I could see Cook being a cap casualty.
Sure, but the Vikes are stuck with about $8m of that $12m in dead cap, so that's not really an answer. They can escape for only a $3m dead cap hit next year, but right now they'd be paying Cook more to play for someone else than they'd save from cutting him. They already have cap space now if they want to add a FA or two, so what is the point of cutting him for money that they're not using anyway.
@@robe2504 Vikings would save over $11 million if they cut him now, since it’s past June 1st. Do some research my guy.
@@armen_ar323 According to OTC it's $9m this year, but I believe because it's post June 1st they will also incur another $3m dead cap hit in 2024.
So the total dead cap hit remains $8m - it's just spread over too seasons.
Do some better research my guy...
Also, saving the cap space doesn't add an value unless they do something with it. So unless Kwesi is planning a move for Hopkins or similar - how does cutting Cook make the roster or team better my guy???
Especially when Kwesi might actually be able to trade him in season for some value if someone else's RB1 is injured.
Cook will probably have the same trade value at the end of the 2023 season anyway, because his 2024 contract is really easy to get out of (only 3m guaranteed or dead) which would be a much easier contract to trade.
So wise guy, unless you have a great idea on what Kwesi might do with that cap saving, cutting Cook right now doesn't seem a very likely move.
@@robe2504 Added salary cap space can be used even if you don’t add any players. It’s called contract extensions. Do some research my guy.
Haven't seen him since surgery to his shoulder, so that could be determining factor, if it was a
100% successful jn healing , he actually maybe as good as b4 the inury? I think tho the team transcended more to the passing game , also several times they chose to pass on 4th &less then a yrd, Chandler is getting robbed of his youth. & Really should be given plenty of hand offs n preseason games , McBride is valuable especially goaline or 3rd or4th & short , hes very interesting to watch shedding defenders , a lighter Jerome bettis , ? If they trade , his baggage will lower his value 3-4round pick
He’s still good but he’s not as explosive and powerful as he once was and a big issue is he left so many yards and TDs on the field because of his footing he slipped so much especially on plays when he had space he’s good but he’s not the same player he was 2 years ago can he get back to that? Yes he could get back but he’s a little injury prone and that’s a whole other issue
Most of your video was missing. Please fix it.

Dude, this could have been a 3 min video.
The Oline is dreadful. It is a miracle that there is a running game.
I think the O Line was rated 13th for run blocking. Dreadful means something different to that.
