Punk tear got kicked in the nuts and snow is gone.
It’s not as severe as the spright hits but it does hur (some of) the deck(s)
Getting rid of halq and ruler is a decent tear hit. The deck itself isn't broken it's the stuff it mills and what it can go into that's the problem. The deck feels fairly mid range with the cards in archetype. The only card in the deck that feels truly broken is the card that mills from hand turn 0.

PUNK was basically the third strongest "deck" or at least central engine of the other strong decks really not a hit to tear at all.

Really glad Konami made us wait for this absolutely wonderful list! They really managed to address all the problems with the format, and totally didn't just pave the way for Tearlaments to steamroll every other deck!

Well at least with Halq gone, you can’t just summon wonder magician for free to pop scythe then synchro into barrone. Now you need more dedicated main deck ways to trigger scythe as long as they don’t make DPE super accessible again.
Chaos Ruler was probably a hit to PUNK. Although it's such a generic and powerful card that it deserved to get hit on its own
Now that it's gone I have realized just how much I like Chaos Ruler. It might've been my favourite card... Damn

Reboot being banned is not questionable at all, its one of the few hits on this list that are 100% correct. Reboot is Mystic Mine for backrow decks.
Dante may be the hide and seek champion, but mystic mine is standing in the living room wearing a lampshade over its head and konami still can't find and execute it
Sad to see Halq gone since it was the only thing keeping my shitty rogue deck alive but can't say it wasn't broken, the writing's been on the wall for a while.

Chaos Ruler isn't even comparable to Painful Choice. PC let you choose any 5 from deck while Ruler is excavate 5 choose 1 monster that isn't Ash.

This was a Tear buff list above all else. With mavens coming out this was so the deck has 0 competition with the ishizu stuff.

Another 12 were Tearlament, half of which were running Spright engines

I am not a Mystic Mine Player but just love it was not hit. People deserve it for their behaviour.
I think the Spright engine should just be like limiting Elf and Gigantic then semi limited Blue Jet and Starter rather than keep hitting the frog package I know it not a big of a deal but I think consistentcy hit I think is just enough to slow down a bit.
You do know that Konami doesn't hit new released cards

They're trying to kill the TCG so everyone plays Master Duel. It's either play AFK online or AFK in paper.
You do realize that Konami just killed every Tier 1 in MD that *isn’t* Branded Despia, right?
It was prior to the new list: SS-Tenyi, Adventure-Tenyi, Adventure-Prank, and Despia.
Then they Banned Halq, and hit two of the Adventure engine.
The closest thing we’ve got to a consistent contender versus Branded-D is SS-Tenyi w/ Droplets and a play set of Rivalry of Warlords.
MD or TCG, Konami’s squeezing out one alternative to their newest cards after another.
I think this game genuinely sucks now.

I remember Yu-Gi-Oh before a banlist, and this is one of the worst banlists I've ever seen in the entire game's existence. Jfc they literally could've hit Halq, Mine, and Scythe, and that would've been a better way to balance the game over hitting frogs. Konami acts like the one niche frog combo is a problem when we still have Mystic Mine at x3

Ronin at leadt hits Spright, but Tear needs a direct hit.
@@GreyVictory1510 It only hits Spright that runs toads, which while is hit, doesn’t have any impact on Adventure Spright and the other combos people are running. Plus Tearlament tends to be a much bigger problem than Spright Frog imo
Hitting halq means hitting the relevant scythe/halq combo you dumbass, also all spright lists ran toad and toad was the biggest threat in that deck it wasn't "niche" as your casual ass describing it to be lol. The only thing they missed is mystic mine and obviously they wont hit tear because its a new deck idk why people aren't used to this idea already ffs

I thought about it tho, and with Curious still legal then yeah Ruler needs to stay banned. Mills + 2 bodies for free is just stupid with that card around. Then again imo Curious would've been just a far better hit. Ruler wouldn't be the problem if it only added a Masque into Uni to the endboard in exchange for a way more fragile combo.
I really dont think the ronin hit kills the spright toad, it just slows it a little/ forces an elf effect to use on swap

The halq and chaos ruler hit hurt my deck hard
Most synchro decks are probably malding with the halq ban but the level 4 mathmech tuners ( read all of the tuners) are just chilling making big boi’s ( sorry if rude)
"Synchro" decks when they can no longer summon almost any material from deck with no restrictions because they made a link-2. (this is devastating to their sky striker synchro plays)

@@engiopdf8745 Honestly, the loss of Chaos Ruler was significantly worse. It basically ruined Z-ARC Turbo (effectively making Pendulum Magician super bricky as well), RDA, literally any rogue deck that required PUNK engine to stay even remotely playable
tear barely got touched even though it is performing better than spright. Reboot hit is good, but putting appointer at 1 has similar problems to reboot at 1. snow, halq and magical ruler hits are good. You can't loop substitoad with ronin anymore but I don't get why you would bring it back in the first place tbh. And of course no fucking mine ban, which makes this list immediately garbage.
The only way Mystic Mine is eating a ban is if Konami decides they want to free Maxx C.
They want cards like that to exist to “reign in Combo.” Personally, I’d rather deal with Maxx C, at least with it I can still play the damn game
Maxx C is probs just as, if not more toxic than mystic mine. Both do shutdown your turn. Yea you can “still play” under maxx C but the trade-off is not worth giving your opponent 20 cards
the absurd part is, that all the combos deck are playing mystic mine too, so why play a deck that focuses on control that can’t otk, when you can play an otk deck that plays mystic mine too

"Where was Scythe?"
Most of the issues people had with Scythe were with Dagda + Halq, since Dagda sets Scythe and then Halq can tag out into Wonder Magician to pop the Scythe to Quick Synchro into Baronne. Without Halq, you're forced into R4NKS to pop Scythe via Tornado Dragon if you're that Desperate for a Scythe Lock. Or you're playing Sanctum; which can just be outright stopped anyway.

FINALLY DEEP SEA DIVA IS NOT JUST HALQIFIBRAX TURBO but man, no Mine...
I stopped playing the game during 2016 and waited a lot for this list to come back and play competitive. Mystic Mine being at 3 and tear starting to become tier 0 won't make me spend money on a game I won't enjoy. The lack of communication from Konami on top of the other issues such as short prints and not hearing feedback from the community is absurd at this point.

I feel so mixed on this banlist. On one hand they hit spright hard and banned halq, but on the other hand they didn't ban the most toxic card in the format(Mystic mine) and didn't hit tear at all, so it looks like we're getting a tier 0 tear format bois.

I'll say this much about Cyber Jar at minimum it has potential maybe doing something if it can find a home for it. As if it can be set from deck. or be used in other ways it's a solid way to force out things and force hand traps to be summoned.
Hardest thing is there's not a lot of printings and thanks to goat it's a bit more expensive. but I'd say it's more of a "wild card" coming off the list.
It can be searched with cybernetic horizon which makes him pretty easy to add to your hand and there's plenty of ways to flip him face up so I can see some meme decks using it
@@gabrielhoelzle8476 I don't know the modern meta as much but it's still a solid card. As I said it's the type of card that is a bit of a "wild card" because it's hard to tell in the modern game because it's been banned for so long and there's a lot more things it's effect can do in the game now.
It could be fine if we were in a different format. You legit are making your opponent go +5. Even though hand traps died down we still have many board breakers that you could just be running into.

At this point I believe Konami is reprinting mystic mine and don't want to ban it
well i guess it's time to get some mines for my marincess deck, with snow and toad being no more and mine still there thats a huge buff to marincess. it already wasn't that far of from being a good deck but now they really made it to easy for me.
Cyber jar could be funny with mine if you play an empty jar deck. Most of the deck is spell/traps so you get 5 cards and your opponent gets 3-5 monsters that they can't use due to mine
