Stockholm is the capital of Sweden. It has the most populous urban area in Sweden as well as in Scandinavia. 1 million people live in the municipality, approximately 1.6 million in the urban area, and 2.4 million in the metropolitan area. The city stretches across fourteen islands where Lake Mälaren flows into the Baltic Sea. Outside the city to the east, and along the coast, is the island chain of the Stockholm archipelago. The area has been settled since the Stone Age, in the 6th millennium BC, and was founded as a city in 1252 by Swedish statesman Birger Jarl. It is also the county seat of Stockholm County.

Hi Daniel! Great walk in central Stockholm. It crossed my mind as you walked that you actually hit three places that has been gathering points for young people in different times. Berzelii park, where the mouse family is, was a place for young people in the 50s and they where into jazz music. Kungsgatan (The Kings Street) was the street where what we call ”raggare” cruised with their big american cars, listening to Elvis, Jerry Lee Lewis, Chuck Berry and others in the late 50s and the 60s. And Hötorget (The Heymarket) was the place for youngsters known as ”mods” in the mid 60s, and they liked bands like Beatles, Stones, The Who, Kinks and some Swedish bands like Tages, Shanes and so on. Thank you for walking in the cold weather. At least the sun was out. We here in the Chicago area have snow/rain mixture today and probably again over the weekend. UGH. You need to get hand warmers for your mittens. LOL You don't want frostbite. Stay warm and go get a coffee. Glad you are back to walking.
I ws in Stockholm in late October and stayed at Alvsjö near Langsjöplan. Also visited Vaxholm. Enjoyed so much. Will be back! Thanks for the 'walk'

Another fab video! Rarely get snow in England these days. I went to Sweden one winter a few years ago. Cold but a more bearable dry cold than the damp cold we get in the UK.

in Sweden winter is pretty cold! The other day, i have seen that in nothern Sweden the temperature reached minus 40?

Great video as always! If we get snow in the Netherlands, and it also does not melt away immediately, its kind of a miracle. Although most people prefer frozen lakes and rivers to iceskate on, which also rarely happens (it doesnt freeze enough for that, last time is at least a few years ago).

In 22:57 there is something that could lead to a real "Swedísism" if something less valuable (like a mitten) is lost, pick it up, hang it somewhere close where it is easy to see, so that the owner easily could find (or before the snow-plough).... If it is valuable - bring it to the police (otherwise it is theft) the rightful owner would have to pay finders fee...
