How did I not know about these two artists? This popped up on my CZcams feed yesterday and I was totally mesmerized. I spent most of the afternoon listening to Beegie's piano playing which is superb. The chord progressions are always well thought out and expressive. The Great American Songbook has a wonderful interpreter in Monica Ramey.

Having just discovered Beegie in the past few months, it was a pleasure to happen upon Monica Ramey's fine rendition of this difficult ballad. Seems like an endless new world to explore of singers and side musicians who have performed with this exceptional pianist.

To my shame have never heard of Beegie Adair. What a pianist . The singer, nothing great, sorry. I love the Tony Bennett and Bill Evans version f this lovely song, and this pianist reminds me of Bill Evans. I think Monica Ramey should try not shout in the higher range. The definition of a good singer - if they can sing the higher range quiet and the lower range loud. - try it, it’s not easy
She did sing the "higher range" quietly at one point. Listen again. There's also a whole lot more to the definition of a good singer. If she was being accompanied by Beegie in a professional setting (true here), one might say that's another definition of a good singer.
