🔥🔥🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾 thank god everything is fine! I changed my transmission fluid around April, I’m going to change it again in a month or 2. My maxima has over 224K 😃😃
Wow 224k original cvt I guess. Hope it can make it lol
I’m at 226K rn ☠️☠️☠️
did you just do regular transmission changes ? or did you do extra maintenance to keep it running
@@clipsmtc only transmission fluid change, I’m at 237K miles now
Yo boe you still on here?
Never thought you could do this at home. Wish I would have saw this video a couple months ago. Major props for the DIY man.
Ok ok
This is a very sweet vid
N even sweeter ride however,
U do realize u have two filters right
1, screen filter inside pan
PS needs to be clean at least every other oil change
N the actual paper filter
Every 35 to 40 miles.
Also tourque pan bolt to
109 inch lbs
N drain 🔩 to 15 to 16 pounds
N after all work done shift through all gears starting in each for 10 seconds
Then drive causious for the first couple of hours
Ps ,
Always replace pan gasket saves lots of headaches 😆.
Yeah I just did the basics. I was gonna do the manual swap anyway. If I was gonna keep the cvt for longer time I would have done that too
Thanks for this bro! I'm changing mine tomorrow!
How did that go?
@@HorsepowerLabs Easy! I followed all the steps man and changed the filter too and so far so good. I do notice an easier feeling shift both up and down. I appreciate the tutorial!
Old man and a dad here. Chock the rear tires when jacking and FOR THE LOVE OF GOD JACK STANDS
lol thanks. I always use jack stands now. I forgot there.
Nice ride bro! 🔥. Where did you buy the oil and filter?
Many thanks for the outstanding video. I have to do this job on my girlfriend’s 2013 Maxima. It’s at 75K miles.
You still have time to do it. Easy job
Jackstands bro
I know dingos will fight me tooth and nail with this comment but you DO NOT NEED TO USE Nissans fluid. Look, if you look in your owners manual? They actually try to tell you to use nissans washer fluid only, so of course they going to try to get you to buy their overpriced crap. You and I both know companies like valvoline have their shit in order better than nissan did at this time. Heck even their CEO was wanted at this time by interpol. I rest my case, dont let nissan trick you and steal more out of you. DO YOUR RESEARCH folks.
You right I seen people do valvoline and they are good. I went with Nissan cus I got a good deal and wasn’t bad idea to use it
Jesus Christ the quality of this video 😍 the intro the way you did everything 💯
Thank you.. waiting for your video to come out soon
getting under your car without jackstands is crazy
I use them now
Do u need consumables like gasket, anything etc?
No I didn’t
I have a 2013...never changed it...should I go to dealer or ammco? Last ammco sold me a bad engine for my 2005 altima
Video was weak no step by step just flashes of work done
awesome
hey I really like how your vehicle looks... keep going Bro... I have a question where did you get the thing what is under your front lip... 🔥🔥 nice car!!
Thank you… the splitter I got from @splittersmypepin you can check him out on Instagram and Facebook
Nice work. What year is your Maxi? I have a 2014.😊
Did you have the car level when you drain & filled
Hey you didn't have any issues other than that whinging noise? I currently have that whinning noise and.......barely no reverse or foward...
No just the whine and loss of power. It got better after the oil change tho
Mine is a 2014 maxima. Do I need to drop the transmission pan and change out the screen and clean and metal debris that’s on the magnets or just change the filter only and transmission fluid?
It depends how much you wanna do. I didn’t do it because I was going to swap the car if not I would have done it to
What about the rumors of people changing the fluid and there cvts going bad? I’m at 74k miles. Not sure if it’s ever been done I bought it at 68k 2 years ago
You can still do it .. yeah some people goes bad after changing the fluid but depends if they mess up the amount they put back or so
@@HorsepowerLabs thank you so much!!
Jack stands ..
I have 65k miles on my 2011 maxima and never did a transmission fluid change. Do you suggest I should get it done?
Im scared to do it because i heard alot of things that it can mess up the car or it will run different… is that true?
you should do it every 20-40k miles so your transmission last longer
@@yassermourad7083 don’t wait too long then the more chance you can get slippage and ruin the cvt. At 65k ur good Nissan even says every 60k although I suggest every 20-30k. I have 122k on my 07 and have no problems I change it every 20k.
I haven’t done it until now. 198,000 miles.. so far so good. I’d say do it because you still don’t have many miles just make sure you do it right and measure the oil. If you take to a mechanic, be careful with how they do it and what fluid they put. You don’t want them to add even a drop of regular oil that’s not CVT
@@HorsepowerLabs when do you guys suggest me to do it . Im on 65k rn but pervious owner didnt think he did his transmission fluid change.
You mentioned everything about your car in description, except the part numbers you serviced the car with.
I’ll try to put some links in there
In a long term on owning a Maxima, did you encounter any major issues?
No just some leaks and power steering pump went out. Radiator small stuff like that
Did you replaced filter before or after draining transmission fluid? Let me know thanks
I drained all fluid then changed the filter then put new fluid in
You don't have any jack stands up under your car. You don't trust any jack .And you should have showed how to remove the transmission dip stick
I’ve learned more about safety
Would replacing the filters and oil with new ones cause for it to not shift at all? Getting codes P0868 (low pressure) and P0826 (up/down shift switch)
It shouldn’t. If you have correct oil amount and filters
A
Changed my fluid today
How it go?
@@HorsepowerLabs Car is way faster and smoother
@@kaamsogrimm oh yeah I bet
Where did you get that vent on the bumper?
Amazon has them. I have a link to it in the description
My maxima has 101,000 on it i guess it about time for me....i bought it with 20,000 miles in 14
I got mine with 50,000 several years ago. Now I’m on 198,000
@@HorsepowerLabs wow mine is an 11
Bro you realize theres another filter that you must drop the CVT cover/pan in order to access, right?
Yeah but didn’t want to go through all that
@@HorsepowerLabs bro you understand that its necessary right? To prevent CVT failure. It's not hard, and costs a lot less than a new CVT (3,500.00). Pay a little now or a lot later is the name of the game. Food for thought.
Hi Aaron Leon, I've got all the OEM parts (bolt on filter and NS2) AND - > pan bolts (20) and gasket from NissanPartsOnline.
Can't find advice on whether to put any sealant on big pan gasket or not. Any advice appreciated!!
You sure its safe to jack car up from front like that? Jack points are different on car diagram
Yeah just put jack stand on the sides
What About A Trans Oil Cooler
A trans cooler is a good mod. Was looking into one myself. I heard the OEM Nissan works from the other cars. Not sure which exact models. If not then the aftermarket works
How much did you pay for the NS2 Fluid itself? I’ve been seeing 5 Quarts for $100+. Did you spend this much?
I went to the dealer today and got the filter and the CVT was 21.95 per quart! I opted for the Valvoline CVT NS2 version I'm changing mine tomorrow.
You can also buy from nissanpartsdeal online
I paid $145 plus sales tax for the filter and fluid together, AutoZone.
Do I really have to use Nissan cvt fluid or can I use the valvoline cvt fluid?
parts number would be nice
oye bro una pregunta cambie mi transmision hace poco y el mecanico me dijo que se tiene que hacer el cambio cada anno porque se tiene que cambiar un filtro .
Crees que sea necesario?
So tienes transmission nueva??? Y el a site de transmisión se cambia cada 40,000 a 60,000 millas. Por el libro de Nissan
@@HorsepowerLabs
30 a 35mil
Osea una vez por año.
I have 2011 maxima 90k i dont know if it ever got change ,is it safe at 90k ?
Yeah definitely 👍
Hi how often do you change your transmission fluid?
That was my first time. But in the manual it says the interval. I don’t know it by memory
Hi all, Need some advice.
I've got all the OEM parts (bolt on filter and NS2 Fluid) AND - > pan bolts (20) and gasket from NissanPartsOnline.
Can't find advice on whether to put any sealant on big pan gasket or not. Any advice appreciated!!
When the shop did mine I think they put some around the oil pan
@@HorsepowerLabs- Thanks. Did you ever drop the tranny pan to clean it out and to check for metal and varnish?
@@HorsepowerLabs I watched your video again and forgot to ask: What center point are you using your jack on? The manual doesnt show any center jack points up front, just the 2 control arm spots and the pinch welds on each side. Thanks again!
@@nickjones9239 it’s a lump on subframe
Any tips on how to break it loose. Mines hella hard to unscrew
Sorry for being late but try get an extension. If it’s longer it’s easier to take off
@@HorsepowerLabs lol it’s all good I was turning it the wrong way. I was able to do it the same day. Car runs a lot better.
How did you take off the lock where you put the fluid in
It’s a special hex type key
So how many quarts of CVT fluid did you end up buying and using in total
Gna need 11
5 quarts but depends how much you take out
Whats the trans oil capacity I'm going to do it myself
When you change and do what I did. It’s like 4 to 5 quarts
Mine got 91K milles, 3rd owner, I should make this ?
Yeah it be a good idea. The fluid change help my car out
havent hit 100k yet only at 96 should i wait or go ahead and get it done
Go ahead and do it bro.
my guy put the period😳
@@av3cs 😂
After how many miles can I change my transmission oil??🤔
Should be every 40k to 60k more like 60
I would change it Once a year to be safe nissan cvt are terrible
does it matter if my car is automatic? dumb question
To change fluid no. It can be any
Where’s da giveaway?? 👀👀
Coming very soon. I’m trying to figure out how to do it. Since it’s the first one.
Did you have any codes on the trans?
Yeah It had code I think 868. It’s called kiss of death 😂
@@HorsepowerLabs LMAOO I got the same code but if you did a drain I think I’ll do the same thanks man
@@kaamsogrimm anytime bro. So far the car has been good
