Hi Ourcoffeeshelter. Nice video. Thank you.
I am contemplating buying the HG-1 Prime.
I have a 2021 Olympia Cremina and currently use a Kinu M47 Classic to grind my coffee.
Have been thinking of buying the Olympia Moca Grinder to go with my Cremina for some time now (knowing it is not a single dose grinder and use it for my day to day favourite beans) and then for single dosing use my Kinu M47.
I generally prefer medium to dark roasts and drink mainly double shot small cappucino's (2/3rd espresso with 1/3rd steamed milk) (which I would use my OLympia Moca if I bought one) although in the late afternoon I like a double shot espresso from a light roasted bean (which I use my Kinu M47 for).
As the Olympia Moca is similar price to the HG-1 Prime (HG-1Prime has to be shipped to the UK), I am now wondering what is the best route for me to take i.e. buy the HG-1 Prime and sell the Kinu M47 and have just one hand grinder to do all or buy the Olympia Moca and keep the Kinu M47 with having two grinders with different burrs for different coffee types ? Only problem I have with this theory is my medium to dark roast beans will be ground with the Moca (i.e. flat burrs) and my light roasted beans with the Kinu M47 (i..e conical burrs) which is the wrong way around for the burr sets for the coffee types !
Any suggestions on my choosing the best route for my grinder would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Mark! Thank you for the kind words. We have been testing the DF64 electric grinder which uses 64mm flat burrs. We added the SSP Multipurpose burrs which are extremly delicious with filter coffee and long extraction espresso. There are multiple grinder that uses the 64mm flat burrs and your top choices are probably the DF64, or the KopiDeva which is based in the UK and very promising. Regarding the HG-1 Prime, it is a beautiful hand grinder, we will speak about it in details in our final review. However, we feel that there are more enjoyable options at that price range. Regarding dark roast and light roast, in general, a conical burr might be better with dark roast as it give it a creamer texture, whereas a high clarity flat burrs like the SSP Multipurpose will give you all the enjoyable tasting notes even with 50, 60, or even 70 second extraction with a ratio of 1/2. I would say don't over stress your self regarding tasting notes, you will be super happy with the DF64 as a new experience. Feel free to let us know your thoughts, we will be happy to discuss this further either here or on Instagram. Have a lovely day! 🤍☕

@@ourcoffeeshelter Thank you for your concise and speedy reply. Much appreciated.
I actually bought a DF64 first back in October last year. I didn't use it though as I didn't like the form factor of it so I sent it back to the UK DF64 Dealer. Same reason why I haven't bought a Niche i.e. don't like it's form factor.
For me, the form factor of a grinder and an espresso machine is an important criteria for me as well as it making great coffee grounds and great espresso. Hence me looking at the Olympia Moca Grinder as it is similar design and look to my Cremina.
I have looked at all the other medium to high end single dose grinders i.e. Weber Key, Lagom P64 etc. and although they appear to be great grinders to my eyes they look out of place next to a Cremina. The HG-1 Prime isn't as direct / out of place looking than the other medium to high end single dose grinders next to a Cremina and a lot more subtle than the original HG-1 and HG-2 which have the large flywheel.

What about the Kopi Deva, give it a look, the stainless version and the fact that it has a battery might be nice consideration!

@@tc8091 I see, well if your are worried about the sound the HG-1 Prime is not as quite as people might imagine. The reason is that you have to sit it on a surface, and the grinding vibrations of the surface it self plays a role in the noise degree. This is why, a hand held grinder might be the better option. We are planing to test the Omega hand grinder by Mazzer which is probably a perfect grinder for espresso. Stay tuned for that! ☕🤍👏
