In the US the states have more power over themselves than the federal government has. If any State was unprepared then it is the State’s fault. The problem with this country is rooted in the new age mentality of it’s people. Democrats no longer take responsibility for themselves. There is a large group of people in this country who want the government to come tuck them in at night and read them a story and tell them everything will be okay. That is not what this country is founded on. It is not the federal governments responsibility to provide aid to the wealthiest states in the union. That is ridiculous. Also, a virus is not anyone’s fault anymore than a hurricane or an earthquake is. Not a single world leader successfully stopped this virus. Why? Because it’s an impossible task. People die. It sucks but it is true. When did people get so damn soft?.

Sure changed his tone from before. Lots of complaining, while other governors took action much sooner. For being only a back up resource, the Federal Government has had to step in BIGTIME because some governors like cuomo wouldnt lockdown sooner. Trump has had to build hospitals, deliver ships. I remember Cumo saying that he would NOT do a lockdown.

I appreciate his leadership so I have no negatives on how he led during this crises. I would like to add that had everyone wore masks it would have greatly helped reduced the infection rate--that was the CDC's POOR advice. Luckily I could think for myself and I wore mask whenever I had to go out. I like NJ Governor Murphy's update more--he had more content, less preaching; but some people need to hand holding-Cuomo style. Please STOP the yelling-out-window-thank-yous--you are spreading saliva, respiratory fluid into the air to potentially infect others--USE A NONE SALIVA, FLUID SPREADING METHOD OF THANK YOU!!!!!

Poor people have higher rate of deaths in this thing because the rich people (cruise people, people with money to travel, professionals like doctors at conferences, athletes, etc) get infected in China and they bring the virus home and infect the poor suckers who don’t have money for health insurance. While the rich have health insurance to pay for their hospitalization, the poor people die due to a lack of health insurance or inadequate health insurance. Also, being overweight, having diabetes, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, etc in the black and Hispanic community may have contributed to how fatal the virus is in these communities after it has been contracted.

The poor people I know are poor mostly because of the choices they made in life. They did not work hard, study hard, save, or got into drugs or addictions, or did other things to cause their situation. Very few people I know are poor because of no fault of their own, like accidents or disease. There are, of course, some people who are poor because of unforeseen circumstances, and I don't mind supporting them with my own money. But most poor people have no one else to blame but themselves.

No money, just the clothes on their backs fresh off the boat. Most did not speak any English. Guess what? None of us are poor. Many raised families and have their own homes, and their children are mostly doctors, pharmacists, engineers, business owners and doing well, owning their own homes, driving nice cars and living the American dream. Nothing is stopping anyone in this country from succeeding. You just have to work hard and stay away from gangs and don't depend on the governmental welfare system.
We can all go to college and work hard.
