Dear Grace, you may not think so, but I love watching you doing everyday things and chores, black mold or whatever. It’s just so nice to have your company! But I understand very well how it can be hard to find ways to film.

To completely refresh the bathroom you could try re-sealing around the bath and regrouting the tiles, it’s not as difficult as it sounds, I did it myself and it looks brand new now. Boring job but well worth it!
Also for the shower seal you were cleaning you can buy a brand new one from B&Q and cut it to length!
I know it’s a lot more work than cleaning but that would give you a completely fresh base and last years.
Just something I did to my bathroom and thought I’d share.
Love the vlogmas so far! Xx

After you get all the black mold off, consider resealing your grout. It’ll prevent it from coming back. Also, if any of the caulking has black mold, you can cut/peel it away (with a utility or putty knife) and redo it. Makes it all look fresh and new. Don’t put new caulk over old.

The bannister looks lovely. Vinegar will work on lime build up. If it's in the sprayer, fill a bag with vinegar, immerse spray head in it, tie on with string or elastic, leave for couple of hours. Good to see your pal Honor, she's looking well and happy!

Toilet bowl cleaner is GREAT for getting off hard water build up on glass. Just squirt it right on the glass and let it sit for a few minutes and then (with gloves) do some good scrubbing. Worked wonders for me at school when we had white-glove checks!

To treat limescale on shower glass - mix equal quantities white vinegar and Fairy liquid (the Fairy helps the vinegar stick to the glass and the vinegar will prevent too much foam when you rinse it off), sponge it on in a good, covering layer and let it sit for at least half an hour (longer if you like) and then rinse ... you can scrub with a stiff brush for more stubborn deposits. Works like a dream and, of course, no nasty chemicals or gasses

It amazes me that you (and women in general,) can put up their hair completely blind, without even looking at it, while carrying on a conversation (or two,) with a complete stranger. How many times do you have to do that before it becomes second nature? I'm 66 and if I don't pay attention whilst tieing my shoes they come loose and I'm in danger of tripping over the laces.

Grace I am like you! I love Christmas, I have tons of bits I am excited for as I bought new stuff this year, but as much as I want it up, I am delaying doing it (like every year), or otherwise it doesn't feel special and festive! It just becomes home decor! And as I am getting old Christmas always feels less special, especially where we never get snow, so I want to do everything I can to keep it special! Even though yeah, it will suck waiting to put the decs up and not getting super long with them!

House cleaner here! White vinegar helps with limescale build up! If you spray and saturate it for a few mins and then brush at it with a toothbrush or something slightly abrasive over a period of time the limescale will disappear, but unfortunately it is a slow process from my experience!

I use a limescale foam cleaner - CLR foam, if it’s available in the UK. A foam so that it stays on the surface for a while. I also do a scouring powder and scrub hard. Once clean, I keep one of these cleaning wands where you put dish soap (fairy liquid) in the handle and it has a sponge pad at the top. I make a mix of half white vinegar and half dish soap - put the soap in first. Shake the mix and use on the glass, chrome and tiles after a shower and rinse. If you use stronger cleaning white vinegar add a bit of water to the mix.

Some advice from a cleaner...DO NOT USE VIAKAL...IT IS VERY DAMAGING OVER TIME! Order some Kilrock Limescale spray. Spray it on the whole of the glass shower screen and leave it for 5-10mins. Take a dish sponge and scrub in circular motions. If it is really bad use a glass scraper (Stanley one is about £2 in most hardware stores). Rinse off completely with water. Then buff up with a dry cloth 🙂 This will bring that glass up a treat xx
ETA: Also, you can clip in cloths to the Flash mop. Buy a pack of cloths (4 or so) and keep them just for the floor. Soak them in hot water with floor cleaner and squeeze out then use one cloth per room.

For limescale use Cif -- just kinda squirt it all over the glass and spread it around but DON'T use any water at the beginning. Leave it for atleast 30 mins and wipe away with a tissue or washing up liquid and hot water in the end -- works an absolute treat!! The same also makes taps really shiny!

I don’t ever comment butttt I must chip in, best way to clean limescale off glass is Cif bathroom “power&shine” spray. It literally removes it all sooo fast. I do a heavy spray on dry glass and use a scrubby side of the sponge, then do a few more distant sprays if I left limescale accumulating for too long. Leave it for 5-10mins while i clean my sink and toilet and quick scurb again(no elbow grease needed just to agitate the leftover stuff) then just rinse glass down with the shower head. It’s all gone! Even after my worst depressive episodes of leaving it too long, that spray is magical imo 😄

Random question from across the pond, do most people in the UK not have clothes dryers? Whenever i watch youtubers from the uk they are always drying their clothes on stands and other contraptions. I also noticed most of the time the washing machine is in the kitchen which is very different from here so is it a space issue? Just curious. So glad to be watching your vlogmas! You are a delight!

Dryers aren't very common outside of North America in general. But washer and dryers being in the kitchen is also fairly common in North America too. Especially in apartments and slightly older homes. A lot of times they're in a closet like space with doors, but still in the kitchen. I've rarely had it any other way.

Maybe you should spend your money on something that gives you better audio quality. Other bloggers use a microphone clipped to their clothes.
