    We had a massive power failure across the city. Every gas station for miles around could not power the pumps. Almost every corner store has a propane exchange program, very handy. This alone made me buy a dual fuel.

      Good point about propane convertibility! Thanks for watching and commenting.

    I have never ran gasoline through mine and hope i never will. Propane doesn’t go bad. Ever.

      @@CycleFab propane is also easier on carburetor, usually cheaper. Get one of those pigs (large tanks installed on your property) and you're set forever

      Same. No worries of rust in the gas tank either. Mine has never seen gas. Always propane

      I agree with you on propane plus the oil stays cleaner and no carb problems period

      @@philliphall5198 propane is very good but slightly more expensive than the non-ethanol I currently run…….

    I changed from a gas generator to duel fuel because my gas system was annoying to maintain. Gasoline needs fuel saver and when not in use for a prolonged period of time it needs to be drained. Even then, more often than not it was difficult to start after sitting in my garage for an entire season. I bought this Champion and with propane it starts immediately. If you have the $$$ you can buy two tanks and swap out the empty one to get a refill when needed while the other one is still working. One small note about the video, it requires about 12oz of fresh oil per change (to the cap thread mark)

      Really the less back pressure the better fuel mileage and easier on engine
      When I’m using it, then the noise is my least concern for sure

    Round 2, 361,380 without power here in Texas….probably more to come…there was over 400,000 without power at on e time…..Got me a 10,000 watt Dual Fuel Champion generator on standby as well as 6,000 watt hours of battery backup just in case…

  • @Stepuptothat

    Is it true you should break a new duel fuel with gas first for like 20-30 hrs before using the propane just for proper seating of rings and valves !? Just trying to learn the rite way. Thanks

    • @CycleFab
      @CycleFab  Před 5 měsíci +2

      That is not true. My generator is still starting and running just fine with either gas or propane. And yes, I do use propane sometimes. It's less messy, no chance of spillage. You'll really like having a generator when the time comes you actually need one.

    And I’ve been told to use the fuel that is being circulated the most cause it cleaner not necessarily being the highest octane

    • @CycleFab
      @CycleFab  Před rokem

      I just recently found out that if you have the availability of non-ethanol gas, even though it's somewhat lower in octane, it is a far cry better than the higher octane 10% ethanol gas. Thanks for watching and commenting.

    Is this the generator that says its 74 decibels on the box? Cause this one sounds louder?

    • @CycleFab
      @CycleFab  Před 3 měsíci

      No, this is the one that says 68 decibels. Judging how something sounds in real life to the audio track of a CZcams video can be misleading. I did not measure the noise level of my generator so I don't know what db level it acctually runs at. But, it's not loud to the point we really even notice it running, hope this helps. Why use high octane fuel? The higher the octane the harder to start, high octane is to prevent knock and pre ignition

    • @CycleFab
      @CycleFab  Před rokem +2

      Several small engine technicians have told me that using high octane gas is better so that's why I run it. Thanks for watching and commenting.

    how many hours run time will I get on a single propane tank?

    • @projectswithjw
      @projectswithjw Před 6 měsíci

      A 20 lb tank will have about 3.5 gallons if you get from an exchange place. If you get a tank filled, they can push 4 to 4.5 gallons into it. I fill mine at TSC as its a better value. My 7000 watt generator will take about .75 - 1 gallon per hour so a tank might make it about 4 hours. Smaller generators probably last longer.

      That's a different generator, Dual Fuel generator Runs on Gasoline or Propane Fuel Tri Fuel Generator Runs on Gasoline, Propane Fuel or Natural Gas. It's always one or the other. They do sell a generator conversion kits to run on Natural Gas or just buy a generator that has all three.... Hope that answer your questions
