Thank you, Rich. I won’t take credit myself, but my wife is certainly a wonderful person and Chance adored her. Once we made the decision, she spoiled him rotten to make his last couple of days as good as possible. He was a special dog who has left a big hole in our hearts but we will heal and help another special dog who needs us in the future. I hope you had a nice holiday weekend. Stay safe.

Glad I was able to finish yard work yesterday. You have a great variety of birds around your home. Blue Jays up here are vicious and we have to actively guard our sparrow nests from poachers. Cicadas have been voluminous in my neighborhood but thankfully not around my home. They have been deafening at times and will be for a few more weeks. Three more weeks of travel! Good morning Scott. Narrating the 20 seconds of video about Chance was very hard. I’m tearing up now just writing this. Thank you. Our storms are supposed to get here around 1:00. They’ve already posted flood watches. I think severe storms are later. I mowed my neighbors yesterday, mine may have to wait until I get back from Indiana next weekend. Pretty wet right now, doubt if it will dry off before the storms get here. Hopefully I can shoot some videos today about JMRI and run some trains. Thanks again for your kind comments. Rally enjoy your switching ops and layout, with limited space myself and using shelf method you give some great ideas and making switching so interesting,now have to check with my property manager if she will let me expand to at least 6 ft ,keep up the great work and look forward to any tips and techniques you have done

Sorry to hear about Chance. I heard a rumor that conversation with our pets is pretty normal in heaven. I'm not in a hurry to test that out! At my wife's suggestion I moved the retail section of town to the end of the layout and it is going to curve up a hill. She dug out a couple of old DPM kits and is working on them herself. It has been awhile since we had a mutual RR project. We took a short trip to western WI for our grand daughters high school graduation. A mall class of 50. We missed all the wild storms which are suppose to be back later this week.
Reunion with our pets is a major selling point, Jack. Like you though, I’m going to try to stick around for a while longer. My wife has helped more with the garden railroad than the indoor one but she did help with the backdrop. Don’t think I could get her to build a kit though. Enjoy the teamwork! Hi Thom, Good Sunday Morning to you. We had some very powerful storms come thought yesterday (Saturday 5-25-24) with trees down everywhere. No reports of a tornado, but we had steady 60 mph wind and heavy rain, thankfully we didn't loose power and were able to keep posted via the local news station. At one point they thought they saw rotation near the airport, but at 5:30 PM the tornado warning was canceled. That ICG boxcar really gets around, it's also been seeing service on my Long Valley Branch 😊 I was just thinking Thom, the off spot car (ICG Boxcar) left outside the door, won't the company want you to uncouple that car and leave it in the clear, so they could close their over head door? Which would add another step to your ops session. Another great ops session Thom, thanks for sharing the video. So sorry to hear about Chance, my condolences to you and your wife. Our pets become family and loosing one of them is like loosing a family member. Just remember Chance will now be waiting for you on the other side of the rainbow bridge. That place wasn’t air conditioned so I imagine the door stayed open most of the time for the workers. You are correct, though. It probably wasn’t a 24/7 operation and the door was probably closed on weekends. Glad you survived the bad weather. Ours is supposed to be this evening. Sorry about your your pup. Never really had house pets, but lots of small farm animals and it was always hard to lose one. The birds actually add a bit of realism to the videos. I always notice them when train watching, especially on the day of the eclipse while watching CSX north of the Finger Lakes. They sounded very loud and terribly confused as the sky darkened too early for their liking and then brightened only a few minutes later.
