- I finished my first travel day in Arizona by leaving Downtown Tempe to get back to my hotel in Downtown Phoenix. This video picks up after my walking tour of the Tempe area, and begins at the Tempe Town Lake Pedestrian Bridge.
From there, I rode the Rio Salado Bike Path toward Downtown Phoenix as the sun was setting. At first, the ride was beautiful, but then as it got darker, the Phoenix portion of the route had no lights. My commentary reflects that I'd probably end up not including the footage, but after reviewing it later, I decided to keep it for narrative purposes, since you do get to see the city road used to get from the trail to Downtown Phoenix. Filmed on March 2, 2024.
Part 1 of the video, which was me exploring Tempe during daylight, can be found here: • Exploring Downtown Tem...

Thank You for that 'very relaxing' and 'otherworldly' nigh bike ride to Phenix, - you made no mistake - Thank you Poko ...
Even though it was dark in the second half, I didn't account for the ASMR vibe that it would have. I'm glad I ended up posting it and continue recording!
Is this around the same area as the Active Towns video titled >

Feel free, I enjoy comparing videos! At the 26 minute mark of his video, he gets to Tempe Town Lake Pedestrian Bridge, which is where my video began. Prior to that, he was on the same bike path and same side that I took, except he was coming from further East in Tempe (parts of the trail that I was not on). If he would've continued straight, as opposed to turning onto the Tempe Town Lake Pedestrian Bridge, then he would've continued onto the same path that my video was taking place on.
Instead, he crossed the bridge to get to the other side, and then took a few city roads in order to get to another trail, called the Grand Canal Trail, which passes right by the sky bridge that would take you to the Phoenix Airport. So, if one was trying to go to the Airport, then his route definitely makes sense.
@@PokoTravelerOK thanks. I just remembered watching a video a couple months back that seemed like a very similar scene. The planes were a little bit of a giveaway to the general location.
good job, but this video and the ease of getting around is a fluke, I live here in tempe and commute on an ebike. usually I cant go 100 ft before a vagrant or a zombie needs to be in my way to get attention their mommy didn't give them. Keep up the good luck, hahahah
Thanks for the insight! Especially riding a route in new territory, in the dark, my eyes were definitely trying to strain to watch out for possible vagrants under bridges and such. I'm glad I had luck on my side for no one jumping out!
@@PokoTraveler if you are interested I found some really cool local trails and multi use trails for this area
That'd be fun to hear, for if I ever get back down to the Phoenix area!
