@cellspex you should check the moomin valley series, it really good and seem to be ignored
While not as dark as the first Chicken Run, the one death scene in Chicken Run 2 where a chicken is turned into nuggets and Ginger tells her daughter to "Look at me, and do not look away" is incredibly chilling.
MY FAVORITE SCENE FRFR, including that one scene where ginger says that they have to hide; pretty in character for Ginger there and the build up to it is fine.
I felt the film was still dark, but as with the purpose of the factory
It covers the dark with a happy and carefree shield
EXACTLY! THAT scene had the same tone of the og movie. If more of it was that then it could've been as great as the original, maybe even better! Still, a pretty good movie overall
That scene literally gives me chills...definitely a similar tone to the first movie and just shows how serious ginger still is when it comes to protecting the people she loves !
It's a shame that Migration is having such a rough time at the box. It's honestly one of the better movies Illumination has put out. Nothing amazing, but definitely a fun, feel good, family road trip movie. And for what it is, Dawn of the Nugget is pretty good too. I just love that British humor and slapstick Aardman's known for.
Eh, think it’s good for Illumination to take an L. Might wake them up to the fact people are getting more aware that there’s very little to most of their films.
As much as Migration doing bad is well bad, it doesn’t really matter anyways. illumination throwing out a movie at this time expecting it to do well shows that they aren’t exactly planning to change anything. Worse case scenario, they end up throwing out another movie that’s possibly even worse then this one and it ends up doing just as bad.
I'm not losing sleep over illumination essentially crying wolf by pumping out mediocre easily marketable products one after the other and just now not getting any box office success. Now this means they actually have to make something better than anyone expects out of them. Or they can make more Nintendo movies.
@@gameb9oyyeah but it encourages them to instead of making original movies, just make more minions.
Nah, I am following the box office and it really is not doing bad. The second weekend is about to increase over the first, it is doing the same as Elemental and Puss in Boots 2, were it opens low but it just keeps holding like crazy.
For me the most interesting part of the Boy and the Heron is the reveal that Miyazaki's love of flying is apparently the product of his virulent hatred for birds.
So much for being a man who "cares about nature." Like we need more Nature Is Ugly and You Should Hate It media.
Migration was just.. nice, and I like it because of that. I'm not rushing out to see it again super soon or anything, but I'd watch it again. You could tell Illumination wanted to make a quintessential family film for the holidays and it achieved that extremely well. Like it's the type of thing you watch while comfy on your couch with something warm to eat/drink when you don't wanna think too much, and that's okay. The movie never claims to be anything more than that, and I like having films like this in-between the other more "ambitious" animated stuff coming out nowadays
You've just described why I love Cars and Cars 3 so much. Like, they're simple and sometimes, that's all you need. Just...a slice of life type movie. Something to put on when it's a rainy day, or when you just want to have a chill movie night on the couch with some popcorn and coke.
@@TheRibottoStudiosAgreed. I love the Cars *duology*.
same with Rio 2, at least your grad of Biology that don't think of story of course
@@zonx87 consisting of Cars and Cars 2 cuz the third one sucks
I also knew going into it that Chicken Run 2 would nowhere near be as good as the original but I was still surprised at 1) how funny the film was and 2) how well it was written despite the darkness not being present. The irony of Ginger escaping a prison only to imprison her child to protect her is genius, but you can still understand WHY she felt this was the best way
I mean, there was darkness and creepiness, maybe just less, cause that we heard that chicken die
It looks like an ok continuation, but kernels of fanservice (old rooster still ain't dead?) and the idea of a heist in the first place deterred me from watching. There looks to be dark moments, but mind control plots and the over-the-top slaughterhouse put me off it.
If you're wondering why Chicken Run 2 didn't get a theatrical release, thank Netflix.
After Aardman split with Sony, Netflix bought the distribution rights in America for all future Aardman films. It did get a short theatrical release in the UK though!
thank god everyone in the uk lives for aardman
@@iwakeupandboomimarat Of course, Aardman is a UK staple.
2019 was the year of the Yeti movies and 2022 was the Pinocchio movies, so I guess December 2023 decided to be birds. These themes are getting a bit more time specific.
Which begs the question of what were the themes of 2020 and 2021
@@erichfiedler1481the first word that came to mind was gay
@@Inactiveidontusethis for both years? Or just one of them? Also why?
@@erichfiedler1481both i guess also i don't really know, I wanna say owl house came out around then around that time. Also I discovered I was bi in 2021 so I guess I just associate LGBT with those two years

Here in Brazil the movie "Migration" is just called.... "Ducks" lol. Great video as always!!
Same for Spanish-speaking Latin America. And for a weird coincidence, the main duck from Migration, Mack, is voiced by Mexican actor Alfonso Herrera, who was also casted as the gray heron in The Boy and the Heron. It's kind of weird that they got a Mexican celebrity in the dub of a Studio Ghibli movie, though Herrera has worked on voice acting plenty of times before, and not just in animated movies, he also voices Baki in Baki the Grappler
That's a shame
"Chicken Hilda" perfectly summarizes every thought and impression I had about this character
The fact they have the same voice actress was a surprise to me
I knew I recognized that voice but couldn't place it.
The fact Studio Ghibli was number one at the box office and a 2D movie was doing this well gave me lots of hope that Hollywood will see this and might give 2D animation another go looking at you Disney. The boy and the heron was such a experience that I want to see it over and over again best film released all of 2023 to me and I hope they win best animated feature again with this film because it deserves it.
I love how people throw a tantrum over Nature=Good/Humans=Bad movies, but shower endless praise for Humans=Good/Nature=Bad movies.
I've only seen The Boy and the Heron. It's a beautiful movie, and makes me wish more more hand drawn movies
lucky France also has a lot of those
If we support movies like The boy and the heron which I've seen and it's one of the best movies this year and we'll see them.
The Boy and the Heron is anime, it seems Japan is the only country that still can make succesful traditionally animated movies. However, one of the most succesful anime films that came out this year (well, technically it came out on December last year) was The First Slam Dunk, that was made in CGI
@@pablocasas5906 Techinally Ireland, France and Britain make good successful movies made with hand drawn animation and stop motion. Japan isn't the only one but is the best at doing it that's how the medium lives on. The first Slam dunk maybe CG but is really good.
@@chrisbrasel8060I honestly loved boy and the heron whenever I think of the film, it reminds me of those Japanese jrpgs where you have to slay a god
I agree, Chicken Run 2 totally deserved a theatrical release, however I don't think it would have done well in the box office because we've had so many lack luster sequels to classic films lately that this movie would have had a serious uphill battle
First Aardman released their films under DreamWorks Animation, then Sony Pictures Animation, then Lionsgate, and now Netflix, I feel like if Aardman wants to release their movies Theatrical like they did before they should probably have either Universal or Focus Features as they're next distributors, come on we Americans want to see the amazing world of stop motion again on the big screen.
I was at the world premiere of Chicken Run 2. It was one of the most surreal movie-watching experiences of my life, and I will never forget it.
was it a good experience?
@@eiarioja2646 I had to pass armed security (which is extremely rare in the uk), a red carpet that went completely unused because the actors are on strike, and clay models of ginger the chicken in glass containers as if they’re priceless artefacts, and listen to the crew give a speech that involved calling Ginger the Chicken a feminist icon and another speech from the mayor of london where he made a bunch of chicken puns before watching it. It was incredible.
@@whyisthisafeature Love that they are aware that Ginger is a feminist Icon. Also, THE MAYOR WAS THERE??
@@whyisthisafeature That sounds like an amazing experience, I'm kinda jealous😅
@@eiarioja2646 The mayor wasn’t there in person, but he recorded a speech in advance
My mom who NEVER in her LIFE had seen a Miyazaki film was interested in the Boy and the Heron...I think because I had talked up such big hype over the English voice cast.
We ended up seeing it when I visited and to our surprise, it was the Sub version, not the English dubbed version. But she still enjoyed it, and was able to get what was going on. I mean she picked up who the fire girl was WAY quicker than I ever did which is embarrassing to say as a major film buff. Just goes to show that animations even those from another country really can connect to anyone. If you're open to what you see. I think it definitely is a movie you need to see twice, but even if you only see it once, it's worth seeing it on the big screen. GOD I'll never get over how pretty his backgrounds are.
As a pollotarian, i see this as an absolute win
Let's see... "pollo" means chicken in Spanish iirc, and "tarian" is from like vegetarian, sooooo...
You only eat chickens?
Just having Chicken Run 2 makes me happy!
I know that Mahito is a hard protagonist to read but after a second viewing and some reflection some of his actions make sense.
He’s cold towards his aunt because he resents the fact his father replaced his mother so quickly and easily while he is still grieving. But I’ve been debating whether or not the rock bit was intentional self harm or to get back at his father. I’m not sure.
Rio is still the peak of animated bird movies
Boy and the Heron is an unhinged masterpiece, I can't wait to watch it for a third time!
Boy And The Heron = Masterpiece
Somehow, Illumination ran circles around Disney on their 100th anniversary year. What a time to be alive.
Just to make it clearer how much a primer is important, 2 separate other friend groups with similar tastes went to see The Boy & the Heron after I had. I didn't give the first one anything other than "I loved it" and they came out confused and mislead. I told the 2nd more about the tone and dream-logic of its plotting and they enjoyed it way way more. It's a powerful choice they made, but if your conception of Ghibli is closer to Totoro and Howl and Kiki (NONE of them have seen The Wind Rises, my favourite Miyazaki) or if you're just game for anything (like I was, even during Ghiblifest I would make sure to come late so I'd miss the trailers for The Boy & the Heron), then this is going to be a massive readjustment.
The biggest problem with Wish is really just that that, We don't care about Asha. There's not enough weight put on how wishes are important to people, and when Asha's wish is never even shown, we can only assume her dream is to fulfill others wishes. Which is really vague and hard to care about when we don't even see a lot of the supporting cast's wishes.
I'm am genuinely sure that a lot of the films other aspects wouldn't be nearly as overplayed as "bad", if we actually cared about the story and it's characters. And that's a writing problem more than anything else.
I can confirm that watching The Boy and the Heron a second time helps you understand it SO much more with how whimsical and dreamlike it is! I was able to fully appreciate it and just enjoy myself with the prior knowledge of what’s happening in mind. It was definitely one of my favorite movies of 2023!
Migration is easily Illumination best movie, even more then the Mario movie. Sure, Mario was grander and is a lot of fun, but it does have issues. Yet i left Migration not only being satisfied but also happy. Reminds me of Mitchell's vs Machines in several ways
Honestly, chicken run 2 was an improvement since the designs of the chicks got redesigned, the island got bigger, & Fowler went from being cranky to comedic
That is true. Keeping your kids ignorant doesn’t protect them because as you said once, kids hate being lied to.
Three bird movies in one month? Reminds me of the three Pinocchio movies that came out last year
The fact that I HEARD Dr. Heinz Doofenshmirtz's two nickels spiel says a lot about me...
I went into the Boy and the Heron blind and left in happy tears. Can't wait for extended thoughts!
The boy and the heron does feel like a new Peter Pan, Wizard of Oz or Alice in wonderland. Which is interesting because Miyazaki already made something like this in Spirited away. Despite that I still appreciate it as the "Isekai that returns to the real world" story that it is. Especially because the Protagonist is a boy for once.
While Miyazaki seems to be know for having strong female protagonists in his films, like the titular Nausicaä, Kiki and Chihiro, he has made lots of stories with male main protagonists. Lupin III and Sherlock Hound aside, he directed Future Boy, Conan which practically set the bases for his stories about a boy and a girl, I mean Conan and Lana are very similar to Pazu and Sheeta from Castle in the Sky, and other characters in his stories are similar to them. There's also Porco Rosso. You could say Ashitaka is the main character in Princess Mononoke (heck, the movie was called "The Legend of Ashitaka" in pre-production). And The Wind Rises focuses on Jirō
As someone who was raised on Aardman (Being British and all) The original Chicken Run is a childhood classic for me, I still remember the original VHS I had from way back when. So when this sequel was coming out, I didn't know what to expect, I mean, sure, I'd like some more Chicken Run, but I wasn't clamouring for it.
I enjoyed it, not as witty or memorable to me as the first but it's a cute one and done experience for me, maybe I'll Revisit in a few years but as is, it's fine.
Although maybe seeing it the same day as Godzilla Minus One wasn't the smartest idea because it gave me the biggest tonal whiplash ever (PS, that movie is amazing and I highly recommend)
Migration had the power to be something pretty cool. It could have been a journey of someone who worries too much and someone who doesn't worry enough learning the value of each others viewpoints, and in doing so refining their own into something whollly superior to what they started with. Travel in the same direction from the start, but some how only truly meeting at the end when they have the experience needed to be truly safe.
I've only seen "The Boy and the Heron" so far, which was a great film. I especially loved the heron character for his mischievous personality and ability to switch between his bird and humanoid forms. I'll still try to watch "Migration" and "Dawn of the Nugget" as soon as I can.
Suzume and The Boy and the Heron should be nominated for Best Animated Feature over Wish.
Not Suzume, it's bad 😬
Can I just say that your channel has recently become one of my favourite review channels! You discuss animated films very objectively while acknowledging your own personal tastes. You breakdown tropes and trends in a concise way and pitch very good ideas to avoid common animated tropes. It's also a delight hearing that you love the first Chicken Run as much as I do! 😊Great work!
In chicken run 2 I didn’t think they where gonna have the guts to kill anybody off because it’s been 20 years of but that death was surprisingly creepy
Ms. Tweedy: the only psychopath in the universe that makes you happily walk to your death.
Ginger doing the "look at me" protocal to her daughter to drown out the slaughter felt too real.
Dawn Of The Nugget Was Surprisingly Good
Well since I’ve only seen 1 of the 3 movies you’re covering, that one being Migration: I really enjoyed it! It’s nice to see Illumination coming back to something Original after 7 years, it managed to work out for me. Sure, it’s not as great as the Super Mario Bros. Movie, earlier this year, but on its own, It’s still something you can watch and say “that’s good”. I love the New York section the most, the characters are fun. The voice acting is really good. And I really like the villain. The chef is t really anything special. He don’t talk (except the exclamations he makes) but that actually isn’t really an issue because he still serves as a good threat for our duck characters. And his intro is so cool. Him walking down the kitchen with all his workers intimidated to where he swats away a dish because he doesn’t like it, that’s how you do a villain intro! But yeah. It is sad to see this movie not have a great start, but I’m hoping that it does better over time.
lets hope they keep up this streak
I only just started watching the video but wanted to say I have neither seen nor heard a single drop of marketing for Chicken Run 2. I saw the title and I was so genuinely, I dunno, shocked? That I clicked immediately. What?!
I'm not kidding. I go out of my way to block ads on social media but usually there's still usually always some peeps that filter through. I saw literally nothing on anything.
I did really like the dystopian vibe of the new farm and how Miss Tweetie went full Operation paperclip, if the Nazi parallels went obvious enough X)
Chicken run is a solid movie, for all the reasons you listed. Time for a rewatch!
It’s funny when you think about it.
How this trailer for the new chicken run spoiled that the original villain returned.
And the original trailer did the same thing which showing the last scene of the movie that they escaped .
I didn't know Chicken Run 2 existed until this movie!
I re-watched Chicken Run with my parents before watching Dawn of the Nugget. Something that struck me was how the sequel degraded characters for the sake of humor. Rocky wasn’t an idiot in the first film, but now he is for the sake of jokes.
I’m really tired of this lazy writing practice of writing jokes first and then arranging characters to fit the joke or situation. Stories with well-defined characters with character-driven plot points and jokes are just so much more engaging and satisfying. It’s like film makers don’t know how to write anymore.
chicken run 2's _entire_ source of comedy consisted of stupid characters saying and doing stupid things. I don't remember if the first chicken run also did this, but it's so repetitive and lazy.
@@jclkaytwoFr, it felt weirdly out of character for them and I didn't like it
@@eiarioja2646 I don't care too much whether they're out of character or not considering I'm not a huge fan of the first movie either. but I do care that the amount of variety that this movie's comedy has is virtually zero. the movie is just so painfully unfunny because the whole movie relies on one single type of comedy and nothing else.
Boy and the Herron perfectly emulates the fever dream you have after bashing your skull in with a rock so hard you bleed at least a liter of blood. I love it.
Also There is an Akira reference, and a Magic Flute (yes, the Mozart one) reference.
went to see boy and the heron dub with my sister on boxing day. we both came out of the cinema pleased with what we had seen. to me the fantasy and chaos was reminiscent of what one might find in wonderland.
I love the moon short that came before migration.
Okay we all know ow the boy and the Herron won’t be the last Miyazaki film. Mark my words that man in 8 years tops will comeback with another reason to work on another masterpiece of 2d animation with passion, love and care.
Happy new year, CellSpex!!!
I'm early! The Boy and the Heron made me extremely confused, but i loved it so much, i can't wait to watch it again
Migration: Haven’t seen it yet but want to support an original story.
Chicken Run 2: Not as good as the first one, but I had a feeling that would be the case going in. Still a fun movie and watching behind the scenes stuff shows that the filmmakers wanted to expand upon the old characters.
Boy and the Heron: I enjoyed this more than The Wind Rises for its fantastical stuff even if the dream-like storytelling is an acquired taste.
I wasn't expecting a "Halloween Town" reference lol
I definitely like The Boy and the Heron and at least grasped some its themes like grief of parent and acceptance of the step-mom. I still don't quite understand what the surreal world and its destruction was meant to represent. Maybe throwing away the past and accepting you can't control the future to move forward in the real world.
I saw both chicken run movies and I adored both to bits. (Even though Im sad I saw the second one first and not the actual first one)
The part in the second where they’re in the factory and a chicken is torn apart in the machine and Ginger grabs Molly’s face and tells her to look at her and not look away gives me the shivers. It also made me laugh really hard in a lot of places, and Mrs. Tweedy might actually be one of my favorite fictional villains ever.
The first one was much darker (literally) and I loved it too, it also made me laugh a lot (especially Mrs. Tweedy and Mr. Tweedy) and it gave me stuff to think about.
“Mrs. Tweedy! The chickens are revolting!”
“Finally, something we agree on.”
Your videos always make my day better
Your voice and the style of your videos make it feel like I'm hanging out with a cool friend I don't see often but every time we hang out it's a blast
Oh hey you're here neat
Migration shows that Illumination _finally_ cares about telling a story, and _now_ they're floundering at the box office. Never thought I would say this, but I feel bad for Illumination.
It's actually not that much of a dip, it is original and that does attract less attention, but Puss in Boots 2 released last year around this time and didn't do too well at first. Also Sing 2 started slow around the same time. And given january tends to be pretty empty, that's where December films make a lot of money.
This is an oddly specific category of film, but I'm here for it.
I am going to see Migration and also, The Boy and the Heron was so good on IMAX!
4:00 No hot take for me. I mean, Chicken Run's been read as a communist allegory, that's a level of thematic sophistication greater than Wallace and Gromit for me (still excited for the upcoming W+G movie!). In any case, Ima see TBATH with a friend, who's quite the Miyazaki fan. I probably won't get all the references, but it'll be fun to see another hand-drawn animated feature in theaters again (my first was Princess Mononoke this summer).
Edit: I am now confused and amazed. In retrospect, I probably shouldn't have seen Miyazaki's most self-reflective and narratively ambiguous film as my second Ghibli film.
How did you like Princess Mononoke? I still have to see it
Great first movie to start on.
@@mjjjermaine Beautiful, epic, and above all, one of the best fantasy movies I've seen.
Triton is my favorite character!
Don’t know why I can’t find any other comments about it but the new thumbnail art is so cute!! Love it.
the Boy and Heron gave me major Alice In Wonderland vibes & I like how Hamill used his voice that he used for the Skeleton King for the Granduncle.
Boy and the Heron actually played at a local theater for me. For two days. Neither of which I had off from work nor time to see. 🙃
“We're each single threads woven together in a tapestry God has created. Only he sees the full picture, but not even a sparrow falls without his knowing.”
CZcams serving me up 2 different un-skippable “Migration” advertisements on this video was kind of hilarious.
I always love ur videos.
I actually went to the cinema to watch Migration with my friends. It was deserted, only our group and a mother with her child. It was nice to watch, of course nothing mindbreaking, but nice! It was a fun day.

Arthur Christmas is genuinely the best Christmas Movie I’ve ever watched, and it should really be recognized more for how amazing it is.
I see you're up to... one Christmas movie seen. Well done.
(Of course I'm just playin, glad you like it)
Love the videos, man. Keep it up!!!
Migration is the best Illumination movie since the first Despicable Me. Very entertaining... if you can acceot the basic story.
One of the ducks design in migration reminds me of MCU Howard The Duck.
Fun Fact: Rocky and Ginger was my very first ship. So happy my first ship got married and had a baby together ❤❤
Awkwafina won me over when she was in Dark Crystal, so yes, crabby avians is 100% her wheelhouse.
I didn't even know the Boy and the Heron was a thing! I feel like a truly terrible fan of Miyazaki, now! That's now going on my list of must watches.
Loved Migration, Boy and the Heron (need to see it again), and Chicken Run 2.
I saw Dawn of Nugget with my family in Wisconsin for christmas season
We have our own new baby girl in the family
The timing just enhanced it for me
Out of Migration and Boi and the Heron, the heron in Migration creeped me out more.
I loved Boy and the Heron. Very pretty movie
Chicken Run 2: where Aardman is able to give a chicken farm Pleasure Island coding.
Happy New Year!
Migration not having a useless B plot line makes it one of Illumination's better movies imo
Somehow i misread the title as "December Bird movies: Migration, Chicken Run 2, and taking Heroin" as my eyes were too focus on the thumbnail.
The first Mario game came out in the same console as Duck Hunt and now Illumination has a the Mario movie and a movie about ducks trying to survive in the same year. Not to mention past Illumination movies have hinted at Mario
Huh, was gonna write this one off, but now I think I'm gonna try and see it in the theater
I finally watched boy and heron, and jumped to this video to watch your thoughts. Because my thoughts were: it's visually stunning butwhat the heck did i just watch?
Migration was a huge suprise
It's one of the first illumination films that felt like it was actuallyna film
And not a corproate tied hand job like the Seuss movies
And a giant toy commerical like minnions
It's good animation, with interesting characters, the pacing is really good
The plot is tight and it doesn't need to have long pandering pop culture scenes or noise going on to pad the run time
Every plot point and scene is connected and has a purpose that pushes the film further.
I mean, to me, that is the best thijg about Migration
It feels like a real film, it has characters you care about
And it doesn't fall into the usual illumination or dec-jan movie feel.
I think the best animated thing I've seen this year is actually the series 'Scavenger's Reign', I REALLY hope you're able to watch it and let others know what a masterpiece it is.
I ended my year of films with The Boy and the Heron and I was shocked at Robert Patterson as The Heron where he sounds like a mix of Daffy Duck and Danny DeVito
Kinda bummed how the Chicken Run sequel didn’t hit the mark as much as the past films, especially since they are running out of their signature clay, so this will be one of the last stop motion films they’ll have for a while. Though I’d also say this a bit of karma regarding what happened with Ginger’s OG voice…..seriously! That reasoning to replace her made no sense.
Why did Aardman even let Sam Fell replace half of the ogs? DID THEY NOT LEARN THEIR LESSON FROM DREAMWORKS??? (When they wanted to replace Peter Sallis for Wallace)
Yeah I agree with you CellSpex on Chicken Run 2: Dawn of the Nugget. It was stupid of Ginger to not tell Molly that she shouldn't go to the Mainland where the Humans are. In only telling Molly why she should stay on the island but NOT why she SHOULDN'T Go out onto the mainland where the humans are. Ginger risked Molly's curiosity getting the better of her and she wanted to see what the rest of the world is like. She could have told Molly that there are humans out in the world. Bad humans like Mrs. Tweedy who would kill Molly and make her into a pie or nugget or any other Chicken food products and sell them on the market and that would mean Molly's DEATH and that she doesn't want that to happen to her daughter or to lose her. Granted it might not deter Molly forever, but it COULD have, and even if it didn't if Molly went to the Mainland, she might have tried to avoid humans instead of trying to go on their trucks to happy death camp land.
Also I too saw the Migration movie, and I loved it. I can understand Mack's fear of danger to him and his family, but you can't avoid them forever. Eventually you have to face your fears sooner and later. Mack eventually learned that if he and his family stays scared of everything in the world, then he and his family will never be able to move forward. And that would be a pretty sad climax if it ended that way instead of how it actually did in the movie. I just wish that Migration did better at the Box Office.
You missed the opportunity to title as "DecemBIRD" movies 😭😭😭😭
4:00 it's my favourite, too. My entire family's.
Boy and Heron: It was beautiful, but the metaphors were too deep or alien for me to suss out and the story and characters seemed like they could only be captivating if you were in on those metaphors. Like you said, not real easy to grow attached to the protagonist compared to Miyazaki's previous works.
You made yourself look just like the Martian Queen from the "Duck Dodgers" TV show in the thumbnail. 😆
Your new avatar is so cute!
Dawn of the Nugget was decent but it would've hit harder with Julia Sawalha returning as Ginger. Thandiwe Newton did an OK job with Ginger's mannerisms but made her sound a bit too old which is ironic given the studio's reason for Julia not returning.
I'm surprised about the recasts in the English version, I know that some of the voice actors from the first movie passed away, that's understandable. I knew they wouldn't call Mel Gibson, but it's weird they didn't bring Ginger's voice back despite her saying she open to it
Fortunately, the Neutral Spanish version managed to keep almost all of cast intact, which is incredible considering that for example, Fowler's VA is over 90 years old. The only changes were Ms. Tweedy, since her dub actress, Liza Willert, passed away many years ago, and Fletcher the rat, because his VA had a disagreement with the ANDA (the Mexican actor's guild), despite the fact that he voiced the character in the trailer
@@pablocasas5906 I'm happy for the Spanish fans. We were told Ginger was recast due Julia Sawalha sounding too old to play her. Julia then retaliated by uploading a video of her reading her lines from the first movie showing she sounded the same. There are rumors that it might have been due to diversity, but that's all they are, rumors.
Bird is the word !!!
Gotta say i really love the thumbnail :)
