I can see the legacy as my display case and the lightning collection as my cosplay.
That's exactly what I do
While I can see the benefits of Lightning Collection, I prefer the Legacy. As an adult collector it's gonna spend most of the time displayed and I'd prefer the one that looks the nicest.
The legacy collection is my favorite I'll sacrifice play features for it to look that good any day of the week. You should review the 2017 movie morpher and power coins!
Legacy for the presentation and diecast as for LC. The sound features and the light up like a light sabor for me legacy wins and is a display piece in any power ranger and LC is for playing with

Another point for the lightning dagger is it comes with a stand I don’t think the legacy one does? I personally have the lightning dagger its more show accurate, and the features alone make it worth it over the legacy version
Very true, I really do like the lightning dagger alot. But you have to admit the legacy dagger is very pretty.

Just like everything else, I have a personal bias towards the Lightning Collection version.
What bugs me is that neither one do the dragonzord summon sound exactly like the show. They both sound off. Why is it so hard to capture a sound from a show and put it into a prop? I have both but I'm probably going to use the lightning collection version for cosplay since it's lighter. Legacy still looks 20x better though. I hate how lightning version doesn't turn off just like the hasbro morpher. Way to waste battery life
I'm with you, another thing about it that bugs me is that neither of them play the go green ranger theme... What an oversight. I will probably use The lightning collection for cosplay myself simply because Of how the blade lights up.
I think the sounds for both summoning and commanding the Dragonzord for both Daggers came from the Sentai counterpart Zyuranger. That could be why it sounds different.
@Reddragon05100 nah. I watch Zyuranger. Sound is still off. And why would Hasbro and Bandai make a "Power Ranger" item with a sound only familiar to Zyuranger when not everyone watched it? Good theory but I highly doubt that's why

I never noticed that but you're right. My sister played Clarinet in middle school and high school band/marching band.
I don't have any of the power rangers merchandise but I have collected all the power rangers series on dvd, I would like to build my own dragon dagger with the flute handle one day and also build saba the tiger saber.
How much did the box sets run you? I'm trying to get my hands on the season 8-12 box set but the prices are out of control in the resale market.

I wouldn't think so, considering the Lightning Collection Dragon Dagger can't be more than two years old.

Where can I buy the daggers and the Green/White helmet? Can you point me to the right direction?
So, you will probably have to got to an online retailer like ebay or FB Marketplace for all of the above. both daggers are currently out of production as is the white ranger helmet from hasbro. Hasbro has not made a green ranger helmet yet but Bandia did, the legacy Green ranger helmet. My Green helmet is an Aniki, best aftermarket cosplay maker in the business but he is very expensive. I got a good deal on mine, only reason I have it. FYI, if you are a Fan of Lord Drakkon, his helmet is available for order on GameStop.com...

Should be able to find batteries anywhere, I go to my local pharmacy. Cvs, walgreens, great place to find batteries.

Both are out of print, so you'll pay after-market on both. I dont know the exact difference, but you will pay more for the Bandai Legacy Dagger.

Expect to pay $75-100ish USD for lightning and $200+ USD for legacy, conservative estimate.
I can’t turn down the Legacy version of everything over Lightning. I appreciate Hasbro making something distinctive with a focus on play features but it just looks so inferior
I cna't agree, as somebody who plays guitar, goddamn the fact that it has midi sounds in it for proper notes is really really really cool. WIll try and grab one with my tac returns
That alone for me makes it a lot more enticing than the looks
I can't argue with you, The legacy pieces do look amazing. But there is just so much more fun to be had with the lightning.
Absolutely, I've seen so many people playing so many different songs with the lightning dagger. Is the imperial march is my personal favorite, lol.

So, I wasn't even aware of the tamashii lab dagger until reading your comment. having now researched it, I think really it just depends on which show you are a bigger fan of, Power Rangers or Kyouryuu Sentai ZYURANGER. I probably played about 200 for the legacy dagger about 4 years ago, probably about 75 for the lightning collection dagger around the same time.
Got my legacy dragon dagger on eBay, brand new sealed in the box.. going to be displaying it soon.. loved the show as a kid.. had to get this piece as a memory, brings me back to being a kid in the 90’s all over again..
It really is a great looking piece, Definitely a must have piece.
