oh dang, Jay without glasses & cap, looking sharp mate, I dig this style (no homo lol). Awesome review as always, the Pilgrim looks very aesthetically pleasing with that shiny metal shells, decent all-rounder with great technicality at $400 but the timing is a bit unlucky since it is about to be sandwiched btw the supermix 4 and em10 (looking forward to this one specifically), but ofc, given the hype currently going on out there, I bet Elysian would still make a fortune on the Pilgrim since they have quite a fanbase for their own. Too bad it's not a mini-Annihilator or even a mini-Gaea like I would expect, given the hype for it lol.
@@jayyaudio indeed, the budget to mid-fi market is now saturated with safe and good-enough-tuning kind of iems already. Though it's fine if they wanna go for what they think the mass would like, but if one can bring some kinda novelty or special sauce into the game and also turns out to be great, then it will remain a fixture for years to come, especially if we're at the $400 and up, the competition is getting quite insane nowadays.

I am looking for endgame, for fast engaging genres, which sometimes have a sprinkle of sweet female vocals. My default pick was ie900(which I have heard), but with Dita Project M and EM10 coming a bit indecisive.
I have ie600 and xenns top currently, and a very good dap and ifi go pods.

Loving the cca hydro with short wide bore silicone tips. Waiting on doscinco and can't wait to try the supermix4
Doscinco, more like disappointment. Bass is great, vocals have a very natural timbre but when vocals, guitars, drums, etc are all going together they just drown each other out. I probably got the retune bc I was able to eq it based off the measurements in this video and it sounded better, but there is still little to no soundstage or separation. Songs like Evans blue- dear lucid our time is right now display this very apparently but I was noticing it on nearly every song in my new iem playlist where the cca hydro handles each one with expert separation and a large soundstage. Supermix 4 has been ordered
I want to buy several good sets to try out different types of tuning. On my list, I currently have the Tea 2, Doscinco, Cincotres, CKLVX, Nightingale and the super mix. Would you recommend any swaps / changes.

EM10 and supermix4 are both smoother and overall better than the LM, I'd say if you want more treble then the LM is still good

I decided to sell my headphones and mostly use IEM. I already splashed out on the Pilgrims and not sure I can change the order.
Headphones, I’ve still got Edifier Stax Spirit s3 which sound decent though usability is poor.
Waiting for the full review on SM4 and EM10. Eager to know how will you rate them out of 100. The ea500 LM was rated 65 if I remember correctly.

How would you say the resolution compares between the Pilgrim vs EM10? Would you say either of these be a decent upgrade over the Blessing 3, or keep saving up for a different set?
save for different set, they're a little better but not worth an upgrade imo
The Elysian looks like a nice package but that Simgot looks really nice, with a lot going on inside those shells.
Basing on this review, the Noir version will be wonderful.

Yeah those ring sections with the shaved off metal scratch super easy, probably even comes with some ootb, my ARTTI R1has a similar ring on the shell and it has tiny scratches even though I baby it. Thankfully this part of the shell covers a lot less than on the Pilgrim, which I can see getting noticeable scratches all over the rings pretty quickly. I kind of wish the whole shell was sandblasted instead.
Hopefully, the Supermix 4 sounds just as good with silicon eartips, since I dislike wearing foam tips.

Happy with my MP145 for $125...and even happier with the ARTTI T10 for $60. Having a difficult time justifying IEM's above $250 price point, given the performance delivered in the $150 and below category. No interest subsidizing small volume production and marketing hype. Now, throw in some precious metal accents (18kt white gold or platinum) to the face plate...maybe. But then the IEM becomes a piece of jewelry.
Damn, how do I know if my Doscinco's are the retuned version? I don't have a measurement rig. Bass sounds really good quality and clean on mine, but I've had a sneaking suspicion that they are not as bassy as a lot of people described...
ya that might be the re-tuned version, still good, just different sounding
hit up the hifiguides doscinco thread and look at posts with pictures, if your drivers are jumbled around inside like some of the posts it's probably not going to be tuned quite right. looks like ziigaat had a "bring your kid to work day" and were just tossing drivers in shells for a little bit there. gizaudio's #030 and late #200s matched, but drivers just tossed in haphazardly in the early to mid 200s
@@jayyaudio Tnanks man, seems like there is some debate about whether there was an actual retune, as Timmy / Gizaudio measured early vs later sets on the same rig and they graphed essentially the same, but there was clearly some modification of the driver placement according to people who have both. Linsoul claims the only thing changed was the tips, so who knows... My set does sound nice and bassy still, but I am certified basshead (maybe to the extreme), so I just wouldn't want to be missing out.
If you had to choose between the Simgot EM10 or the Softears Studio 4 as your one and only pair of IEM, paired with a 5th gen ipod classic, which would you?

Bro, I have the EA500LM, loved it and bought the EA1000 2 months later. The EA1000 is better in areas of clarity, separation and detail. I'm looking for even better clarity, separation and detail with perhaps a brighter and airier treble. Which one do you recommend, the Elysian Pilgrim or Simgot EM10? Thanks.

@@Viewer13128 Prestige Ltd by itself is too good it's hard to recommend anything above it totally. If you're talking strictly technicality, details resolution, then Anole VX or Letshuer C12 comes to mind, but the gap is not big, very tiny, like 10% if I have to quantify it.

MK3 for all-rounder, HBB JUPITER if you want warmer/bassier and high volume
I got the Pilgrim. They shine, absolutely shine for classical music.
However, for most genres I prefer the much cheaper Simgot EA500LM for listening pleasure rather than the detail of the pilgrim which borders on sharply analytical.
And for those in colder climates, the Pilgrims metal gets cold to the touch, unlike the Simgot EA500LM.
I’ve got a cord mojo 2 which usually breathes depth into most IEMs (for example the Hexa which I initially found a bit too insipid before the chord mojo 2). However, I can’t find a good setting with the Pilgrim’s with the Mojo 2, so far.
I kind of wish I’d listened to Jays thoughts before noticing the Pilgrim’s.
I own both EA500LM and EA1000. The EA500LM lacks the clarity, detail, separation and dynamics of the EA1000, sounding slightly dull and flat in comparison. I received information that the Pilgrim will sound even more detailed with better separation than the EA1000, characteristics that I'm looking for. The pilgrim will be my next IEM before I call it a day.
I am glad the EA500LM is working out for you but I prefer the added clarity, resolution and dynamics of the EA1000 to the EA500LM.
@@ryder9739 I prefer the ea500lm over rhe ea1000 , it has something extra at a lower price. Though I haven’t heard the em10.
A lot is obviously down to the listener and use. I enjoy using the Pilgrim for classical. For other music the ea500lm is an easy and engaging listen. Though I now use the DaVinci as a contrast to the Pilgrim. I also have the Sennheiser ie600 which adds a bit more spice than the Pilgrim for the music I enjoy listening to.
Oh man... Does simgot em10 really that good? When check the price, it only $440. Simgot really all in this year. I didn't expect simgot can disrupt market this much.

The only concern about the Supermix 4 is that its graph shows the frequency low in the upper treble air region. I'm getting older and my hearing has declined a little. I usually favor a little treble air to compensate for my hearing.
Does the Supermix 4 have decent treble air extension in your opinion?
it's enough, but if you want more treble then something like the EM10 would be better
