I have always loved you..my favorite from spandau..but now ... sorry Gary..you are an excellent songwriter, a great guitarist ... but the voice ... with Tony and spandau would really be one more thing
Tempo and harmonies remind me of the excellent “Baby Come Back” (Player, 1977). Guitar work really nice. But the lead vocal is no more than OK and doesn’t compare well with latest talent out there The music is crying out for contributions by the other members of Spandau, especially Tony. Overall, it mainly proves that Spandau’s genius was due to a successful artistic collaboration. Gary you are still a great musician, but the experience of watching and listening to this material is incomplete without the others on board. Big fan of Spandau so just being brutally honest
Tony is history. Gary wrote all the songs so he has more right to sing them than anyone. I for one love his voice on this. Tony would have made it too ballady in my view. Spandau although I loved them is no more so just embrace the new. Just being honest.
honestly it’s kind of douchy to think that gary needs to depend on other 4 guys (especially a certain lead singer who has proved to be not a liable person) to do HIS own thing. he’s the songwriter, he is the brain behind spandau and wrote ALL these songs. he has the right to do this more than anybody in the world.
