      Regarding your conclusion.. BB may be more upfront but it sounds the quality of product is superior. I'm all for that! Thanks again

    Human editors are an absolute necessity! It doesn’t matter how many times you run your manuscript through one of the excellent “editing“ programs, until you have a separate pair of human eyes on those pages, it will never be just right. I found that out when I went through an editor and although I thought I was near perfect, she found some things that would have been embarrassing if I had just gone ahead and published. Bullet successfully dodged thanks to my editor!

      Agreed! I don't ever recommend going without human eyeballs on a manuscript beyond your own. Thanks for chiming in!

    Aloha Dale, thanks so much for your videos. Always helpful. As a newbie to Indie Publishing, I'm a bit confused as to the regulations of KDP. If I publish a book with them, am I allowed to publish same book with Book Baby or other?

    • @selfpubwithdale
      @selfpubwithdale  Před 2 lety

      Yes. Many people confuse the exclusivity of the KDP Select program as all inclusive. If you enroll your ebook in KDP Select, it only affects that ebook. Not the print book or audiobook.
      And the exclusive agreement is only for 90 days at a time. If you do not enroll in KDP Select, you can go everywhere. No exception.

    New here love the detailed video since this video was made some months ago how do you feel about Bookbaby. I'm an inspired graphic novelist that want to have her book out but not anytime soon. Is it good for graphic art/ comics and for newbies like me.

    • @selfpubwithdale
      @selfpubwithdale  Před rokem

      Sadly, I don't have any personal insights with BookBaby. They come at a higher premium, but they also provide almost every service you can think of. Be careful about what you invest upfront. Only get services you truly need.

    • @selfpubwithdale
      @selfpubwithdale  Před 2 lety +1

      Yes, you'll put that code into the very last step in the publishing process. You'll see when they show the amount it costs to upload. Don't pay that. Simply use your code there. If you have any other issues, hit me up on my Discord server at DaleLinks.com/Discord.

    @Self-Publishing With Dale, How is BookBaby in Distribution of books to Libraries? I want my Genealogy book to go into LOC and Research Libraries.

      @@selfpubwithdale When assigning book titles to your Bowker ISBNs, do you include a price or select "Write for info"?
      Different PODs have different price structures. I don't use/want to buy another ISBN, Barcode because of price changes.

    Is there an advantage to uploading to KDP, Lulu, Kobo, BookBaby, Smashwords etc., simultaneously and avoiding Ingram altogether?
    You've said Ingram doesn't provide a detailed breakdown of where your Sales are coming from. That to me seems like PPCS for a 40% Revenue Share, 55% Bulk Discount and the nightmares of Bulk Returns.
    How can you Target ads without the Data?

    • @selfpubwithdale
      @selfpubwithdale  Před rokem

      IngramSpark is rolling out a new sales dashboard. It’s not perfect but it’s going in the right direction.
      But, yeah, you could do that. Advantage? Not sure till you try.
