Well, they fired him but not because of the comment in the video. It's because in the end once he learned how right the community was on the situation started to support the community over Sony. This meme didn't age too well in such a short amount of time. Honestly, I can respect him looking at start to finish how this all played out.
Arrowhead isn’t blame free, they knew this was going to come to a head at some point and did nothing to soften that blow. And the community manager’s responses were not great. While I still blame Sony more for this, Arrowhead isn’t blame free.

And it sucks for the devs, who have done a great job up to this point building a fun game, with a great community that was active and well supported. And this decision has the possibility of killing the game entirely. Like I love the game so much that I'm honestly considering biting the bullet and just making a PSN acct, but at this point this is a principled stance more than anything.

The steam store even prohibits you from buying the game if you are from that country because literally that shit is illegal, plus psn is hacked every year and you are linking your accounts for "security" reasons,
