I have a 6 month old, mini Aussie doodle, and when you said they are Velcro dogs, I can really relate!
I have a 4-year old, 65-lb Aussiedoodle named Archie, and all of these are on point, especially the one about pet insurance. We've had pet insurance for Archie since we first brought him home at about 3 months, and the puppy period would have been more stressful if we hadn't had it. Archie does have a sensitive stomach (he did have worms as a puppy), but I didn't realize that this is something that Aussiedoodles are prone to. I also didn't know about he fragile bones thing, so thanks for the info!
We got our Aussiedoodle 2 weeks ago. Oliver (Ollie) is either a ball of energy or a suddenly sleepy puppy. I nap when he naps. I intentionally chose a higher energy dog because as I approach 70, I know I need to spend less time sitting and more time moving and Ollie is proving his worth in that aspect. He is doing so well with potty training and already responds to a few words. His breeder really works hard with the pups before they go to their forever homes and she is careful to match each puppy to the suitable new owner. The original one we had our eye on was not the one we ended up with. Ollie is currently into herding and nipping but we're working on it. Other than that, he's been a joy!
I have a 80# “mini” Aussie and he is the best thing we ever did was to get him. Yes we are constantly “herd” us but as he has aged the nipping has stopped. They ARE so smart and a friend’s poodle is so intelligent too.
My wife are so excited we are adopting our aussidoodle later this week.

@JaxontheAussiedoodle Ty. He is such a good dog. Even though he is 4, he was a rescue from a breeder who was kept in a kennel most of the time. Just starting to experience life. My wife and I absolutely love him so far.
we have 2 three month old aussiedoodles and they are sisters so they have been play fighting and barking and they are very energetic
We just got our baby 3 weeks ago she will be 4 months old on the 29th and already 25 lbs and 16 inches tall .we love her so much, definitely a velcro pup and herding and nipping

Great information. In the process of deciding between a mini- aussidoodle, mini-golden or a York-poo. I think the Aussie-doodle would be a better choice, as I was told, they are a little bit faster to train, but not faster than the Yorki-poo. The York-poo may be little too small for me. I would be more nervous about their safety. Appreciate the feedback about herding dogs. I had a lab mix previously.

I, too, have a 3.5 yr old mini Aussiedoodle that’s about 35 lbs. Everything you guys mentioned here is exactly what I have personally experienced myself. I was a first time dog owner and didn’t know much about the breed before committing. It’s interesting how certain breeds come with identical traits from one dog to the next! My dog also had his tail docked and I didn’t even realized this until recently. In the beginning, everyone kept asking me if it was docked and I said no lol.
I never got pet insurance. Luckily, I haven’t had to come in for anything serious yet aside from the annual shots and occasional wellness check when he’s not feeling well. It’s an expensive breed between the grooming, annual exams and monthly heartworm and flea/tick treatments, food, treats, toys, etc., it really adds up, so I opted out of this additional expense.
We have had Bichons for many years and love their spunk and intelligence. We are taking some time off now until we are ready to have another dog. I am looking at an aussie doodle. Our cousin and my son both have australian shepherds, but we would like a little bit smaller of a dog.

Love our Aussie doodle, Very friendly dogs, great temperament, great with all levels of family members, just note they do like to jump when the see you initially, something we’re still working with Sky on. regular grooming is a must, her curly coat picks up everything outside, and check there ears on a regular basis, pulling and removing hair from the are will reduce any potential infections. Very active dread, we actually got another dogmas a playmate, different breed, but they both get along so well. Having a yard makes a big difference as well, very active breed, so if you live in an apartment or townhome, be ready to take them to the dog park, they need the release of energy.
We just bought aussiedoodle mini and the Velcro and separation anxiety is on point she’s 11 months old and we can’t walk out of her sight without her whining. The biggest issue I see right now is when we drive her anywhere she drools horribly her coat gets so wet. Is there anything we can do about this? Also, what’s a good pet insurance to have?
My Aussie doodle is a standard ( standard mother Aussie and standard poodle dad) he is 60 pounds and He is 15 months old.
I had a beautiful merle blue Aussie Doodle named Tipper. Unfortunately I had to give her to a rescue group because she was too much for me (I'm in my late 70's). Twice she knocked me down causing major back injuries. She just hit me running full bore and I couldn't avoid her. ❤ I lay in the gravel driveway bleeding and cursing her. After that I learned not to let her go outside when I was outside alone.
I get texts from the rescue group frequently and they tell me how intelligent she is and how quickly she learns plus how happy she is.
She takes after the momma dog who is an Aussie so she needs grooming frequently and she sheds a ton.
Even if I would have seen this video before I bought her, I would have brought her. Unfortunately right after we got her, my husband was hospitalized and has been for about 18 months. Next, she bonded to my grandson who later passed away from a drug overdose while in Arizona. I'm thinking that this was not meant to be.
Hi, first I offer my sincere condolences for your loss. My husband & I, both seniors in the late 70’s and 80s. We have an 2 year old Aussiedoodle I just finished writing about. We can certainly feel your discouraging attitude. They are a very strong dog.Fortunately, my husband is strong but I’m not in a good place because of my falls. We hope that your husband heals quickly and that you shouldn’t feel guilty about Tipper. I’m sure that she’ll be put with the right family. God Bless❤
I have one and would have liked to watch this video before I got him. His name is Buddy and I love him but everything you said is true. The biggest thing is his energy level. I am not a runner but I do take him for walks. Thank good ness I have a yard for him to run in and he does. He was very easy to train, amazing. My puppy is 7 months old and he has not been neutered yet and looking forward to that soon. I am so glad you talk about the energy and when it dies down. I have to leave my dog 7 hours a day for work but he does ok. He loves the 2 year old cat I have and the cat loves him. Thank God for the cat because she uses up a lot of his energy. I have tried to get him to stop nipping and biting but using dog toys doesn't work for us. ? Does he ever grow out of this? Thanks for sharing your video.. How to find good pet insurance? Aww I love Buddy already! For the nipping and biting, I would suggest rewarding him with a treat every time he bites a toy rather than your hand. The most important thing is consistency. They’re smart dogs so after a few weeks, it should help curb his biting
👋 I love your Aussiedoodle, Jackson. Our Aussiedoodle is a 2 year old named Abbie. We love her unconditionally. We have a serious problem with her thinking she is the pack leader. She loves our other dog Bonnie, a sweet Papillon mix. She’s 5 and accepts Abbie but Abbie tries there also to dominate. Both dogs are very loveable. Abbie has a Dr. Jekel and Mr. Hyde personality. In the evening or when she is resting, you have to go way around her or she literally charges us and has bitten us unless we move away fast. This also applies to anything she’s chewing on. Can this biting be stopped? My husband & myself are seniors & have never seen a dog like her before. She is mostly affectionate but when I look into her eyes when she’s angry like this, it’s like she doesn’t recognize us. Any help or suggestions as to this strange behavior would be appreciated. Thanks ps..they both get t a lot of exercise & most days get to go to our beautiful, tree filled dog park. 🐶🌲🦮🌳

I’d definitely recommend a few professional training sessions with a trainer. This might be more effective.
As far as what you can do at home, when Jaxon was very nippy and bitey, I would always hold a toy at hand so he develops the habit of biting a toy rather than myself. Overtime, he learned to not bite my hand. It’s also important to praise when they don’t

I have a mini Aussiedoodle named Maple. She is currently 4 months. She is now going through a phase where she doesn’t like meeting strangers (but last month she was completely fine with it). Do you guys have any tips on how to get her to like meeting strangers? (She tends to get nervous by growling & tries to nip)
I would bring her to a public park! Find a public area and have her sit and people watch. Give her treats intermittently so it’s a positive experience for her. Over time, she’ll get used to seeing people and ultimately not be nervous of strangers
