Something quiet, just two of you, special, romantic.. Not too extravagant (going broke over a proposal isn't cool, at all, starting a marriage off in financial difficulty makes you a fool). Tell her how you feel. Tell her you're not going anywhere. Give her a choice to say no. And let her know if she does, you'll still be there because to you, she's more important than a ring and a bit of paper.

I think today's world has made it seem like flashy public proposals are more romantic. I don't think so. They don't give her feelings any consideration. It's putting pressure on her to say yes. In a way it's even a bit cowardly.
@@KyleenDrake Hmmm... I wouldn't say its cowardly, because some people probably find it as a genuinely charming thing and something to be remembered for the future. That being said, I guess it can also be used as a way to force your partner to say yes. I don't think that's the intention of most people that make public proposals though.
