2-4. I have 2 of sasha's photo, and 1 raymond photo, and i think i have someone elses that i forgot. But i do also have brewsters aswell

I always give the villagers wrapped fossils, after they have been assessed by blathers and get the villager photos quite quickly doing that method. And they don't put them in their house if its bigger than 1 square

For me, wrapped 3 foreign fruits, 6 coconuts or 5 pumpkins works wonders! I’ve collected over 60 photos this way! I always thought the value had to be 1500+ bells 😅
I think the value of 1,500 bells translates to a sale price of 750 bells that he talked about

I still have a lot of success with Stacked fruit. As recently as yesterday in fact.

Gift wrap 3 non native fruit works great.
I've gotten photos from wrapped stacks of 4+ coconuts! Fruit still works, just have to wrap it
If you customize a villager’s house after completing the DLC, you can gift them anything and they won’t display it in their houses. I customized all my villagers houses and can gift them furniture & gyroids and they won’t display it in their homes
I was a bit sad about that. I understand but also sometimes I want them to display stuff I get them. Oh well lol.

Okay but if i give them something that they SHOULD display in their home, they decide to move away, and i have someone come and take them, can anyone confirm if suddenly they WILL have that item displayed?
I’ve always given a wall rack as a daily present. It works pretty quick and they won’t use it in the house as it’s a wall item
I used to just wrap fossils I don’t need for gifts. Anything that isn’t one-square won’t be used in their homes.
Wall items still take up their furniture inventory though.

Fruit still totally works, as long as it's wrapped. There's no need to give wildly expensive things to them.

I do that too and have no problem getting their photos
it just doesn't work anymore with the mail method, because wrapped fruit would empty the inventory space, allowing them to give you something back immediately

Another thing I'd noticed since the 2.0 update when they added villagers asking to visit your house. Kabuki has given me his photo in the mail at least once (possibly twice) through this interaction... but I thought that was a cool little detail. And sometimes if a villager has the bubble and it's because they want to visit, the gift they give you will be their photo. That's how I got mine for Pashmina and Shino. So if there's a certain photo you still need, don't say no to them when they ask to visit cuz you just might be glad you did ;)
I noticed that too, but like the other way around? Deirdre asked me to visit her house and at the end she gave me her photo, I was so happy! But they can give you their photo as a prize for the Scavenger Hunt as well, I got Patty's photo this way!
Raymond interrupted me when I heard balloons about visiting my house but he made up for it by giving his photo to me after🥺
Wrapped assessed fossils has been my go to for ages now. Those and iron wall lamps. Gets you levelled up pretty fast.
I’ve been doing wrapped assessed fossils since I started the game and I’ve gotten a lot that way by gifting them to villagers everyday.
I’m pretty sure the easiest gift is wrapped assessed fossils. They sell for a lot and villagers won’t put them in their house. Also wrapping it gives bonus friendship points
The "reset villagger home" feature is amazing and I love it so so much. I got lucky when I restarted my island and found Skye, Dotty, Pashmina and Ribbot, which are some of my favorite villagers in their respective personality categories, but because they were the first 4 villagers, they were stuck with starter homes. But because of the DLC I just had to talk with Isabelle and their houses returned to their usual style! (Beside Pashmina's, I went straight to redecorating her house based on how it looked in previous games)
I think I'll just stick with wrapping stacks of 10 fruit gifts, it's way less complicated (+Katrina) XD. And it still works quite well 😁.
In the video he said Nintendo patched out that method tho
@@TheSleepyWarlord I think by him saying that it was patched he meant that giving individual fruit doesn’t work
It'll work the same if you stack them in groups of 2. Saves you from going thru fruit so quickly

my routine of getting villager photos quickly are crafting iron wall lamps (crafting also helps you complete nook mile achievements), wrapping and gifting it to my villager. then i head to harv’s island and boost my friendship with katrina!
i’ve also used fossils and wrapped them as well, when i needed to complete the nook mile achievements!
Yep, thos is what I do, too. Iron is difficult for me to get for some reason. So much CLAY

I have 21 villager photos (+ some special character ones) & for the past two or so I've used giant clams (they're freaking easy to gather + no wrapping, full inventory) + talking to the villagers until they invite me or themselves + Katrina. That's worked okay for me & the update explained why I suddenly wasn't getting any anymore for a bit 😂

I go with the method of a 750 bells worth furniture item. Or 3 foreign fruits if I like their interior. About 3 to 5 weeks for a photo works well for me
I have found that cooking fish based recipes seem to work pretty well. I just started a new island a 3 weeks ago and I have gotten 3 photos based on just giving them such recipes
Do they put these in their home? I gifted some a drink and its permanently in their home
@@elysse5983 yes they do put it in their home. However, if you have or get the Happy Home Paradise DLC, eventually you gain the ability to redecorate their homes. If you are trying to keep their houses original, I would suggest against it. 😁
Ooh! I actually never really cared too much in getting their photos quickly, they usually give you their photo in mail after visiting your house after like a few visits. I like slowly collecting them instead of speedrunning through them
Yeah, me too, that's what the game is all about.
I have amiibo cards, so I like to regularly rotate my villagers to keep it fresh, but I do “speed run”(a day by day, no time traveling unless I’m really antsy for a villager) but it’s just so I can really enjoy the person on the island, instead of getting to the point where I only want their photo so they can leave and I can bring on someone new
Bobs gang I give daily a iron wall lamp , to 10 -20 days the villiger Photo is mine . I have 3 photos from Quinn and from other of my Villiger. ❤
Angry Sasha was so cute! I always gifted a few wrapped fruit since I learned about the value thing. I think Katrina’s luck helps! I got a few in one day

In his two years on my island, Kidd has given me his photo FOUR times. It seemed to happen more after the 2.0 update, so I figured something changed with that.
So far, he is the only one to give me that many. The only other repeats are 1 from Caroline and Ribbot.

Ive always done iron wall lamps- super easy to make & they dont display the item in their houses - i have a bunch of photos this way
My native fruit is orange, when I go villager hunting I stack up on peaches and when I don't have those I use sand dollars and giant clams. Giant clams don't come often so I give them to the one who's photo I want the most and give the others sand dollars and go down the list. Sometimes clothes too and certain crafted items. Always a door wreath
Speaking of photos do you remember that you can get a Rover's photo on May Day? Oh boy I'm soooo Glad I don't even had to wait for May day 2022! 😅
Thanks for the video! I didn't know they changed this feature! When I pick up the produce, I always go around and gift my villagers some of it in hopes of getting a photo since I'm good friends with many of them. Guess I better go look for giant clams now, lol

I always give 3 non-native fruit (2 works too but you get 3 per tree) and I have almost 20 photos using just that strategy

My first villager photo was of Hazel, who has been on my island since I first began and I don't wanna get rid of her because I grew attached to get. I technically got Brewster's photo first, then Hazel's, then Gladys'.
it's a shame april fools isn't really a thing in this game, as in new leaf, blanca would impersonate your villagers and if you guessed who the fake was, the villager would give you their photo. i think it would be cool to see that feature return at some point
Yeah, I was disappointed it didn't return too. Then again, I did use it to cheat on getting photos in New Leaf A LOT, so maybe it's for the better on my part lol.

I like cooking the recipes and gifting the prepared food to my villagers. It works really well for getting photos in return.
This makes so much sense why i've been failing at getting photos lately. but I have a LOT of giant clams! I have been getting more duplicates than new ones
I can confirm that with Happy Home Paradise that once you gain the ability to change a Villager's home, no matter what you give them, it won't be displayed.
Now there IS one more item you can give Villagers that fit into the "cost over 750 bells" that Villagers won't display- Fossils! They do have to be assessed by Blathers first. These are my go to gifts.
Doesn't wrapping a stack of 2 or more non-native fruit count as a 750+ item anymore? (Also, wrapping gifts gives extra friendship points.)

I’ve done almost anything I can to get Wart Jr.’s photos. While trying to get his, I’ve gotten Mitzi’s, Zucker’s, Sylvanna’s and *TWO* photos of my boi Elvis. I’ve given Wart Jr tons of fruit, flowers, gyroids, you name it. I’m still determined but it’s been really tricky.
I give the wrapped assessed fossils AFTER I chat with them, I do it every day and I have a lot of photos now. I put them on the Turkey garden stand outside their houses.
I just wrapped three non-native fruit and gave them to my new villager. I get the photo after about a month. Did it recently and on the latest version with Molly.
I’ve only gotten the photos from Jay, Penelope, and Megan.
I wish they stopped changing this. I’m kinda bummed that people were getting them just with fruit and now I’ve got to use more expensive items. But it’s good to know because I’ve been giving items that I don’t think are 750 bells (that they’ve been displaying in their homes) so I’m glad you gave some good examples of items we can give without them being displayed in the house! Since 2.0 I have been giving food items. I have gotten so many photos. Depending on the food items, sometimes I'll get up to 3 in one day! Bob's Gang!

Just wanted to say over the past few months I have been giving Gold Rose Blooms as daily gifts (almost exclusively), so I have given out thousands of them. Not once have I ever seen a villager display one in there homes? Are you sure this can happen? Thanks again.
I should probably look for a video on the topic of villagers moving out/thought bubbles but I'm tired and unmotivated. lol I don't know if this is something anyone else has noticed but I recently accidentally hit a villager with my net when they had a thought bubble over their head. Usually I don't have much time for house visits anyway and it's whatever when they want to sell/give things to you but if you are worried they want to move out, they will immediately lose whatever they were thinking about with a tap from the net. I've tested it out about 4 times since and it's worked every time.
I give them wrapped cooking items (that sell for over 2500 bells) I made from produce/vegetables. Since I want all photos, most of my villagers are rotating villagers, when they give me there photo, they get booted and a new one get in. It usually take me about 20-30 gift per villager to get there photos, some have give me has low has 15, but you can get unlucky, one villager took 57 gifts.

I've noticed that after you redesign their house on your island, it doesn't matter what present you give, they won't display it in their house.
Also, I have around 70 photos and I usually give wrapped iron wall lamps, stacks of foreign fruit, or assessed fossils.
Imagine visiting your friend's home, them showing you new furniture, maybe a TV or bed they got, and then going to City Council and requesting that they put their house back the way they had it! That has to be an omega-level Karen status.
I'm sure the simple, cute life of animal crossing is something many of us wish to experience, but I am glad that is one thing we don't have in reality! Please just let me keep my tacky new rug, and cringy pickle rick poster, please! You even gave them to me!
I currently have 8 Chester photos, 7 Rudy photos and many of our other villagers. I have my living room be the first photo room of my house and a pateren to move around my house for each photo until of course the 7th which goes whereever .

you can stack fruit, wrap it, and still get the photo. i got juila's photo like two days ago when i gave her TWO coconuts stacked and wrapped. i know for sure it was two, thats the number i ALWAYS do, and i still got her photo... and yes, i have the dlc and update.
yeah he's just saying the mail method won't work with wrapped items. it still reaches the minimum bell requirement.
@@ouhhoh ive never done the whole "make em mail it to you" trick, and i never plan to. it does NOT feel as special NOR can i get a cool screenshot of them handing it to me. the 'better odds' dont at ALL make up for the losses above.

I wrap 5 foreign fruits and have been very successful collecting villager photos. Wrapping the gift helps increase the friendship points you receive.

OMG I had no idea you could make your villager angry by just running at them like that. That is so funny. But I give either assessed fossils wrapped or I wrap and give the iron wall lamp. So far I've got every villager that's been on my island's photo. And once they give me their photo, if they ask to leave I'll let them go. But if they ask before I get the photo they've gotta stay. I'm actually running out of wall space for all my villager photos.

I’ve been giving Shino and Walt single wrapped coconuts when our friendship maxed out for the past TWO MONTHS and NOW I’m finding out it means nothing 🙃 I got lucky and got Shino’s when she visited my place but Walt has not given me his photo yet Dx I was always told the best item was the iron wall lamp (something like that) cause it requires the least amount of materials and when you wrap it you get the max amount of friendship points the fastest. I know it’s random tho cause some villagers it takes a couple weeks, others it takes over a month, even if I kept giving them wrapped iron wall lamps so I tried giving coconuts to help but I guess they didn’t mean anything 😅
You didn't mention but if you have a diminishing friendship fortune day you can give Katrina 10,000 bells to nullify it.
I always give them 3 stacked foods, potato, carrot etcetera. Wrapped ofcourse. Seems to work fine, but I might try the gold roses one (don't have blue roses). Have a duplicate photo of Kabuki and multiples of Scoot and Hugh as those two are never allowed to leave my village😈
I have 4 photos of Bones. One was from giving him gifts and others were via Mail and when he came to my house

I have at least 6 photos of Kabuki and at least 4 of most of my other villagers, except for Tybalt and sparrow as they're newest villagers....

i've had ione since december and i don't think her friendship level is increasing with me. i give her clothes every time i'm on, but she still doesn't do things with me like giving me nicknames and going on treasure hunts.

I feel like there are always 1-2 villagers who never give u photos. Most of them would give u photos after 2-5 weeks. And a villager gave me 2 photos in 2 days, so u don't necessarily need to wait 10 days to get a duplicate.
Usually just gave them a stack of 3 wrapped pumpkins. Eventually they would give me their photo.
At this point I’m willing to try anything just to get the last two photos 😂😂

I’m confused about getting a villager to mail a photo. Doesn’t giving the villager something from your inventory free up a space in your inventory?
You need to gift them something from a stack (unwrapped) They get only one item of the stack, so the stack still takes up the space in your inventory.

Nook link is the only way I may ever get photos. It's very hard because I'm never sure what kinds of fossils would be displayed, or if they all just won't be. (Doesn't help I don't play daily) )

If you renovate their houses they won’t display any items so you can gift them anything you like.
Just the other day I had the Fairy Dress in 5 different colors and decided they would look cute on my villagers. When I gave Judy hers she gave me her photo.... I wasn't even trying.....
So new to ACNH, when you go to others villages you use or ID in videos. Do you have to wait til they accept you?
