This song still gives me goosebumps after all these years
Thanks to Jonny Greenwood for this magnificent arrangement with the strings From an orchestra in a church and his playing on the ondes Martenot And of course the wonderful voice and lyrics of Thom Yorke...
Thanks for your reaction..
PS : "The National Anthem" and "Everything in Its Right Place" are on The" Kid A" album...
That's so true. I completely forgot about the Martenot. 😍
It becomes increasingly dissonant but that moment when it resolves is beautiful
Good pickup with the beatles influence, i think about it everytime i hear that discordant string section. One of my favourite songs of all time, im really glad you keep uploading these reactions 🙏
Love this song… and now I want a puppy!
Oh my god! Loving your reactions to Radiohead songs. It's like I am rediscovering them. The second verse of this song always makes me feel a strange kind of melancholia. Thanks for doing this, Rory! Love that Nala is here too. Much love to both of you. ❤
This is my favorite song of all time. Thank you 🙏🏼
Your puppy is adorable lol
Thom Yorke's distinct vocal style has a deeply emotional quality that's uniquely his. As you've talked about, Rory, his voice is a key instrument in this band....and their songs are written to make the most of his beautiful sustained notes and phrasing. (I know you love Oasis, but I don't think Liam has the chops to touch this.)
Also, the Nala cuteness factor is off the charts today. Consider a channel rebrand as: *Rory Reacts & Cuddles Puppies* 😘
This song is my favourite Radiohead song and it's also Tom York's favourite.
Omg..I just can't with the puppy cuteness!!
I really enjoy your reactions to Radiohead and I envy you because you have so much great music to discover. I would love to see some basement reactions especially the other one that you do not see muca at all (The King Of Limbs) which has some more proggy intricate songs like Bloom or Little By Little. I would agree about Oasis for the first half of the song but the second half no way maybe the Beatles because of George Martin but to me it is quintessential Radiohead.
This is the song I've sent to a few people to intro the band and 3 times they texted me saying they ended up crying - not to be chauvinistic just a fact they were all girls - but still...this one is one of their very best, though I end up finding myself repeating that dozens of times.
You should check out The Basement Tapes version of this... exquisite.
I pick my dog’s eye boogers all the time too 😂
Haha…Liam despises Radiohead’s music. He reckons it’s depressing. Poor guy.
Oasis and Radiohead are enemies.
Oasis and everyone are enemies. lol
why?
@@Blaziken271 They don't like each other. Just Google "Oasis Radiohead beef" and you will see. The Gallagher bros have a lot of animosity towards Radiohead for some reason. I think it boils down to plain jealousy.
