    Thanks Kevin.. for validating what I’ve learned the hard way. I’ve been struggling with a large format southwest desert landscape bathed in sunlight, and oh boy I can’t count the number of layers on there. I paint in both acrylic and oils , and I’ve been watching you for..... years? Lol thank you

    Thank you so, sooo much for this video on highlighting with acrylics. As I've said before, I only have acrylic paints to paint with. I've got a painting of Trees, grass, a stone wall, and, some background items. Have done some highlights on the grassy part, but, could never figure out why it doesn't really *look* right. NOW, I KNOW...I need to keep highlighting it. The Sun is supposed to be coming from the right side of my painting, and, now, I need to figure out how to highlight my trees! I'm unsure exactly what color(s) to use while highlighting the tree trunks, but, after watching this video, I'm no longer scared to try different tree trunk colors on them. I never knew how, with acrylics, you need to put layer upon layer of highlighting in your picture. I do really appreciate your advice on that, Mr. Hill ! Thank you again.

    Which paints are good oil or acrylic paints?

    • @crmfineart
      @crmfineart Před 3 lety

      Personally I prefer Acrylics. Because they are great substitute for oils. They are fast, don't demand much materials, dry very fast and cheaper than oils. Best for me because I paint fast and loose style.
      But nothing can beat oils simply because of the tonal range, thickness, softness, unlimited blending, the feel, the symphony! They are eternal.
