I am very flattered about the title of your tune, en français! Tapadh leibh! Tha sibh gràinne-mullaich luchd-ciùil!
Isn’t it a tune of Québécois origin? I think.. or French Canadian of some sort.
Maybe musicians swap tunes. Today quebec composers adapt tunes from french folklore going back to middle-age. It is different of what we were used to hear, reels and jigs. Quebec public need new things in accordance with their past for the new generation. But it does not disqualify the taste for reels and jigs. Here are some tunes you may listen on you tube: Vent du Nord: Au bord de la fontaine and Vent du Nord: La noce tragique with invited singer: Julie Fowlis, a gael singer, who sings in French. Also: Danse traditionnelle québécoise chez Ti-Guy wich is a good adaptation. A real gem. Goodbye, my friend. Mar sin leat, a charaid.
Name for the second tune anyone?
The whole video is the same tune: Franzke en Français
@@JustinDoyleNS
Franzke en Francais is just the last one, the second one is calles St. Andrew's Flight but it's probably an original, by them
The track / set is called “Franzke en Français,” the tunes are as follows:
1. Le Reel de Violon du Monte en Vielle (trad.?)
2. St. Andrew’s Flight (by Calum Pasqua)
3. Dionne Reel (trad.)
4. Franzke’s Reel (by Darren McMullen)
czcams.com/video/WyiFaTXBsPU/video.html&feature=share&EJGixIgBCJiu2KjB4oSJEQ …Here’s the link to their live performance at Celtic Colours Festival, of this set. The description talks a little more about the tunes I think? Or the comments I forgot.
@@erikm8372 The first one is indeed a traditional Québécois tune.
The third one as well, although the title I know is Le reel des cinq jumelles (the five twin sisters reel).
