The Little Engine that Could (2011) but only when the Nightmare Train is onscreen

  • or Cerberus as some people call him.
    I decided to do another video where it's a weird movie you may or may not be familar with but only when it's villain is on screen, plus I haven't done a train related video in a while. And since CZcams basically screwed over the Drake video I made, let's hope it doesn't happen to the villain with the shortest on screen time I've ever seen for a villain so far... and the one who is also racist to dwarves.
    Everything belongs to Universal Pictures.

    In the movie, Rusty said that when they went over the mountain and not through it, some of the trains never returned. I like to think the reason some of them never made it back was that Cerberus (aka the nightmare train) ambushed and killed the engines that were venturing over said mountain. Probably attacking them when ever they broke down or got stuck for what ever reason.

    • @jacktaylor8195
      @jacktaylor8195 Před rokem +5

      Or what if that's just what happens to the trains if they get trapped on the top of the mountain, and the Nightmare Train is just one of many engines trapped there. Since the train is warped, corrupted and quite damaged, I feel it is safe to assume that this wasn't always the case, and that the Nightmare Train was 'normal' at one point in the past.

    • @sabertooth3studioshq838
      @sabertooth3studioshq838 Před 6 měsíci +2

      @ylor8195 That's what I thought at one point. However, he became that way after betraying the others. He didn't like how there were children who got wishes and dreams when they didn't deserve them. So he started bringing children horrible things to punish them. Swapping his cargo for the nightmares,the others found out and were mad, but hearing his side of the story, they thought, "Maybe he's right?" and tried to reason with him. Even making a list of which kids got stuff and which didn't (kinda like the naughty and nice list). But he wasn't satisfied and left; over time, he became what he is now.

    I remember this specific part of the movie giving me nightmares when I was little! For anyone interested I remember getting this movie from a local library and watching it on a DVD player as me and my parents drive back home. It was night, and I was feeling kinda tired. But until this part of the scene at 1:07 where nightmare just rolls back and, and charges forward. it scared the living hell out of me to the point of me getting actual nightmares.
    Also, I remember this scene being a bit different from what I remembered. I thought nightmare was rolling back from the side of the mountain, and remembering nightmare rolling towards more fiercely being more equivalent to a jumpscare, and the fog being more.... Well..... Foggier.
    But I guess all of it is just pure imagination and a mix of sleepiness. It's nice to see this scene again.

    In my headcannon, Cerberus was originally a normal Dream Hauler until he was banished after he was found out for bringing nightmares to the real world behind Tower's back. Upon his banishment, Cerberus became cursed and took a more monstrous shape, nowadays, the other trains consider him a myth. Plus, the disguise he used was probably his former self before being cursed. So what do any of you think?

      I think its interesting, I made a similar one > Cerburs here was one of the dream haulers, the strongest one in the fleet at the time, and friendly but assertive. He loved his job, but he didn't like how there were children who got wishes and dreams when they didn't deserve them. So he started bringing children horrible things to punish them. Swapping his cargo for the nightmares behind Tower's back, the others found out and were mad, but hearing his side of the story, they thought, "Maybe he's right?" " After all, why should bad kids get wishes and dreams as they clearly don't deserve nice things "and tried to reason with him. Making a system of which kids got stuff and which didn't (kinda like the naughty and nice list). But he wasn't satisfied and soon went too far and was kicked out of dreamland forever; over time, he became what he is now.

    I got ya a theory: Nightmare Train actually worked in the dreamland train yard before the little engine came along but due to his appearance was considered too scary so Tower gave him the boot and was exiled to Dream Mountain and he then became what he is now and killed off some trains which quotes Rusty saying "Some trains never made it back" and so he tries to kill any train and take revenge for being outcasted.

    When i was younger, this was not only one of my favourite films, but it was also one of the scariest films i watched. Even though it scared me every time, that didn't stop me from wanting to watch it. It's very strange looking back at these scenes now and not feeling scared at all 🤣

    I wish the villain was included in the 1991 version and have Neil Crone voice the villainous engine.
