He's still the all time points leader for the Boston Celtics after all these years! Thanks for doing the video and highlighting what a great player he was. He was my favorite player growing up and I have so many fond memories of watching him on the Sunday afternoon Game of the Week on ABC I believe. He was a great player, a gentleman on the court ( although a fierce competitor), great family man and human being. You could tell he had the respect of his teammates ,the players of the opposing team and the fans. He played in an era when players didn't pound their chest drawing attention to themselves or show up other players and he was the epitome of sportsmanship! I miss him!

My all-time favorite player, too. What bothers me is that young people today probably only think of him as a sixth man, wondering why he didn't start if he was so great. But they don't realize he started for much of his career and, as Bob Ryan says, was the greatest non-center in the NBA during the early '70s.

      KEVIN House....my 2 cents
A...young people were not born so they don't know why john started his career as a 6th man..
      B...BOB RYAN BLEEDS CELTIC GREEN!!!!
C...i remember back in 1977 when he was on channel 9 nyc..the game was the ny nets vs denver nuggets..half time he trashed the ABA..say what!!!!!.. didn't take him seriously..
      D..peace..enjoy your week
