Thus certain demons turned out to be extremely powerful because of the boons they were granted (although immortality was off the table as it goes against the laws of nature, whatever is born has to die). One of the demons named Tarakasur asked for a boon that only Lord Shiva's son can kill him. Since Lord Shiva was eternally an ascetic, he thought himself immortal and eventually conquered all the different dimensions and ruled for a long time. Long time later, Lord Shiva married Goddess Parvati (that is its own story) and had a son Kartikeya. Since childhood he was trained in the art of war by Lord Shiva himself and is considered the greatest warrior to ever exist. He then killed Tarakasur in battle. He supposedly fought with two swords and that is what is depicted in the fight scene later.
