This video, while mostly accurate, does make a pretty big mistake. Henry VIII had an older brother, Arthur, who was first married to Catherine of Aragon and was the one raised to be king. Henry was raised to be in the church, I believe. He only inherited after Arthur died.

You are correct. Arthur first married Caterina (Catherine) of Aragon and, when he died, Henry VII sought to keep her dowry and then on his deathbed made Henry VIII promise to marry her. The fact that as the heir Henry was intended for high rank in the Church had a hand with the focus of Henry's education bein theology and canon law. This actually gave Henry an edge when he pressed for his divorce from Catherine.

I’m happy they included Elizabeth’s love affairs; most kid shows now only mention her as the Virgin Queen when she was anything but. She once dated a man, dumped him, later dated his step-son who she had executed for trying to lead a rebellion. She also never wanted her cousin, Queen Mary of Scotland, executed. She did sign the warrant, but never submitted it. Her secretary stole it from her desk and did it. Elizabeth was so furious that she had him imprisoned in the Tower of London for 18 months and wrote an apology letter to King James of Scotland, Mary’s son.
Fun fact: Elizabeth was also a pirate queen in a way.

    Song :
Oh listen, ye all to a tale that’s true,
When the War of the Roses tore England in two,
King Richard III one fateful day,
Fought Henry Tudor in a brutal fray.
For poor King Richard life grew worse,
He lost his kingdom for want of a horse.
Henry VII was then made king,
To Elizabeth of York he offered his ring.
She said, “I do! Let’s give it a fling!”
The union again made England one
The couple was blessed with a healthy son.
Young Henry grew up, the castle his home,
When his father passed on he ascended the throne.
Henry VIII took a wife from Spain,
    Catherine Aragon was her name.
She bore him a daughter a cute little one,
But to keep the throne he needed a son.
Back then, that’s how things were done.
For girls , it really wasn’t much fun.
Their rocky marriage couldn’t get worse,
But the pope refused to grant a divorce.
So Henry started a church of his own,
He got his divorce and stayed on the throne.
Then Henry VIII wed Anne Boleyn,
    His former wife’s handmaiden.
    Anne gave birth to Elizabeth,
But with no male kin, well you do the math!
Poor Anne Boleyn, she lost her head,
So once again King Henry wed.
Jane Seymour gave to him a prince,
But poor own Jane hasn’t woken up since.
So for a while, our Henry grieves,
Then he marries Anne of Cleves.
Anne came from fine German stock,
Their marriage was cancelled in less than a year.
His fifth wife, Catherine Howard, was dear.
But Henry found out that her love was not true,
He gave her the axe, what’s a fella to do?
So after five, came wife number six,
Catherine Parr is who Henry picks,
He promised her he would do her no harm,
So six wives proved to be the charm!
Henry gained pound right after pound,
Till he needed machinery to move him around.
He weighed about a quarter ton,
Cause he couldn’t resist a sticky bun.
    In 1547,
Henry VIII went off to heaven.
Or maybe for his dirty tricks,
    To HE double hockey sticks!
His young son Edward was only 10,
When he took the English throne but then,
Poor Edward died by age fifteen,
His reign was followed by a queen.
Jane Grey ruled for just 9 day,
She lost her head, to coin a phrase!
Mary Tudor was next in line,
The British throne is mine, mine, mine!
Mary had strength, she took no flack,
She brought the Catholic church right back!
At 42 Mary met her death,
    Then along came queen Elizabeth.
She was loved by her people and made England strong,
She had a few boyfriends, they didn’t last long.
The Elizabethan age was just and fair,
But Elizabeth never gave birth to an heir.
And so we sing our last refrain,
The end finally came to the Tudor’s reign.
    Elizabeth died in 1603,
The end of the Tudor’s family tree.
    The end of the Tudor’s
    There can be no disputers,
The end of the Tudor’s family tree…
Chop, chop, chop, chop, chop, chop, chop!
    Timber!

🏵️🪓Terrible Facts of the Terrible Tudor Era🪓🏵️ -
Anne Bolyne, Henry VIII’s 2nd wife, wasn’t beheaded by an axe. Henry arranged for her to be executed by an expert French swordsman. They reckon that Anne’s head came off so quickly her lips were still moving when they picked it up! But Anne was lucky compared with what happened to Mary Queen of Scots 50 years later. When she was executed, the executioner missed on his first go. He only nicked the side of her head. The second chop got her in the neck but it still didn’t finish her off. The executioner tried again and to be on the safe side he used the axe like a saw to take her head off. And when he picked up her head, the executioner didn’t know that Mary wore a wig. The head fell out of the wig and rolled across the platform!
Henry VIII’s son Prince Edward once lost his temper with his teacher. In his fury, he took a pet hawk pulled out its feathers and tore it in 4 pieces and said he’d like to do the same thing to his teacher!
And before he died, his fingers turned black and dropped off!
Bloody Mary was infamous for burning protestants at the stake, but sometimes she ordered to have bags of gunpowder strapped to their legs so they’d explode all over the place and be dead before they knew it!
And when the Duke of Northumberland rebelled against Mary, he was sentenced to be hanged, drawn and quartered. But the judges came up with a more horrible punishment for the Duke. They ordered the executioner to pull out his heart and throw it in his face!
A publisher called Stubbs wrote a book that dared to criticise Queen Elizabeth I, so she sentenced him to have his writing hand cut off!
The date - 7th October 1571. The place - The Gulf of Patras in the Ionian Sea near Western Greece. The event - The Naval Battle of Lepanto. The mighty Ottomans 🇹🇷 were up against the combined forces of the Spanish 🇪🇸, Italian 🇮🇹 and Maltese 🇲🇹 navies, fighting for the future of Europe. The Ottoman captain could see the enemy ships were too far away to fire a single cannonball at. So, what would he do? Wait patiently and conserve energy for the battle ahead? NO! He and his crew tried to start a dance off! Now if the Spanish captain had any sense, he would ignore the crazy Ottoman behaviour. BUT HE DIDN’T! He actually got his shipmates to dance! Soon the battle got underway and you’d think things would get serious by now, right? WRONG! One Spanish sailor got his whole hand blown off! He needed to stop the bleeding, but he couldn’t find any bandages. So he used a dead chicken as a bandage! Soon the Ottomans ran out of ammunition and the enemy ships were closing in on them. So the Ottomans used fresh fruit as makeshift cannonballs!

And poor baby Mary xD Henry was like "get out!!! *sees Mary cry* not the baby, you!!!" After all, Catherine was kicked out and estranged from her daughter xD funny how on a comical level it was accurate to that point.
People need to stop complaining, I think things like these are supposed to lure you to gain interest and research these things. Almost nothing but the Catherine of Aragon and Anne Boleyn switched pictures are incorrect, geez guys.
Want accurate, don't be lazy and go read a history book and allow the rest of us with a sense of humour to enjoy this.

She actually did look fair, not like model material, obviously, but when Henry showed up, he thought that it’d be like she’d recognize him from the get-go, like in a fairytale. But being from Germany, she didn’t know many stories, and Henry was enraged on her appearance not looking much like a princess turned queen, mostly due to the fact that the painter Hans Holbein the Younger exaggerated her beauty. Anna of Cleves wasn’t ugly, she just didn’t quite live up to Henry’s expectations.

Great song, but Anne Boleyn was beheaded with a sword, not with an axe. Henry VIII even brought an expert executioner from France to England for her execution.

Everthing wrong with this 1 arthur was the first one to marry cathrine aragon and henry was still 12 there
2 and the reason he divorced chaterine of aragon is beacause anne boleyn was attractive to him
3 prince edward was very smart
4 do i have to say it if i need to anne of cleaves wasnt that ugly the king found her face unnatractive and the reason he kind of married her because of a beatiful potrait of her
4 they didnt mention chathrine howard was anne boleyn's cousin

    Time to correct:
Firstly the obvious the pictures of Anne Boleyn and Catherine of Aragon are the wrong way round,
secondly Richard the Third did not lose his kingdom for want of a horse that was added by Shakespeare of course! (Horrible Histories Reference),
Thirdly Henry was raised in Eltham Palace not a Castle and finally Mary Tudor should have said English throne as British still applied to the Native Britons (Welsh, Cumbrians, Cornish) until the Acts of Union 1707 when it was to be applied to all inhabitants of the Island, to be fair though since I live in Britain I have learnt this from a very young age.

Not to mention, Henry and Catherine of Aragon's marriage was initially a happy one. It's only when their daughter Mary was born after a series of miscarriages and stillbirths that Henry's eye started to wander.

    Fun Facts:
0:48 Henry wasn't fat yet he actually had an incredibly fit body
0:51 Henry's brother Edward was supposed to be king and marry Catherine but died after his marriage which Henry took place and married his brother's widow (which the bible says leads to childlessness)
0:56 Henry actually tried to get his daughter Marry to wed Charles the V (Henry's cousin) though it was denied
1:07 it wasn't that the Pope refused but Charles prevented the Pope from doing much and the priest he sent to deal with the problem was too old to do anything
1:28 Anne was executed due to charges of Adultery with a musician and making fun of Henry's P***s

sadlobster1 Well, divorces are simpler in other cultures. I believe in Islam, it's pretty simple for a man to get divorced but quite futile if you're a woman.
I did learn about early Mesopotamia and apparently a man could divorce his wife just by proclaiming she wasn't his wife.
