I am a mom of 5 kids. Homeschooling with toddlers can be a little tricky. So here is what I use to keep my toddler busy while I homeschool my older kids. In these bins are educational activities for toddlers. Most of them are budget friendly and I even give some homemade toddler activity ideas you can try right now! These busy bins can even be used for preschoolers as I've seen my preschoolers ask to play with them. ;) I hope you enjoy looking inside my toddler busy bins and get some great toddler activity ideas!
THANKS FOR WATCHING!!!

How do you look vibrant, rested and glowing with that many young ones!! Girl, Keep it up🥳 love it
Makeup. 😂😂😂 Thanks for your kind words. 😊❤
It’s so good to see another parent with children close in age like mine. Finally someone who can relate! Mine are 7,6,4 1/2, 18 months and I’m pregnant. I’ve been a SAHM for over a decade and I’m still learning. Thank you for sharing.
Yay!!! Yes!!! I know plenty of mamas that have 5 or more kids, but not all this young! It's such a different world when they're all so little. I realized the other day that we can't switch our 1 yr old to a stay in car seat yet because the kids who sit in the back row can't all buckle themselves up yet!!! 🤦 So we're working on that one!
Plus...I clip ONE HUNDRED tiny finger and toenails when we do bath day. ONE HUNDRED!!! 😂😂😂😂
Lol!! I literally just counted on my fingers and said wait... I forgot toes. 😆 I’m so glad my children for the most part can buckle themselves in. It’s the getting out... and my pregnant stomach that’s a hassle.
I did not realize you are from South Carolina! Me too!!! I wish we could be friends in real life because I LOVE your channel and you seem like such a sweet soul.
aww shes to adorable
Thank you! ❤😁
Friday, lacing, peg board addition pegs also 1+2=3 make a row 1,2 3 .visual add& subtract and help recognizing 10 frames just use top 2 rows show a number 7 , singles 5+2
Leave row empty
Another 10 frame on bottom make kid do 7. Then take off stack match tower to self correct.
Include a shoe string easier to thread, or a cord with tape on top and a knot & bead at bottom can lace.
Also find anything in a ten grid so can do adding with different colors make stairs 1+9
2+8 ( where all add to 10 in as sending order the 1&2&3 etc different solid color them other
Like green for 1 then rest red so easy to see.
Then play descending.
❤️❤️ Bought the Magnets and Water wows!! We are homeschooling for the first time this year! 8th, 7th, and preschool!
The peg toy is wonderful! Still have mine from the late 80s! It is one of the handful of toys I've saved over the years. If I can figure out how to post pictures here, I will!
I have a shoestring that stays in the box with it for lacing the pegs, it is great for color matching either by rows or stacking, counting, create color patterns, string rubber bands around pegs to create letters or shapes, or strum like a guitar, etc. Still comes out when toddlers are visiting and they all love it! There is an updated version at Discovery Toys www.discoverytoys.us/collections/dt-classics/products/giant-pegboard-r
That is from discovery toys and is a big peg board type toy. I have it and my kids love it
thank you for the link!! I ordered some just now!
Thanks so much for this resource. I will make some bins for my daughter to start on Monday
LOVE LOVE the concept of busy bins! My daughters are 2yo and 8mo! Hello mama “free time” 😁
Aww her little giggle 🤗
Thank you so much for sharing I love your busy bins and all the different activities for the toddlers working women have a blessed day I'm so glad I subscribed thank you again🙏❤
Very very helpful 🙂👍 thank you for sharing 😊
The best mommy in the whole world, Sooooo sweet ❤️ the best compliment a mother could ever receive!
We use a lot of these as well! Magnaforms and Water Wow are two of our favorites! I like the idea of doing them as daily boxes. Right now I just have a crate I keep it all in that is dubbed our “busy crate.”
I can’t wait to put our busy bins together for my 2 year old! Love this! Thanks for sharing!
Yay for busy bins!!! ❤ They have worked so well! Sometimes she goes off and plays with something else but they are a good way to invite solo play. 😁
I am saving this video! I have been wanting to make day of the week bins for my preschooler and toddler during our family subjects. This was very helpful!
Oh I'm so happy I could help! ❤ These bins have been life savers some days! 😂
This is a great idea. I'm gonna see if I can find binds like this for my two year old. Thanks for the inspiration!🙂
Thank you! ❤
Great content Dina! I’m putting together new busy boxes this year for my last kiddo and you’ve got great ideas!
Thanks Kaylinn! I'm so happy I could help! I'd love to see what you end up with! ❤
Awesome ideas thank you! I'm homeschooling a 4 year old, with an almost 2 year old constantly causing trouble lol. This will be a big help.
Great topic and ideas 😊
I love the keys!
Brilliant ideas ❤️ Thank you 🙏
You are so welcome Tracey! Thank you! ❤
Bought my bins today and have an Amazon list going! My 2 year old will love! TY for another great video!
Oh great!!! I'd love to see the finished result! Are you on IG?
Pursuing Peace, yes I am! I will post it to your bin post when I finish! 💕 It may take me a little while-I piled up the projects to MAKE myself go slow and stretch them out (I’m normally a get it all done in a day person 🤣)
I'm so glad I found your channel!! I have a 5 year old, 4 year old, 3 year old, 11 month old and I'm expecting #5 the end of May. We are homeschooling as well. I'm loving all the advice and encouragement I am finding in your videos so far. Thanks.
Oh that sounds SO familiar mama! 😁❤ I'm so happy I could help! I started this channel because I always felt having so many littles so close together was it's own unique challenge. And sometimes it can be a lonely place. So I hoped to encourage mamas in the same situation. ❤ I'm always here to help! ❤
This was so helpful! My son transitioned to 1 nap so I need to start building busy bins for him while I homeschool my daughter.
Yes! These have saved many a homeschool day. 😉😁❤
Such a great idea! Thanks for sharing. I'm definitely going to try this.
Oh great! These bins have been a lifesaver! ❤ I hope they help you in your homeschooling!
I was just thinking how I have a ton of random educational and sensory activities I've picked up over the last few years, but they don't get uses often because we don't have a good way to use them if that makes sense. But if I put them in the busy bins then I think they'll get utilized a lot more.
This was so great! I will be homeschooling for the first time this Fall for my kindergartener, but I also have a 2.5 year old and will have a newborn also! I'm a little overwhelmed, but this is giving me great ideas to keep my toddler busy. THANK YOU!
Oh I'm so happy this was helpful Kristin! I'm doing a homeschool Q&A video soon. Do you have any specific questions I can answer for you??
@@PursuingPeace Yes actually! How do you keep your kiddos motivated if they are having trouble with a concept or just not interested in learning that day?
I love how you change things out everyday! I have a busy bin for Ezra, and I usually change that out weekly to keep things fresh. But, having a daily system is so smart! Great ideas here, friend! 😍
Woohoo! You crosses over 1000 subs!! ❤️
YES! Thank you! I'm so grateful!!! ❤ ❤ ❤
Omg so many great ideas! I’m super pumped to put together some of these for my little guys! Thank you! 💜
new subscriber and already love your content! :)
Thank you! ❤ Welcome to our little CZcams family! 😊
This is a truly fantastic video! As a mother of nine, after twelve years of homeschooling, I needed new ideas! I'd like to know when you use these in homeschool and how long you leave them out for each day? Do you give them the bin too? I love this video and your sweet daughter! ❤️
Thanks Jennifer! I pull them out once I'm done with one on one time with my toddler. Then she can play with them or just go off and do her own thing. I pull them out but I just put them in a place where my old kids can pull them out for me if I needed them too. 😉
Both of ur smile is very cute😄
Thank you! ❤
This is such a great idea! Thank you your awesome! Where can I find labels for the bins?
So your peg board is from discovery toys. I had one for my kids and they are in their 30’s. You had a rep come to your house with learning toys for a show... it was fantastic. The board can be used in many different activities.
Oh wow! Thanks for the info! I got it at a homeschool consignment sale and am definitely loving to watch my kids create with it.
I'm 33 and was homeschooled for elementary. My mom was a discovery toys rep. Now I have a 2, 7 and 8 year old and they play with those toys and read books from discovery toys at her house. High quality and classic 👍
Love your ideas! just started following you. Just wondering how you keep kids out of your neat homeschooling shelves. My 19 month old will dump it all out in a second :/ looking for ideas to stay organized for easy access for my almost 5 year olds HS.
You go girl ! I’m amazed at the Christ in you!!!!!!
We just bought a bunch of open stock RePlay links and keys from CottonBabies. Super cheap. We ordered some recently. Might be a cheap and easy way to replicate the key sorting game. 🥰
You inspire me! I only have a 2 in a half almost 3 year old. You have 5 kids. I feel behind. I need to buy all these things lol 🤯
I am a new subscriber what sold me is you being into God I love it! Thank you for this unique content!
❤️❤️❤️🤩
Just ordered the bins and will be implementing this next week with my toddler:) how often do you change the stuff in em? When you do change them up, do you change one item at a time or the whole thing?
Yay! How fun! I change them about once a semester depending on how my little one likes the toys in them. I'm about to change them soon. I change them all at once so they're all fresh toys. 😁 I hope your little one enjoys their new bins! ❤
Thank you for this video! Do you switch your bins out each week?
Not each week. Probably more like every season. 😁
This is great! What part of SC are you in? I’m in the upstate!
Thanks! ❤ We're in the Midlands. 😁
I have 3 yr old I’m trying to start teaching. I haven’t really had much structure and have been going over basic lessons without much direction. I’m feeling pressure to enroll him
I’m preschool but I would prefer to keep him home. What I’m unsure about is when to do the lessons. I also have a 1 yr old and am pregnant so I’m trying to figure out how to schedule. This video is very helpful, but I wanted some guidance as to what time of day you would do these lessons and how long.
Hi! At this age it's not essential to do any structure so don't let anyone tell you otherwise. 😉 However, if you're like me, you need a little structure to do anything productive. You really only need about 15-20 min a day of structured learning time. The rest of the day can be playing and reading to them. You can fit this time into whatever part of the day is best for your child. (I.e. NOT right before nap time or snack time if they get fussy when they're hungry or tired)
Here are some curriculum you can look into for this age:
Before Five In A Row
Letter of the Week (Confessions of a Homeschooler)
The Good and The Beautiful PreK
Hope this helps! 😁❤️
Thank you so much! I’m subscribed and really enjoying your videos. 😊
The peg board can be used to add, substract: 2 blue and 3 red.... count how many¿
Oh brilliant!!! Thank you!!!

Peg board from Discovery Toys
I've tried to have special things for my 3 year old to do while I homeschool the other child but then he (my just turned 7 year old) gets jealous and wants to do the "fun" thing. 🤦🏽♀️ How do you combat that? We are very minimal on book work bcuz he just wants to play. We do TGTB languages arts and math and we definitely can't get 4x a week in so we'll be schooling through the summer.
Omgosh yes! This is a common issue in our house. I try to have the little one playing in a different room so the other child doesn't get distracted. I've also let the older child play with the little one's toys AFTER they're done with school. Then it's a fun little incentive.
I've been wanting to put some 'busy bins' together for my 1.5 year old while his old sister is doing her pre k work. Thank you for sharing these great ideas! Also, here's a link to a similar peg board that I found on Amazon! God Bless!

Thank you Kayla! I've been wanting to get another peg board! ❤
@@PursuingPeace You're welcome :) !
That is not a toddler .... 😭
