  • The Ghost Inside accept the award for "Most Dedicated Fanbase" at the 2016 Alternative Press Music Awards, fueled by Monster Energy in their first onstage appearance since the band's 2015 bus accident.
    Bassist Jim Riley and vocalist Jonathan Vigil shared the mic to thank a community of fans and members of the music industry for their positivity and support.
    "What finally got me to want to do this again was our fans," explains Vigil after telling the audience he had been sure he was done with music entirely, and if not for them, he wouldn't have gotten back onstage.
    The band end their speech by dedicating the award to their bus driver and the driver of the semi in the crash who passed away.

      I have a question about TGI. are they still injured from their accident? One of them had a cast on his leg amd it's been almost a year since their accident?

    • @Ryan_hey
      @Ryan_hey Před 8 lety

      NathanDrums Yep, they're all still recuperating, learning how to do just normal things in life again. Only news is that the first show they have booked is Warped Tour 2017, but they still got a lot of mending to do between now and then.

They deserved the award and the dedication they received and i'm glad they decided too keep going.

    I met the lead singer Vergil at a show in Portland OR and me and my friend got to talk to him for a few about their music and the band them self and he as well as the rest of the band are literally the nicest people ever they were in the middle of putting there band stuff up into the bus and stuff and were vary limited on time and rushing but the lead singer still went out of his way to come out and talk to us and stuff and my heart goes out to them ✌🏻️🙌🏻❤️

I remember first hearing about the incident and then actually seeing them at the awards with crutches and one of them with a prosthetic leg just made me go “Damn dude. They really went through a lot.” Much deserved award. Wonder how they’re doing now. Hoping they’re in a much better place and that they keep the music in their souls always.❤️❤️

    I found The Ghost Inside years ago when I heard their first incarnation A Dying Dream on my Pandora Radio Stream. Then I found their then new album at the time "Fury of The Fallen ones" (which to me is a masterpiece of melodic metalcore) and they became my favorite band for a few years. I kinda lost track of them because I didn't really dig "Get What You Give" but I read on my feed they had gotten into a pretty bad accident. I didn't think much of it because you hear about bands wrecking vans and shit now and then. But not until I saw this video, with John on crutches, the other member with a cane and the worst of all the member with the prosthetic leg. It might not be all the same member from when I enjoyed them, but it's still sad to see. I hope the best for this band, that through their recovery that they become incredibly stronger than what they were previously and it shows in their new music through beauty. To quote Candace from Walls of Jericho "Without struggle, their is no strength."

      You probably just don't get it. It was quiet and seemed off because he was throwing shots at the APMA's, Bryan Stars, and Austin Jones, so all the fans got butt hurt, and didn't laugh so it didn't make you laugh like it would have otherwise. Or at least that's what I assume. I thought it was hilarious how he bashes everyone and just does not give a fuck. As for the fan video, total cringe, but she looks like she's awkwardly having fun, but fun, so good on her. Glad she seems happy.
