Man that bit with Gummigoo hurt. Pomni managed to find someone she can relate with, & he just gets snapped. At least she's seems to register the others truly care about her and each other at the end.

The fact that this show is only two episodes in and has already become so successful is truly amazing.
Love how in the pilot, pomni is scared, anxious, and unfamiliar with her surroundings, while in the first episode, she seems to be a bit more comfortable in the circus

His only personality traits seems to be "oop well he's just an asshole lol 😋" and characters like that only work for me if there's more to them kinda like Blitz from Helluva boss

@@toriiskarlet274I enjoy asshole characters so long as they always get their comeuppance by the end of the episode. Like seasons 1-3 squidward for example. But right now jax hardly gets any punishment for his actions and it just isn’t fun to watch. Loving the rest of the characters tho

It's easy to tell there's more going on beneath the surface just from watching his expressions, like when it softens for just a moment and looks like he's about to cry at the mention of Kaufmo's funeral before he walks off angry. More than likely he's the type of person to hide his vulnerable feelings under anger and mean spirited jokes, even if he does care. We have no way to tell though right now, because we've seen him for a total of 2 episodes, totaling less than an hour. Character development hasn't been a priority for the series this early yet.
I think that smile Pomni gave at the end was comfort in the knowledge that she's not the only one suffering inside this game and that she's surrounded by support.
I think the end is about Pomni realizing she isn’t gonna be forgotten if she does abstract, and finds comfort in that. She kinda has a family now. Remember at the beginning, the dream Pomni had made it seems like that, in her mind, her life seemed nothing but a joke to the others. Just like a real jester! Even Jax says “I don’t even remember her name.” So she thinks there’s no point in waking up and going on adventures if it all means nothing in the grand scheme of things… just like how Gummigoo was feeling. But with the funerals they throw for the abstracted, they won’t be forgotten and instead celebrated and even find ways to help each other not reach that lowest point in their life, signified by the others grabbing Pomni’s hand before she falls into the dark place.
Or that’s just me.
It's not just you. I thought the same way about the connection between the beginning and ending.
Man what outstanding character development for Gummigoo, I hope when he comes back in future episodes Gummigoo will be a great friend to Pomni having their friendship develop.

Absolutely loved this episode. I find it interesting the way Princess Loo referred to Caine as "God". Definitely something the theorists will eat up.
If Caine created the whole Candy Canyon Kingdom, then yeah I guess he would technically be their creator or “God” in a sense.
The real question I’m surprised no one is asking is, since he’s also an AI, who created Caine and why?
@@MrMnM-ed5ht| "Caine" stands for "Creative Artificial Intelligence Networking Entity." He was created by the same people that originally coded the Circus to entertain its players. Judging from his name, his role is to generate games and populate them with lesser AI. Like the Circus comes with a built-in game developer.
HOWEVER, you can also tell by how he behaves he was likely designed with children in mind. He does his best, but he clearly has trouble understanding and entertaining adults.

I believe it's suppose to relate to her dream where she was scared of being forgotten after abstraction. The funeral helped her realize that if she does abstract, they will remember her. Also, before the funeral, I don't think she considered the others as friends, but she might now.

Pomni comforting Gummigoo is definitely my favorite scene. It shows character development and amazing writing on both of them 🥺
I have to say, it's wonderful they took a completely unexpected turn with this episode. Such exploration of mindsets, leaving enough time to build conversations and not throwing senseless mayhem without reason. I'm loving this, and hoping for more later on.
Pomni felt at the end that they actually care by the way they talk about kaufmo. A relief that when she goes or dies, they will talk fondly of her too.
Scoot it's been picked up (they're just not doing a whole season release at once as it'd be much longer than six months between episodes)

I honesty love how open and vulnerable Pomni was will to be with Gummigoo. Fun early character development
I think the ending was her realizing that they do care about the people here, her first day someone basically died and just got put into a hole, and then gummygoo did as well and the others didn’t seem to care. In her nightmare they’ll all mocking her as she abstracts, but the funeral made her realize they would care and try to help her out

25:27 at first in Pomni's dream she was getting abstracted and no one in the circus cared so she thought that they just dont care and she will be forgotten if she went abstracted but at the end in the funeral she saw that they actually do care about their friends and all so her dream changed that was whats going on

I have a theory that all the characters in the circus worked in some way at the company that is programming the digital circus.
The digital circus being a prototype for an augmented reality, with cutting-edge technology never tested before, so much so that it would be necessary to have guinea pigs who could test the game and be observed full time, It has been confirmed that Pomni is good with numbers and math, perhaps she was one of the programmers, she also seems to know a lot about games and their possible problems unconsciously, other characters also have qualities to be from a gaming company, game/character design, Jax likes to play video games, maybe tester (he's the youngest, testers don't always need experience) and etc...
The Great Mighty Poo! Yes! I never played _Conker's Bad Fur Day_ but I've watched the GMP walkthrough video.
Horrifying thought: Gummigoo and Princess Loo could return in a later episode, but... what if they didn't "die" this round, but _remember?_ What if they HATE Pomni and Company over their perceived (in the case of Gummigoo) or real (Loo) betrayal? Can Gummigoo even abstract, or would he just turn psychotic? Would Loo go all Furiosa over her kingdom's destruction and come back as a partially-eaten berserker?

Gummi being deleted or poofed infront of pomni not only after coming to terms with his own existence but helping pomni slowly get closure as she then had someone to relate to someone who understood her mental turmoil and questions he just gets taken away from her like thats so sad man and the fact caine just does it infront of her giving her the message that if she did befriend an npc if she attempted to bring them back with her to the circus theyd be poofed back anyways so there’s no point :((
Despite that tragic end tho i dont think this is the last we see of gummi considering hes been made into a plushy, i doubt theyd make him into a plushy if he wasnt decently important to the plot my question is tho is that if we do see him again whenever that may be will he still remember his falk with pomni? Considering caine mightve reset him and his code back to its start when he poofed him away/“deleted” him because depending if he does or doesnt remember what happened last will infact change how he reacts to seeing pomni again or will change the situation hes in next, it might also give a different reaction out of pomni depending if he does or doesn’t remember
