Thumbs up to Jeff's performance. R.I.P. We lost a legend.
He was a genius...
Beth has more soul in her body, then most singers and including the choir. Just love her so much!!!!!!!!!!!!!❤❤
I was floored when I saw Beth Hart perform this at the Kennedy Centre Honors. No one could have sang this better. Such a powerful voice. Still rewatchng this more than 10 years later
Whats with the dislikes?! This is music folks. Fucking go on your on way if you don't like what you are hearing.
the thumbs down do not know the real good music
She owns this song.
Beth is a star..a queen ...a godess ... For me , the best female blues singer ...
I watched her sit in last night at our local joint Mother's Tavern in Sunset Beach. Standing about 7 feet away. In a small intimate setting like Mother's Tavern watching the Queen of Sultry melt the audience was the coolest thing I've seen in a long time. Just Wow! Being immersed heavily in the blues scene, it caused my bone marrow to shimmy 🥵
This is one of my fave performances of all time. Beth Hart is pure magic.
Ann Lola,yes.
@@monkeyfist1068❤😂
Agree, and Jeff Beck is feckin amazing...
absolutely. Jeff Beck is a LEGEND!!! @@samjohns3227
Same here. I come back to watch this often!
Buddy is completly mesmerised with Beth
They later did a project together called What You Gonna Do About Me. They recorded their parts separately, but the editing was good enough to make it hard to tell.
Man, I’m so happy they gave her a standing ovation, I mean from rock bottom Beth with drugs addiction and all that shit to the president of the united states and Led Zeppelin and buddy guy giving u all this credit…. From a fellow ex addict to you Beth i love you so much!
Blues and Rock have died a slow, painful death in the U.S. But despair not. Artists like Hart and Beck sell out huge arenas in Europe, Asia and South America. The popular music scene in the U.S. is hopelessly lost, but it lives on in other parts of the world.
Any person who can upstage a Jeff Beck like Beth does her deserves a large amount of respect. Not to diminish Jeff, not one tiny bit.
+Mic Tod™ AHHH NOT!
+holmeed
you're probably right......lol
+Mic Tod™, "Upstage a Jeff Beck"? Hardly. Jeff makes Beth sound great.
+Led ZeppelinFan Please............. 2.5 million views and counting. 2,000,000 have watched for BETH HART!! silly man..and I agree with Jack Black---Led Zep, Best Rock n Roll band EVER
Well, wouldn't say she upstaged him, 'cause they're not doing the same thing. A great vocalist will pull a lot of focus from the others in the band.
What an amazing voice. She doesn't sing blues music. she is the blues.
oh, who did not like this?
Can't beat our Beth! Magic
Most singers sing the lyrics, this woman sings the emotion behind them
Buddy is savoring the moment there. That’s a tribute to Beth and the band.
Jeff Beck is the only musician that I would pay $500 to watch him play for one night. Truly a master, and I'm going to miss him when he's gone.
Buddy can’t believe this happening. Great moment for him.
That's my girl Beth Hart, my gosh I'm lucky to know her! She was a star from the time I met her at age 14! She is just amazing! The real deal!!!
494 Dislikes don't understand that one. The older I get the more I listen than talk and I could listen to this lady till I die. Wow she is a real singer not an X factor product. Keep going Beth just discovered you and Joe Bonamassa over the last few months and my god what have I been missing.
Yes, I think the version with Bonamassa is worlds better. Jeff hits a few notes into the song, but Bonamassa lives the song just like Beth so live Bonamassa is worlds better
I saw her when she was on Star Search. She blew me away singing a Melissa Etheridge song. A few days later I saw an ad in the L.A. Weekly that she was appearing at a place close to me. I remember the little af said "The amazing Beth Hart This Bitch Can Sing". I saw her quite a few times after and I'm happy that she's achieved the success she has.
RIP JB - you never know what you have until it’s gone
OMG....Beth Hart....speechless....I’ve got chills from head to toe...enough said.
Hello dear how are you doing..?
Lucky audience... they got not only brilliant Beth Hart and Jeff but also Heart with Stairway to heaven that night... two of the best performances ever
Had the good fortune of seeing Jeff Beck with Beth Hart in Melbourne, Aus, some years back. All I can say is unless you are at the top of your game don't collaborate with this powerhouse of a singer. She will make you look nothing less than a support act.
Maybe Bonnie should run for President!
Let me reiterate what I was trying to say. Beth Hart proved in her performance of 💯 I'd rather go blind that it makes no difference what color your skin is in order to play and feel the blues.✨ We are all just human, we all feel pain, we all feel heartache and then some of us can even sing the blues!! We have to get these stereotypes out of our minds and realize that all of us are made from the same cut of fabric ❤️💯❤️ Etta James would be proud 💕💘💕 I believe being able to sing like 💯 that does not come from experience I believe it comes from a gift that God gives certain people in this world 🙏🎶🙏
Everything you said is absolutely 💯right God blesses his choicen few with talent to sing
I read somewhere that Simon Cowell once told her she didn't have what it takes to make it as a singer.
Aaa@❤
She got a standing ovation from Zeppelin, man. And Zeppelin is one of her favourite rock groups. Must be honoured to receive a recognition from your idols.
Watch her exhale at the end. She was giving it all - and got to finally let it go.
💯 ❤
👍✌
It's called soul music for a reason
Jeff Beck and Beth Hart -- does not get better .
Beth Hart is one of the most underrated performers of our time....,talk about passion, WOW, love her.
Indeed... this gal is a powerful natural , from the depths of her soul mighty BLUES performer...
OUTSTANDING!!I REALLY CAN'T GITT ENOUGH OF THIS GORGEOUS LADY... SHE LEAVES ME JUST
ABOUT.... BREATHLESS.....
I love her even I do not understand all.words.deep soul
Yes
I moved to Santa Barbara from Boston 4 years ago and I only just found Beth yesterday September 2019. She is beyond amazing .... currently she is on tour and hopefully Beth Hart will be here in her own hometown .. Santa Barbara Bowl please !
Not underrated, she just has to limit her working time, for her health.
SHE is ameizing!!!!! This song... WOW!!!!!! I Thank GOD for Beth and Etta 🌷🌷
Beth, be proud stay confident hold your head up high your music is good for the soul and universe, I ❤your music it’s my therapy!
What's going on inside me when I hear Beth Hart.
I've just found Beth Hart!! Where is the hoopla over a woman who can sing like this?! I happened upon her by accident. I liked Janis Joplin as a kid, but to me,this lady is even better. What a voice, what a talent!!
She's definitely really an underrated artist that not enough people know about. It makes me sad to see all the "artists" out there now that are so popular that literally have no singing voice and don't put any emotion into songs and someone like Beth is out there completely blowing all of them out of the water.
+beatlemania54 you want to hear her one up janis listen to Am i the one from live at paradiso... mind blowing vocal
+beyondthepale7997 yassss! She is amazing!! Bi polar is such a hard disease to deal with. Watch her interview with Marie Osmond
I cry like a baby every time I watch this, and I watch it a lot. The way Beth sings it, and Jeff plays..the way Buddy looks her..Barack and Michelle.. and Led Zeppelin for fuck's sake.. mesmerized by this amazing performance.. this is everything
It's the epitome of perfection. You have good taste.
Perfect. You won my internet today!
so do i
Oh, I so agree. What a lot of class from the Kennedy Center honoring artist. What a class, Thank you 🎸🎸🎸🎤🎶🥁🎹🎸🎸🎸♥️♥️
Thank you to all the musicians, artist..., Thank you President Obama (44Rocks) , Flotus 44,
Thank you KENNEDY CENTER. All such class♥️♥️♥️
Goosebumps Jeff Beck❤❤ And Beth has sole, grit😮brilliant voice❤
Wow. I don't have anything to say because no words are enough. Thank you for the music.
She's incredible!😎💕won't be disappointed, she's a force like Janis, sings from the soul, love her
More like Janis on steroids, I’m from Egypt and she had me showing her music to my family who ain’t even speaking English and they think she’s awesome!
Beth is the most underrated singer in America. If it wasn't for her drug problem, she would be a household name.
+Sara Lee She is clean as a whistle...next time post something positive.
btw, do not tell me what to post...and clearly, you didn't understand the statement.
Sara Lee In Sara's defense I believe she has a valid point, & how come Beth has never been on Austin City Limits? I looked up their old shows & could not find her. PS I am a huge fan of Beth & until recently never heard of her.
Beth Hart is amazing and even if she had been sober the type of music she sings does not always get radio play which is what makes a household name I live in San Francisco and I know plenty of people that have heard of Beth Hart a lot of them are musicians and they really don't give a fuck if their a household name or not and that's exactly how Beth is I have heard her say many times I am not in this to get famous she is a true musician has a love for playing music and playing the piano you can see it in her eyes when you watch her in videos complete passion for the music I can happily say I've had the opportunity of meeting her twice now and she is a complete sweetheart and loves her fans she's totally down-to-earth and PS she's been in recovery and is making a comeback I'm sure she'll hit Austin sooner or later
The obvious outpouring of admiration for Beth Hart is a sign of hope for the appreciation of true musical talent. Beth's voice is as strong now as it was in this iconic performance. Having seen her in concert was a privilege. Her range and projection does not need any enhancement. Her pitch is absolutely, 100%, spot on, dead perfection. This woman could sing pages from a phone book or a Campbell's soup commercial and I would pay $$$ to listen.
Damn this night had some of the best female vocalist. Heart killed it when they sang Stairway to Heaven.
When Scorpions brought you to Luxembourg in 1996 around I was flashed by the voice of Beth Hart and when in 2012 you sang this magical song I know that I'm right she has the blues in her soul. Love from Luxembourg
When that woman sings ANYTHING you know she means it!
Buddy Guy’s facial reaction is everything! And that smile at the end! This performance really touched him!!! 💜
♥️♥️♥️♥️😍Been a long time gone since I fekt the Bkues again. Beth Hart is Out of this World Up There.. no wonder Buddy Guy is mesmerized.. me too! 🎋🎋🎋
Booked tickets to see Beth Hart in Sydney next Feb on the recommendation of friend who told me to watch this video. Stood at work watching and just blown away, people walked over to my desk to checkout the voice and ask why I tearing up. Bring on Feb
PHANTASTIC ..Jeff Beck is a Absolute Great Artist !"!! Beth Hart too ..it´s so Emotional , you can see it in Buddy Guy´s Eyes ...
Brilliant
I'm 54 years young, truly. If it rocks or has a fresh edge, count me in regardless of the era. 95% of everyone I know is 'locked in to an era or genre'. And that's cool, but that's not me. From any era including anything modern, if it rocks or moves me I'll jam it in my buds and add it to the playlist. I say all that to say this: Why in the hell have I never heard Beth Hart's voice until 20 minutes ago when I watched her cover of 'Whole Lotta Love? There is so much right with this performance with Jeff Beck. Her voice is a gift much needed in today's washed out and fast-turn music world.
BETH HART - GREAT VOICE and JEFF BECK super lead guitar of the world
Beth.... You are gift from God.. There's no one better!! My Dad loved blues.... I wish he could've heard you sing...
This girl got really good pipes
Excellent soul
The look on Buddy Guy's face says "This is the act I've been waiting for all night!"
Great guitar and vocals, Beth Hart is undoubtedly the natural successor to Etta James when it comes to singing this song, the nod of approval from Buddy Guy is acknowledgement enough.
Hell no!
Christine Perfect's version is better I think.
Well said! So much emotion in both the playing and the singing! Beth knocked it out of the park!
I love your singing Beth you call to mind the great roots of Jazz and Blues. Love you babe. ❤
It's impossible to top Etta, but Beth did the song justice.
Beth Hart is my favorite blues singer ever!! She is beautiful and can sing like no other (well maybe Janis Joplin). She has soul, heart, and some of her music makes me cry. Just love her. Give us MORE Beth Hart!!!
Beth Hart is right at the top of the list of great female vocalists of our time ---
Love this and it hurts
J'adore
@@jacquelinedinjon5780 m
Pppooo
it's an honor to listen to.
Incredible so beautiful and then also Jeff Beck in his incredible way of playing guitar couldn't be better....
Talk abt 2 virgioso's being in the room, and how much respect there is, beck and Beth 2gether perfection
This tribute to buddy and Zeppelin in 1 very special night!! So much admiration from their peers!💕💯 But listen to how Beth's voice is so complimented by becks skill, oh, what a night!❤️💕💕
Standing ovation from the biggest names in music, and the president
All these years and I’m still shooketh 😧
She made rock ‘n roll royalty, blues royalty, and the Obamas stand.
how am i just hearing her
Judging by the comments here, I see that I am one of many people who has recently discovered this incredible Lady Named Beth Hart.,........As a lifelong musician myself I have to admit that I am absolutely Enchanted by the Voice on this Beautiful Woman..........This performance left me 100% T-totally Gobsmacked.........Incredible.
+Symmetry50 Thanks for the info Symmetry 50 and will do fer sure.........Peace.
+Samuel Cole hey , i share your views 100%
Lol, I started listening to this because of Jeff Beck & Buddy Guy, but I was pleased to find a new artist as well. When I see things like this, and all the comments, I still don't understand how the Internet has not killed off cheesy pop music yet. Someday soon...
+Samuel Cole This woman has soul! I love her music!
+Joe Felice As if all people have good taste in music, lol.Nope, not happenin m8.
No one compares to Beth Hart
DAAAMNN, She sung the HELLL out of that song!!! MS. Etta would be PROUD!! There is god given talent in this old world... but this woman takes it to a new level!! You GO girl!!
Ya watch a blues performance like this, right? Now, I'm from Chicago. I sing, play and was married to a blues player (passed away). No, will someone please explain how spot on blues like this could get a THUMBS DOWN? I mean, Buddy Guy looks speechless, Plant and Page are diggin' it. Some people just have to be 'different'. Naw, ignorant is a better word. x
Most of them are kids, that can't appreciate real music and have nothing better to do. There are also a lot of trolls on social media, some get paid to stir up shit. Lots of Russian bots. I agree though, you can't get much better than this. Sorry for your loss.
There are not many singer who can give me chills originating soul deep, but you, Ms. Beth Hart, are one of the few who do.
The blues of my life
still watching this. Beth absolutely killed this song!!!!!!!!!!
I watched Star Search every time Beth was on. I was hooked the first time she opened her mouth and those golden tones spilled out. I have been a fan ever since. I would even go so far as saying she is my favorite female vocalist. What can anyone say about Jeff Beck that hasn't already been said. I had the pleasure of seeing them on tour together. Perfection!!
No. You know sir, but you are a true shtashtlivets be their concerts
love
rock and blues music biit
Pity that in Europe can not see just willy Chicago. It's so nice

Buddy Guy certainly remembers in this moments Etta James who sang this titel for the first time in 1967. They were the same generation of musicians (born in the 30th). He is visibly touched by this wonderful Interpretation of Beth Hart (in the manner of Janis Joplin...).
For sure.....Around 1980, Etta and her band sang at the student center at SFSU.....and man.....wow.......could she belt out so much emotion in her songs. She sang that one....and also Take it to the Limit. I felt fortunate to hear her......then a short while later, she performed at Sweetwater in Mill Valley. Thanks for the memories Etta. This music reaches in and grabs ya....
absolutely!. brought tears to my eyes. But Etta singing this with Dr John wasn't just the pinnacle.....it was Nirvana.
Bruce Moeller
@2:47 there was class and grace and soul in the White House once upon a not-so-long time ago!! We miss you guys!!
sincerely,
The world!
I am a huge blues fan!!!
I was just turned on to Beth Hart, and now I come across this performance with Beck. Made my night.
It doesn't get any better than this. OMG
Terrific :Beth Hart ; A great singer. Jeff Beck a giant
There is no doubt that musicians such as Beth Hart have taken original black blues to a much higher level
Love love love her.
What a night... Beth and, later, Ann Wilson honouring Zep!
Yep Beth, Bonnie Raitt and the Wilson sisters stole the show.
23 thousand views so far. A thousand of them must be mine. This is fabulous beyond belief.
I must offer my humblest of apologies. I think you are the best singer on the entire planet. I also thank you for offering ticket prices that are attainable, rather than motivated by greed. You really do love us, your fans. So badly do I wish I could see you. Unfortunately I am so damned poor I can't afford to leave my bed. You were once close to where I live, Spokane, WA. Instead of telling my sob story and it's huge, I will instead apologize for not being able to come and see you. I have been a fan ever since your very first appearance on Star Search. You had this voice that was so much bigger then you are, and you unleashed your talent in the likes I have never before witnessed, and I have witnessed many female voices. There are only a few that I like and you are at the top of the list. I celebrate you, and dream that one day I can see you in person. Thank you so very much for sharing your talent with us. Your voice is priceless, with a vibrato nobody else possesses, and nobody else can even fake. No, it is pure gold. God has blessed you! I hope you don't smoke anymore, as I don't want you to lose that songbird harp you have in your chest. It is amazing. It is mesmerizing, flawless, powerful, larger than life, and the package that contains it is gorgeous. I am so very glad to have the opportunity to watch and listen to your music videos. Thank God those exist, and especially, that you exist. My late husband and I watched you every week on Star Search. I didn't miss one episode. You were holding back because you had to. When I saw you next it was on Kennedy Center Honors and you sang, "I'd Rather Go Blind". I knew right away who you were, and I was in a state of shock that you were once again gracing my ears. You made Etta James proud that night! God bless you and keep you until we meet live! Woohoo!!! Beth Hart forever!
I saw her in a video with Joe Bonamassa....I cannot not say enough kind things about her....This is RAW & PURE TALENT ,,not like the CRAP they try to call music today...
It was nice to see Jimmy Page smiling. Him and Jeff Beck go way back about 50 years, when they played in the Yardbirds together.
Beth really should be a world wide known superstar such is this woman's talent.
Oh Jeff... You never fail to mesmerize me
I have been a big fan of Beth Hart for years now.....she never fails to put her heart and soul in her music/singing....always touches my soul.....
When I saw the reflection of the tears.............every time I hear your vibrato my skin just gets all these goose bumps. @Beth Hart , everyone needs to hear you- live! So underrated. My 7 year old hears your voice and instantly knows it's you! Thank you for blessing us with your amazing voice and talent, mostly for letting us in. I have followed you since the beginning and this latest album "War on my Mind" oh my! I feel you girl! The mania, the depression all of it. Thank you for allowing us to be there with you and for being relatable. You have helped me through some dark times! I cannot wait to see you in PA at Keswick 🎭 May 7th . May God bless you abundantly. Clean since June 30th, 2001 when my depression hits, you help me through it. The mania is good and bad at the same time. Keep on making those albums. We will keep buying them and following you.
We'll put.
She is The One...Girl with a BLACK SOUL....I Love You Beth
Well Beth Hart just proved that makes no difference what color your skin is💯 in order to know how to feel the blues a
Ran into this little jewel called Beth Hart...I'm blown away. It all started with the Voice and a performance called - I'll take of you. WOW so glad I looked up who sang it.
Damn, the perfect combo to salute Buddy Guy.
beth "heart" strikes once again
I don't think anyone ever impressed him as much!
Some people don't understand this music and are just happy listening to Top 40 radio. I don't understand those people and I feel sad for them.
Joe Felice . .. very well said sir
You have got to have a soul to get this music. It is more than lyrics and music, it embodies love, loss, and life. One must live to be alive! Beth eats life. Love the shit out of her.
Wow...what a great way of saying it.."Beth eats life"! She is amazing!
well said
William Benner agreed well said m8 happy new year 👌
I have never heard a more natural blues singer than this girl and she will just be my newer friend-next to my other friend JJ
Wow! Real music! What a revelation!!!!! Amazing!
Amazing performance from Beth Hart with Jeff Beck backing. Buddy Guy and Jimmy Page up in the box, with Beck on stage, practically a Mount Rushmore of rock/blues guitarists.
