the only thing with rockin up in person unannounced is that it can rub people the wrong way at least in the corporate world ( in my experience).
Not at all. If you use my script, it works perfectly. You say “I was in the area and I wanted to meet John“. They are usually happy to greet you in the lobby or even walk into their office and talk with you for 10 minutes.

@@iambuilders yes, I'm bidding some structural steel work for a GC that does Publix store renovations. I also do mechanical piping, such as chilled water, condenser water for commercial AC systems. Boiler changeouts and boiler hot water piping and copper piping systems. I'm considering using a estimating firm.

What happens if your small and you get awarded a few jobs 😅 I would find a way to fund them somehow some way but what do you recommend?
We are actually working on the best solutions for this, but some ideas are the SBA (US Small Business Association), you can also get a credit line with a small local bank. You also go with American Express Business Blueprint, Bluevine, or similar. You can also try Lending Tree.
QUESTION: Are Contractors signing the GC's Contract or Is the GC signing the Contractors Contract?
The subcontractors always sign the general contractor’s contract.

how much commission do sales people get?
So that’s up to you, but since you’re selling larger contracts, think of it like real estate. 3-6% of revenue would make sense. It could also be based on tiers. From 0-$1M=6%, over $1M=3% maybe.
