- We decided to paint our fireplace white. WAs a bold decision but the red brink really dated our house, so we thought we'd freshen it up a bit.
We worked with this really great Kalei paint from Kalklitir which allowed us to keep some great texture on the brick. Highly highly recommend using it if you're embarking on a similar project.
Fun project all-in-all, and not quite done yet, but soon we'll do the rest.
I know it's not for all of you, but we quite like it.

I painted my parents fireplace white last year and it made such a difference. Looks so fresh and somehow made the room feel brand new!

I painted the red brick in my 50's sunroom a few years ago & it is brilliant, just love it. Before painting, the patina on the knotty pine ceiling looked orange. Now it's a deep, rich caramel because of the change in reflection. I used BenMoore Advance- 2 coats.
You two are gems ! I love that you painted it yourselves, 😊 you’ll love it even more now. I would paint most brick white, so I get it. Looks gorgeous!

Before I watched the video I just assumed you guys used Romabio Limewash to make it white. I like the paint you used though. It looks good.

This is absolutely stunning...about to do the same to my 220 year old tan colored stone fireplace. I’m using Romabio lime wash (from Italy...already ordered before I saw this video). Just wondering.. when you guys remodel homes & kitchens what do you do with the old cabinets and refrigerators and appliances that are to be replaced? Are there NGOs/ organizations that take them up to donate to the needy. They could so be used by the poor. No?
That fireplace looks Fabulous.Do you know if that kind of paint chips.I’ve seen some videos where painters say they prefer staining because of the chipping with paint.I love your fireplace makeover and hoping that this psint you used doesn’t have those issues
I was so happy to find your video! I have been spent hours watching videos and trying to figure out where to get Limewash paint. You guys made it look really easy. My only concern is how much paint I need. My fireplace is about 10' wide and only 9' tall and only one layer of brick. Do you think one bag would work? Did you have a ton of paint leftover?

can any paint be used by the fireplace? i heard most paints will give off a toxic fume when heated?
