Colin is an extraordinary soul. His Irish accent enhances his pure & endearing nature. Hearing him speak the Autumn Journal is a magical journey for me. Not a typical Hollywood actor. He chooses projects that return some wholesomeness to the world, which we seems to have forgotten.
omg, now Colin gives us his lovely voice to listen to a literary masterpiece as well. The way he reads the text is marvellous and enchanting. That man offers me no respite and makes sure I'm forever in his thrall. If this goes on he will be the death of me.
Why is this like elixir to my ears! I would just listen to the musical coming out of his mouth and not bother to catch the words, because that require quite bit of effort. But omg this man is truly a magical being.
I love listening to this through my you tube tv app, it's a bit weird having a stock picture just cause you expect youtube to be moving as well as sound, he sounds as good as he looks, so not complaining, I find he has a very soothing and relaxing voice hearing his natural accent is rare wish it could be heard more often in his work, it's a lovely bonus.
Eleonora,many thanks for posting this.I was searching the internet for readings of Autumn Journal,having just read it for the first time.I am a big fan of MacNeice's poetry with its often quite startling messages for our own times.I found the original source of your recording,but the item had been removed from the listen again facility. As i don't live in the UK,I am not very up to date with the new generation of British/Irish actors,so i have been unaware of Colin Morgan.However,not only was the radio production of Autumn Journal terrific but Colin's reading was truly excellent - first class. I shall follow his career with interest from now on. I look forward to hearing him read MacNeice's Autumn Sequel some day.Not such a good poem but just evocative of the early 50s all the same. Thanks once again.Don't take it down!
