Please share advice for deciding where to go because I have not committed yet!
to apply to 23 schools and get rejected from only 2 and waitlisted from 6 and admitted to 15 schools is actually so inspiring 🎉you go scarlet congratulations!!!🎉

my cousin got into caltech and apparently they only admit 200 or so students per year, insane that she got in! she must've worked super hard :)

congratulations! All these results are crazy but especially Caltech they only take like 200 students. If you're comfortable please do a stats vid it would be really interesting to see!
Just for clarification, around 200 people accept the offer. Sadly, the yield rate for Caltech is under 50% which annoys me

That is an outstanding list of acceptances! My goodness! You are a very accomplished young person to gain admission to so many excellent schools, and your hard work is paying off. Congratulations!
My son was either rejected or waitlisted at five of the six Ivies he applied to in 2019, and he opened Princeton last. Much to our shock, he was accepted. It was the moment of a lifetime, leading to the experience of a lifetime. He is now in residency, being trained in orthopedic surgery. (He went to Mayo Clinic for med school.)
Get ready for many great things to come!

Congrats!!!! t is going to be hard to pick a school because they are all so amazing but for engineering either Stanford or Caltech would be great options! Stanford's engineering program is incredible because they have such an great variety of concentrations and their reputation is so amazing. Caltech is insaneeee, it's such a great school and they are quite literally known for their revolutionary engineering programs/stem programs. It's a hard choice for sure.

I went to Duke and really enjoyed it. It's a great education, but also a lot of fun and it was good to spend 4 years of my life in a place that was totally different than where I grew up.
You can and will get a great education at any of these schools, so unless there's one in particular where your major program is unique/special, go based off of vibes and where you see yourself enjoying the quality of life the most!!! Stanford, Harvard, Columbia, UPenn, Duke, and Northwestern are all similar to me in terms of caliber for engineering programs, but differ a lot in terms of the location/city, sports/social culture, climate, etc. Good luck deciding!!!

If possible, def do some campus tours! I got in to my dream school (had visited the campus before), but then I visited another university I wasn't even considering going to and I ended up going there! Good luck & congratulations!!

caltech barely accepts it's like a 3% acceptance rate congraats
I’ve actually mentored a few people for the college admissions process.If you’re looking of advice on where to commit, this is what I would say: Harvard for east coast, Stanford for west coast. And I would lean towards Stanford. I’m currently an MBA student at Yale, and we’re pretty stacked with graduates from the Ivy leagues, but especially those two (plus Yale and Princeton). If you have an eye towards a professional degree in the future like law, business, or medicine, these two schools would be the most helpful getting there.

Very happy for you, it looks like you'll have plenty of great options to choose from, but I do wish I got the same results as you from my admissions this year. I got rejected from the 3 ivies (Dartmouth, Yale, Columbia) I applied to plus Stanford and UChicago, but I am on the waitlist for Berkeley. Currently deciding between UW - Seattle and Edinburgh unless I get off the waitlist

The zip code where her school district is located has the 27th highest median household income in the nation. The US has over 40,000 zip codes. It is still commendable, however, to have used the resources around you to the best of your ability, but don't think for a second that equal opportunity exists in US college admissions.

to give u advice it sepends on your major but i recommend checking us news for a list of the best schools for ur major and choose the closest one from it u were accepted in
My advice is to pick based on: 1) (if you know) the program you want to study and the faculty and offering therein that is the best/most lauded; 2) the location and surroundings (weather/climate, urban vs. suburban vs. rural, spots to visit closeby); 3) the network and career opportunities post-undergraduate in your field of interest. You will find likeminded people and a good match for your social life at any/each of those schools.

For engineering, I'd pick Caltech, known to have 46 Nobel laureates to its name, Einstein and Hawking included. For everything else, Stanford would be great. Both are in Cali, the gorgeous weather state. Congrats and best of luck!
