    I just did first run in Boston 12. I find them clunky and bottom heavy at easey pace. When I pick up the pace they are excellent. I have wide feet and they fit perfectly.

      The foams and the rods tend to do well for me at faster than easy paces too. It’s a well rounded shoe

    Thanks mate, great review! Sounds like an analog competitor to the Puma Deviate Nitro 2, don’t you think? Not quite race daye shoe, both have plating system, both are poppy and have strong grip, among other things

    What paces are you testing it and how does it feel when you run slow, any instability?

    • @RunningDadAdventures
      @RunningDadAdventures  Před rokem +1

      I appreciate the feedback. This is a fun shoe. I tried a few different laces from slow to fast. It seems to be the happiest at a zone 3 for me but also did reasons well at slower speeds too. The rigidity of the energy rods, foam and rocker bottom create a set it and forget it type of cruiser but snappy enough to respond when I speed up. Straight line stable, not great during corners so would watch for uneven terrain and caution with any gait abnormalities (supination/pronation) don’t go rolling your ankle. Great questions.

    Adidas should bring back regular width laces, which would help comfort and lockdown due to more area covered . I would go comfort over a few grams .

    • @RunningDadAdventures
      @RunningDadAdventures  Před rokem +1

      I agree. I have the old adios 5 and I think I’ll compare the two later just to see. I think they’re slightly different. I know Saucony had a color option for laces at least. The #of eyelets might off set the pinching on the Boston though. Great stuff

    • @luqmananuar226
      @luqmananuar226 Před rokem +2

      I still have an Adios 5 and recently added Adios 7 into the rotation. Honestly, I still prefer to run in Adiós 5 because of the width despite its minimal cushioning. The sizing for Adiós 7 is kinda weird in length and quite narrow.

    • @RunningDadAdventures
      @RunningDadAdventures  Před 24 dny

      Gotcha. I kind of wish for a new ad 5 because it is such a fun shoe and the complete opposite of all the super stack shoes. Fast light low to the ground. Felt like star power on Mario cart

  • @jesterclown1145

    Found the Takumi to be a bit narrow at the fore foot. Guess this would really a good option for me if I want to try a kinda plated shoe 😊

    • @RunningDadAdventures
      @RunningDadAdventures  Před rokem +1

      Right on! This might be a good option. Check the return policy if it doesn’t work out 💪 the takumi has energy rods and so does this but this is more that super trainer category (vs the race tuned Takumi) with a more structured upper.

  • @phongvan628

    Puma deviate nitro 2 and Adidas Boston 12, what shoes wider toebox? My DN2 size 26,5cm, what size in B12? Thanks!

    • @RunningDadAdventures
      @RunningDadAdventures  Před rokem

      I don’t know for sure which of the two have the wider toebox as I only have the B12 and not the puma. If it were me I’d buy both from a place that I know had a good return policy and try both and send the other back. I’m a US size 11 and the B12 feels plenty roomy to the point of sloppy during some cases but that’s me. That said the B12 is wicked fun to run in

      @RunningDadAdventures  Před rokem +2

      If the lockdown is right on the right foot then yes this should do well for the marathon and bonus that you have a trainer and race day shoe in one. It has the guts for all the jobs. Enjoy

    i been running for a month, do I need these??

    • @RunningDadAdventures
      @RunningDadAdventures  Před 2 měsíci

      Without knowing the backstory I’d guess no. The first reason is the cost, next would be the idea behind the shoe. There are so many good shoes for beginners out there. Basically, at the very beginning stages of running I’d focus on a blend of running, walking, nutrition (hydration) running targeted flexibility and strength. Start slowly and build at your pace and rate. Staying healthy while perusing being healthy can be a balancing act. Have fun!

      Absolutely. I think it would be great at easy day and take some work away from the legs. It’s got the cushion for it for sure. It might feel different given the 2 foams and energyrods but don’t think itd be a bad thing. Thanks
