I finished rosetta stone for english 3 times, I could understand everything you said because of Rosetta Stone, now i'm finishing it again, each time I finish it I get a better english.

@@diet.mountain.dew. They had a sale during lockdown and I paid something like $220 for everything they offer for all time. I don’t if they still offer that kind of thing. I worked on Spanish for some time and eventually lost interest mostly because it was so slow. However there were some features I thought were useful like the stories.

For spanish duolingo it does teach you how the verb is conjugated now. It has verb charts you have to fill in the blanks for.
I used Pimsleur levels 1-3 for Russian and even though it was boring I loved it although I had to learn the alphabet online before hand. I was able to have basic conversations with native russian speakers, read very simple books & understand russian TV shows a little.

As someone who was immersed in Spanish my whole life Duolingo was great because I already understood the language so it was very good for practicing but I can see why it's not the best for straight up learning

Pimsleur is probably my favorite. But no one app is enough to reach fluency. Apps, no matter how involved they seem, can't truly take someone to fluency. You'll always need supplemental materials. Either to clarify certain grammitcal points or to better understand a particular phoneme and how it's being produced or to broaden your vocabulary, etc.

Doesn't Duolingo explain verb conjugation in the tips and notes?

If the other language apps added nerd languages like high valerian and klingon like Duolingo has I would have used them, but duo is great, and Duo also has Latin as well!! It's the only one I haven't gotten bored with.
As of today I'm on my 735 day streak 🙌

I'm with the yes and no in terms of applications. If it has other speakers to practice with like italki, interpal and it can work because you can be corrected by the native speaker. Like Nate said with the flash cards it can work as well.

Pimsleur, Rocket Spanish and Gkossika (which is oriented for slightly more advanced learners).

I have used Pimsleur before. I have became super bored after just 1 and a half lessons. So i just stopped using it. Relying on one area of learning just doesnt do it for me. I use different methods to keep my language learning enjoyable.

Ah but the thing is about Pimsleur... whether you learn 500 or 1000 words(or whatever it is) by the end of the 5 comprehensive levels, you won't really ever forget those words and you will be putting them into functional sentences. Not the end all be all but certainly can be one of the methods that will help get you going on your journey.

yes too much apps are totally distracting. for me I only use duolingo as a supplement, before, I used to use memrise with duolingo, but now I stopped using it, memrise unlike duolingo doesn't provide you with tips that help you through your learning journey.

Can I ask something? whi should I be fluent In the first place if I'm not a native speaker whi should a bother myself and push myself .if I'm able to speak a language correctly this is good enough .and I think also that in 2022 People should know how to speak English and focus in programming language because this is the future
