Must be, what, over 20 years now? Makoto: the most consistently brilliant producer in d&b history.
My first Makoto record was Sweet Changes, must have been 1998? Still smashing his tunes more than 20 years later. So few artists manage what this guy has. The word legend is used very disposably these days but Makoto really is one.

All kidding aside - back in the day I rocked to his productions, was absolutely in love with GLR and all the dope sublabels GLO spawned - but looking back now, I must confess I did not appreciate Makoto the way he should be appreciated - as special unique talent, and (has it really been 20 years? My my how time flies) absolutely in a league of his own.
The beauty of aural landscapes he shows us and the endless creativity energy and joy - so vividly present in his music are a testament to his awesomeness.
Please excuse me, I was blind for so long and now I finally see some things - hence the lengthy reply.
Legend is indeed the right word.
Not once have I been disappointed by Makotos work.
